Spare The Air Alerts Issued For Friday, Saturday After Wildfire Smoke Worse Than Expected

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued Spare the Air alerts for Friday and Saturday after wildfire smoke in the region caused more pollution than previously anticipated.

On Thursday, the air district had issued an air quality advisory for both days, saying pollution levels from the wildfires burning across California were forecast to cause moderate air quality but it was not expected to exceed federal health standards.

When Spare the Air alerts are in effect, wood burning is banned both indoors and outdoors.

If anyone smells smoke, the air district advises them to stay inside with windows and doors closed and to set air conditioning and car vent systems to recirculate.

Perfect time to fire up the grill. It’s not like it can make the air any worse. 🙂

I might as well burn those old rags soaked in diesel fuel too.

And finally dump that 55 gallon drum of DDT in the gutter,

Billions of dollars spent on vaccine lotteries & free healthcare for undocumented immigrants…….but California CANNOT contract with some planes to fight these fires????

.
Burned forests don’t vote.
.
Newscum will fund anything so long as he and his party stays in power.
.

Fires don’t vote democrats into office…

It was pretty bad out there. Had that N95 on. Naturally had several errands.

It’s been discussed and proven that N95 masks does more harm than good for filtering forest fire smoke. You’re better off with a wet rag across your nose and mouth.

i blame gavin for his non-management of the forests, just does what the hippie terrorists tell him to do, i.e. nothing

#RecallGavinNewsom

I blame no one, forest fires have been wiping out property and forests for thousands and thousands of years is called cleansing the environment.
Can’t stop the burn..

Well, people have been dying for thousands of years too. But, apparently, we need to pay for medical care so that people too lazy to work can stay alive to leech off us more.

“Cant stop the burn”, but federal and state govenments can help with fire mitigation measures and prescribed burns, which they havent been doing as often as they did 10+ years ago. If they gave less money to the illegals, homeless, vaccine lotteries and started to do these more then we would have fires that are not as harmful and do less damage when they do happen. It all starts with the government we have in office, need to vote them out.

CC Health Services also reminds you to use an N95 mask, “surgical masks do not help” in relation to smoke.

Smoke particles are larger than coronavirus.

So, by their own admission, surgical masks cannot help with coronavirus.

We have all known this… at least those of us who are not sheep.

I was in Concord earlier this week when it was literally snowing ashes.
I think the mask was helpful to me then.

At least we only have three more months of wildfire smoke to deal with.

I was accustomed to asking Suri for an update on the air quality. The Surie/iPhone and “airnow.gov” gave a reading 100 points below “purpleair.com”! At this time, all three are at the same reading. From here on out I only trust “Purpleair.com”.

yeah Purpleair is the better choice.

I hear there is a conversion on Purple to use so it is giving you the same information that air.now gives. The standards go by the air now numbers. May want to look into it.

People’s purple air monitors are so easy to hack into that app software it’s ridiculous. People will hook anything up to their Wi-Fi in their house without even realizing what a security issue things have purpleair is a joke security wise.

Covid 19 … … yeah, but what about the forest fires? Besides destroying homes, killing people and burning thousands of acres, this smoke is a very serious health hazard too!

If we can build enormous tunnels & pumps to divert water all the way down to L.A. Build space stations, put a friggin helicopter on Mars, develop a vaccine in 6 months…. shouldn’t we be able to develop the technology to put out friggin forest fires more efficiently than we presently do?
How hard could it be?

Billions squandered on foreign aid to countries that hate us, Blue State bailouts & pet projects …. why not spend THAT money on a enormous fleet of fire retardant bombers instead? Just for a start!
