188 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. 46 of those are in the ICU.

How does a decrease in active covid case over the last 3 days count as an increase? On August 9th there were 3,962 active cases. Today, August 11th, they’re showing 3,550, yet the trend is still increasing? That’s 2 days with less cases each day.
Should I trust the science as much as I trust their math? What’s their baseline?
It says it’s for a 2 week trend, so I’m guessing it’s still higher than the average for the last two weeks.

Two weeks ago maybe we were around 2,650 cases. On a daily basis, it peaked two days ago at 3,962, but has pulled back to 3,550 as of 8/11. Over two weeks, we’re still up approx. 34%. Look at the bigger picture, not day to day.
It does look like we have hit the peak but this “2 week trend” hasn’t caught that yet.
Just found out a few hours ago a friend of the family has Covid and is in ICU at Kaiser…. She’s not doing to well. I have seen 1st hand what this virus can and has done. It’s really sad.

Let me guess, your family friend is 70+, underlying health condition, immune compromised, obese…perhaps fully vaccinated, too? And seeing first hand, that’s another doubt as they don’t let you in the hospital nowadays to visit! So sad, the fear mongering…

It’s sad you come on here and harass people because they actually know people who have died and who are in ICU cause of this. It’s absolutely sad Claycord allows someone so heartless on here. Nothing is controlling me. I think how I want just as you do. But coming on here and blasting someone because you don’t believe this actually puts people in hospital and kills. I’m feel sorry for you.
This person is 65 years old and does smoke. Has no underlying conditions. She was put in there today. I don’t know if she was vaccinated. Currently not on life support but is having difficulty breathing.

A friend was in Kaiser ICU for about a week with COVID-19 in a condition that sounds similar to what your family friend is in. He recovered after about a week though it then took a couple of months before he was back to full strength and normal activities. Hopefully your family friend also recovers and soon resumes her normal activities.
@some people – A severe case of COVID-19 does not automatically mean there are or were any underlying medical conditions. The person I just mentioned has none for example. If the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 were easy to figure out then they would have been licked months ago.

@Me my wife and I are not vaccinated, over wirthsm had a severe cae of COVID and were better in about 2 weeks with no hospitilizations. I feel bad for your friend, but as the Lion King says…it’s the circle of life.

If you look at what is happening in Israel, I would say we have to consider the possibility that the vaccine (as least Pfizer) isn’t working.

The testing for the Wuhan Virus is not an accurate or reliable test.
There is no test for any variant.
