The Contra Costa Board of Supervisors is getting another raise.
The board on Tuesday will officially “receive notice of adjustment in compensation paid to the members of the board of supervisors, showing a 4.3 percent salary increase for board members, effective July 1, 2021, as required by ordinance 2019-11.
Supervisors’ salaries are tied to those of Contra Costa’s superior court judges, with the county ordinance mandating supervisors get 65 percent of what the judges make.
According to a staff report for Tuesday’s board meeting, “On August 12, the county received notice that superior court judges’ salary will be increased to $223,829, effective July 1, 2021. This is a 4.3 percent increase to judicial salaries.”
Supervisors were making $11,624.22 per month. The increase takes them to $12,124.07 per month, or $145,488 a year. Just six years ago, in 2015, Contra Costa Supervisors were making $97,483 a year.
“This salary increase will be implemented on or after September 17, 2021, with an effective date of July 1, 2021,” the report says.
The supervisors won’t vote on the increase, only to officially receive notice. The board meets virtually at 9 a.m. Tuesday and can be found at www.contracosta.ca.gov.
Keep robbing us blind, the locals love it. Rapidly approaching full government take over, good luck to anyone with a head and some money in the bank.
Good for them.
Along with bribes and graft they should all be clearing around $2M plus a year.
They work so hard for you, they all deserve all they can steal.
Kinda makes you nauseous, doesn’t it?
Jelly
Notice how there is no mention of what employees are getting??? Oh yeah the employees contract is up so no pay increase for the workers for the next 10-18 months minimum. County just loves to drag out negotiations so they employees can go a year or 2 without a raise.
so are they aware of the holes in the mail in recall ballots
that expose your yes vote to recall the newscum
so they can be thrown away
i am sure they are and this is why they are getting the raise
more hush money as they push corruption over the people
when the dems run the election protocols corruption ensues
the board is supposed to be on our side
yet its clear who they respect over the people
and they dont care if you know it
for more money in their pockets
What holes? My mail-in ballot didn’t have any holes exposing my vote.
The ballots up here have one hole and expose nothing.
The holes in the mail in envelope do not indicate which way you vote are you on drugs?
Yes there is a hole in the envelope. No, you can’t tell how the person voted because of the hole. I sent my ballot in a few days ago and I checked.
Every county has different envelopes for the mail in ballots. CCC has a hole that goes through the front to the back but oddly the diameter of the hole on the signature side is much larger. The ballots in Sacramento County are totally different with a hole on each side of the signature side and the signature is in a completely different place. They say it is for vision impaired so they know where to sign but it seems very strange. Why not have a standard set type of ballot envelope for vision Impaired and have it be used statewide?
If they were going to throw away the “yes” votes, why couldn’t they just open the envelopes first? Why would they have to come up with an elaborate scheme to put holes in the envelopes?
I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next person, but this one doesn’t even make sense.
And you guys keep voting on the increase in taxes. Which clearly is going to salaries. Almost a 50% raise in 6 years. Who else gets that much….
Who gets that much? Not the county workers. A while back the workers took a 2.75% wage decrease to “help the county” as did the BoS. Couple of years later the workers got a 4% “increase” (2.75% catch up and actual increase was 1.25%) and the BoS gave themselves a 33% raise because they had to make up the 2.75% cut. Yeah that is exactly how it works and yet people keep voting for the same “lifers”, Glover, Gioia & Mitchoff. Well Mitchoff is gone but you still have the other 2 lifers.
Reminds me of a line from the movie Kingpin.
The supervisors are—
“On a gravy train with biscuit wheels”.
Have you seen what a rank and file Concord Police Officer makes these days with overtime?
Try $220,000 a year.
It’s completely asinine they make so much and have raises now conveniently automated so they don’t have to vote on anything and be directly accountable for their vote to raise their salaries. I’m normally pro “labor”, but this is ridiculous.
Alan the BoS is not “labor”. Here’s something to watch. The major employee contracts are up June 30, 2022. Lets see how long the county drags out negotiations. The longer they drag it out, the longer it takes for the employees to get a raise. The county has been known to drag the process out 24 months. Would be nice if the BoS had to wait that long for a raise.
I retired from the county after 32 years of service and it would be nice if in those 32 years I got the privilege of voting myself an automatic raise.
Must be nice to vote your self a
raise!
I will have to try that too.
🙈🤑😜😜😜
Wow .. must be nice to get a raise and still provide little to no value to our community.
Well, there’s inflation . . . . . things cost more.
like any other democrat, lie, cheat and steal

That’s just a part time job isn’t it?
Become a Supervisor………..the practical alternative to work.
#DefundCCCoSupervisors
let us not forget these idiots believe that racism is a public health crisis. seems like graft, theft and corruption are the real crisis.
Edi wants this job. Now I know why.
You know who wants this job? It is Edi and now I know why.
When are people going to realize that government no longer has the best interest of the people. It’s a money making career like another, the goal is to make more money, keep getting richer and build your business and career. Newsom got 13 BILLION over the last three years for the homeless situation and yet it has gotten worse. This year he got 12 BILLION more, you think that’s going to change anything, nope!. He will distribute some of it to county’s, then it goes to cities and they then give themselves raises. How many times has the gas tax been raised to fix the roads?
Not to mention the money they are getting from Seeno to make him the developer of the Naval Weapons area.
It is so time to clean house. There is no conscience in any elected official it appears these days. We are over taxed to death-the last sales tax increase was an abomination. Why don’t these fools give up their raises and add the money to the general fund so as to reduce the stress on the tax payers in their districts.
But alas, no, the greedy so and so’s. We can vote you out and we will.
sam – That was the Concord City Mayor, Vice Mayor and Edi that voted to make Seeno the Master Developer, not the County Supervisors.
With the majority of employee contracts expiring and at least $15 Million of the general fund required to pay for the demo and construction of the new building it will be interesting to see what kind of COLA the rank and file receive (bet it doesn’t approach 4.3%).
Almost Famous
The employees will get the same old 3-3-2 or 2-3-3 or 2-2-3 but it will be held up with 12-24 months of negotiations with no retro. That’s the usual MO the county uses.
And they wonder why people are leaving in droves to go to cities and Solano county.
If only each time they get a raise that they would choose to loose at least one perk of equal value. I would rather hear the they declared to not accept the raise in favor of the workers getting it instead since they are the ones who actually work.
I remember when public employees worked for lower wages because their job was protected, easy, and they had a great retirement benefits. AND NOW !!
True.
Nowadays Concord Police are making $220,000 a year with a little overtime and dont even get me started on Firefighters in the County.
In fact, taxpayers are paying $250,000 a year each for 4 retired Captains from the San Ramon Valley Fire District.
Concord City Manager Valerie Barone makes $400,000 a year.
It’s out of control.
I think all city, county and state employees should post their job duties and then have them independently audited every three years to uncover whether or not they are in fact doing their jobs.
And I assume you’ll volunteer to undergo the same audit for your job?
I find decisions made by policymakers are not explained adequately to the populace who pays their salaries and perks. Our decision makers hear all sides, or should, of an issue and make the most intelligent decision and then explain why to the populace. We don’t do all the research they do and don’t get all the feedback they do. Money and election support should not sway one way or the other. We don’t need shills or shells, we need statesmen/stateswomen who are equal or better than us in brains and ethics and can show that.
It must be nice to have a job where one can give themselves a raise. It’s definitely a luxury that those of us who work for a living in the real world don’t have.
