Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be out on patrol on Friday looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Police say impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or operating heavy machinery, which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
maybe speeding and reckless driving as well
but theft and vagrancy and people assaulting you in broad daylight are ok
lets focus on a 1-2% and let the rest of us rot in chaos
again this is done by a grant
since the council holds the police hostage
and does not allow them to protect and serve
only to listen and do as they are told
total bs
It’s a “safe” endeavor. Drunk drivers don’t have a big lobby in Sacramento or Washington.
Yes the police do have bosses and if you give it some thought that is exactly how you want it to be. You take the King’s shilling you do the King’s business as the King wants it done.
Most people just blame the police as if that one department within city government acts within a vacuum – the tail wagging the dog. People fail to see it is the politicians who hire the Chief, set the policies, priorities, budget, training, promotions, salaries and hiring practices of their police departments.
You think the Minneapolis or Portland Police Departments have issues? It is nothing compare to politicians who run the departments but for some reason lost to me, politicians always get a pass on responsibility.
I will win the interne today with my negative comment!!! Everything sucks, nothing anyone does is good. And everything is the Dems fault!
Bobohead for the WIN!
$13,500. Wow, and that’s not even including the cost of your auto insurance for the next 10 years (no Good Driver discount). Best option: call a cab.
$13,500 is NOTHING! Hahahaha. Barely a week’s pay for most people.
Spending a few weekends washing police cars and checking the “yes” box on job application queries about a criminal record is the real deterrent.
Why risk the hassle; there’s an app for that.
oh i am sorry
your fine with how this state is being run by
DEMOCRATS
well share your thoughts on what wonderous things are being done
if you mean the weiner pushing for laws to allow child porn and abuse well let us know

Notice the stickers on your prescription bottles that say alcohol will intensify this effect …..
That’s great, but what about the people who are just plain stupid? Which is basically everyone but me. 😉
