The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in California is now $4.00, which is $1.25 more than a year ago, according to AAA.
The cheapest gas in the Nation is in Texas, with an average price of $2.58 a gallon.
The National average is currently $2.85 a gallon.
.. one of Newsom’s campaign promises before getting into office was to get underneath the gas price gouging by the oil companies and bring them in line with the rest of the country (especially with numerous refineries in Cali)….. we all know our gas prices are above $4 / gal …… so did Newsom deliver on this campaign promise too? noooooooo … just like he said he was going to stop the financial black hole of the “high speed rail” project

Why do we Californians put up with this? Prices go up because they are shifting from summer to winter blend!. They go up because of refinery shutdowns!. Hell, they go up because someone at Chevron sneezed wrong.
They should be regulated by an agency such as the PUC.

We pay these rates because of the “special” formulas the gas companies have to produce. These are being forced on us by the eco-freak tree huggers. You know, the same exact people responsible for the states poor forest management, and consequently, our yearly rash of catastrophic wildfires. This might surprise you, but most environmentalists are Democrat! No other state requires such restrictive gas formulas. Thus we pay the highest price. This combined with all the extra taxes tacked on to the price of a gallon of gas to improve our roads, roads that are the worst in the nation. Unfortunately, those taxes are regularly “redirected” for pet projects! Pet projects like the bullet train to nowhere and to provide every benefit possible to illegal aliens, while our own legal citizens, to include veterans who fought for our country and now are living lives marred their experiences, are living on the streets.

I paid $2.19 a gallon this afternoon. Real Gas (93 Octane, no ethanol) costs a little over $3. Folks here buy it for their boats, riding mowers, chain saws, etc…Booze, on the other hand is more expensive.

I’ve bought 100 octane gas at a station in Brentwood before. I just need a couple of gallons at a time for a hot rod minibike engine I have. It’s scary watching the price go up at $10 a gallon. It’s at $20 like it’s nothing for the little jug I filled.
I am forecasting that within a few months, the story on higher gas prices will be spun by the White House as if its a good thing, penalizing gas vehicles and encouraging the switch to electric. If you are against higher prices, as the Democrats will tell us, then you just don’t care about the Earth, and must be an under-educated Midwestern corn farmer Trump supporter.
We went from being an energy independent country on 19 January 2021 to a country now dependent upon foreign oil.

I blame Biden / Harris. While it’s inexcusable that governor Newsom has kidnapped the gas tax money and spent it on social programs instead of the road repairs that it was meant for, it is Biden and Harris and their policies causing gas prices to the sore. Now it’s happening food prices too! The field policies that they are hiding with their flowering words are going to take a toll on all of us. Fasten your seatbelts! Inflation is coming! Gas and power shortages are coming. Homelessness and failed businesses, and more and more crime are coming….. All the work of the crazy policies being put into place.
6 bucks a gallon by Summer, if you’re lucky enough to find some. Why: July 1 tax increase, Summer blend, Refinery “Maintenance”, and a shortage of tanker drives because more money is being given to stay at home than to work.

All in the name of climate control and anticipated sea level rise. Why then did Obama buy a 27 acre parcel with a 7000 sq. foot house on the edge of the ocean on Martha’s vineyard. Why does Al Gore and Tehran Kerry as well as the celebrity professional liars (another term for acting) fly super carbon spewing private jets (should be all banned) and ride in monster SUVs and live in huge homes? We are fools to give any of these folks one cent of our money or our time.
Gas prices are the same as 2 years ago but no one was complaining back then, so what gives ?
