Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) released health guidance to help young people and spectators stay safer from COVID-19 on the playing field and at other extracurricular activities.
The new countywide guidance, which aligns with an update to the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) public health guidance for K-12 schools, is not a legally binding health order, but advice for schools, sports leagues, clubs, and other organized activities for youth and children.
“Schools and organizations that provide youth sports and other activities need to be especially aware, because children younger than 12 are not yet able to be vaccinated. While pediatric hospitalization rates remain low across the county, children who catch COVID-19 can pass the virus to vulnerable adults,” said Dr. Chris Farnitano, Contra Costa County’s health officer.
The Contra Costa guidance outlines existing requirements and adds recommendations for when to use face coverings, vaccination, COVID-19 testing, transportation and hygiene. The guidance applies both to school-based and non-school activities, building on updated CDPH guidance for school sports and other activities.
The new county guidance strongly encourages use of masks for all participants, coaches, staff, volunteers and spectators in outdoor sports, regardless of vaccination status. The use of masks for activities in indoor public spaces is required by a county health order.

If I am outside, vaccinated, and away from people, I will not be wearing a mask to watch my kids playing sports.
If I am outside, vaccinated and near other people, I will not be wearing a mask to watch my kids playing sports.
I will wear one inside, if requested by the place hosting the event, but if I can go in without one, I will.
Maybe if the CDPH and CooCoo Health Department were more trustworthy, I would take them seriously .. but these are the same fools who tried to teach safe sex practices during this pandemic …

The CDC writes housing policy apparently, and also has the authority to cancel contracts.
Laws are passed not by legislatures, but by governors, then rubber stamped by legislatures without any debate.
California has been run at the whims of one man, except for where he allows his fellow party members to go even more insane, such as LA shutting down outdoor dinning based on ZERO data, all the while allowing the city to operate.
SF has banned non vaccinated from eating indoors, based on executive orders.

The vaccine isnt available to kids under age 12.
The Delta variant is sending more and more kids into hospitals and the ICU.
In fact, the ICU bed capacity at Texas Children’s Hospital exceeded 90% in August, with more than 30% of pediatrician ICU admission due to Covid-19 infants, children, and adolescents.
RSV season is just starting too.
Pediatric ICU’s are under stress and ICU beds are at a premium.
If you or your child come down with Covid and require hospitalization, you probably shouldnt count on medical resources to be available to you.
Right now at UC Davis Med Center 80 people with Covid are hospitalized and 68 of them are unvaccinated. 21 are in the ICU, of which 19 are unvaccinated. 12 are on a ventilator, in which 11 were unvaccinated.
Dont just assume that ICU space will always be available to you.
Who cares? 99+% recovery rate. Im not worried a bit.

And where’s the data showing the transmission rates of outdoor activities? Oh yeah, non existent. Well, the more freedom the morons in this county give up, the more power unelected, failed doctors in our county’s health department will take. I love how the press release states the cause of the spike in covid cases is due to “the people that have chosen to not be vaccinated.” That right there tells me this has nothing to do with science.

I rarely wear a mask in public indoor facilities. Most of the time no one says anything to me as I probably look pretty intimidating and looking like I’ll probably start a fight over it, but if someone politely asked me to put one on I’ll just turn around and go out the door if they wanna be rude about it and tell me off that’s their first and only mistake.

Hahaha this is ridiculous. The other day I saw a woman driving a convertible with the top down wearing a mask BY HERSELF. The true pandemic is lack of common sense.
I still haven’t worn the mask. I go everywhere I want. Restaurants, Safeway, anytime, anywhere. Anyone says anything I say “I’m free, I do whatever I want”. People don’t even know how to respond. You fools are completely brainwashed thinking these businesses won’t sell to you without a mask because of a “mandate”. Again, these aren’t lawful orders. They are killing you guys with their stern language. They have no power.

When I enter a grocery store and I do not want to wear a mask I just grab a bag of chips on my way in and eat them as I’m shopping because all mandates state when you’re eating or drinking you do not have to wear a mask in public indoors..

Zero evidence that masking outside does anything. Obvious that it is at least annoying for kids to wear while exercising and very possibly could lead to increase in fainting, etc. Yet here we are. It’s openly nonsensical except as control theater – “we have to do something when cases go up – otherwise people will think we aren’t in control!”
Remember guys, the government is not coming for our freedom. It’s just that with how bad this virus is, we simply need to band together for two weeks to flatten the curve, then the government will relinquish the emergency powers that we’ve granted it.

We are not meant to cover our faces during exercise, unless its 20 degrees outside and its used to warm the air we breath through such as a ski mask..try breathing super heated air in 100 degree weather while exercising and get back to me.
