A shooting investigation is underway at the Sunvalley Mall in Concord Monday night, police said.
The shooter has fled so there is no danger to patrons or mall employees, according to police.
Paramedics were dispatched to the mall just before 6 p.m. It’s currently unknown how many people were injured or struck by gunfire.
This area is getting to be like Oakland or Stockton.

I was at the mall and saw at least one gentleman injured. Fortunately, he appeared alive and was taken by a code 3 ambulance to the hospital. The shooting is in the corner between Sears and Red Robin. The area is a major crime scene and taped off.

I’m also fairly certain that the perp in this case didn’t have a carry permit, and is probably also not allowed to own firearms. Just a guess, maybe he hasn’t been caught and convicted of any felonies yet, but it’s only a matter of time with someone like that.

George Floyd was a lifelong criminal. He broke into a house looking for drugs and held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach while his coworkers ransacked the house. The likes of him were probably shooting at each other at the Sun Valley Mall.

I walk with my wife in the mall as an exercise regimen. Well, we stopped doing this after she witnessed an altercation among a bunch of teens. It was mixed as for what ethnics were involved. I warned her to get to the mall before the stores start to open but she still chose to go around 1030-1100. After seeing that incident she decided that I had a wise suggestion!
As a consequence we do not go to the mall unless I am with her and only to pay her bills in person. One store she likes is the HALLMARK store but she said it is going downhill in the past year.

It most likely is, and it’s also likely that there weren’t any legally permitted firearms being carried. There may have been, but carry permits are extremely rare in CoCo County. The sheriff doesn’t issue very many of them.

Similar law is in effect in the following states:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa (effective July 1, 2021), Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota (residents only; concealed carry only), Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee (residents only; handguns only; effective July 1, 2021), Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
For a long time, Vermont was the only state that allowed permitless carry, as they have never (as in NEVER) enacted any prohibitions or carry licensing schemes. Others joined mostly within the last 10 years.
Wild West shootings have not been observed in any of them. Texas is looking to join that list.
