For the sixth time in just over three years, Cold Stone Creamery in Pleasant Hill’s Crescent Plaza was forced to close due to a cockroach infestation.

Inspectors from the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health say they found the following during their inspection on April 20:

  • Three dead cockroaches on floor below condenser of display ice cream refrigeration unit at front preparation area behind the metal grates. Buildup on floor also observed in noted area.
  • One medium sized (juvenile) live cockroach observed running out of condenser and back into condenser in noted area. Unable to access inside condenser due to metal grates being screwed on.
  • Multiple ceiling tile gaps/holes observed throughout back room. Cockroach droppings observed in between gaps on wall and ceiling tile.
  • Multiple gaps/holes also observed on bottom of ice cream stone counter

The restaurant has since been reinspected and reopened.

You the pandemic is over when…..

“You know”

Cockroaches?
La Cucaracha?

https://tinyurl.com/8x5259m

Make sure to wait till the end…..

bad location?
poor hygiene?

racial equity? LOL!!
white privilege? LOL!!!

Google gets zero hits for “Cold Cockroach Creamery” but the right hand sidebar of the results is for Cold Stone Creamery in Pleasant Hill’s Crescent Plaza…

How is this nasty place allowed to continue operating? Six closures for severe health violations in three years. One might think the City would cancel their business license due to the long-term health threat. Someone should accept the responsibility to say enough is enough.

Just an fyi, the current Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, was the CEO of Cold Stone Creamery from 1995 to 2007.

Those were the pre cockroach years….

CSC is owned by a Canadian Company MTY

just an FYI

And? That was 14 years ago, completely irrelevant.

Oh…eeh…..uhh. .. I thought those crunchy toppings were extra crunchy!

I sure wish they could solve this problem!! I have several Coldstone gift cards that I’d like to use, but not if they’re having health/safety issues!!

Someone needs to swoop in and take over ice cream duties in Pleasant Hill. Why does Concord and Martinez have a variety of options and all PH gets is Cold Roach Creamery?

The restaurant has since been reinspected and reopened.

ugh damage done 6th time

either explain why you are so lenient

or so gullible

or why we should go there now

shutting down for 6 times with health code violations

while we still need to wear a thin flimsy non scientific mask
or face brow beatings and snears
and questions like …are we related to gavin

faith in food inspections just went out the window with CDC and WHO and any election held in this state from now on …..

you voted for all of this and got it

enjoy

I haven’t been there since they first opened the Pleasant Hill store, was not impressed then. Really glad I had never returned.

How are they still even open. Who are the people who keep eatting there?

Whoever runs that place must be a real winner.

Waiter! My ice cream is moving!

Never considered going there after the 1st closure. Those bugs are hard to get rid of and a few sprays of bug be-gone won’t do it. The entire building and businesses next to them should be inspected too.

That they can get a closure that many times is a failure of our county health department

Can I add some cockroach toppings on my ice cream, please? Thank you!

After reading about all the establishments that have failed inspections time after time, I am convinced that the Health Department either lacks the authority or the will to close a business for longer than it takes to get a reinspection.

I stopped going to any Cold Stone years ago when I noticed a trend that this happened a lot to them. Just stay away and you don’t have to worry about it.

There were 3 dead roaches so they must be doing something right.

The worst thing about the cockroaches was that none of them were wearing masks.

Cold Stone insects or vertebrates was not what we signed up for.

Can we say …… HIRE A NEW MANAGER!!!!!
Every night you clean PERIOD. Use traps like all the other businesses. Hire a exterminating company but comes in cleans once or twice a month. That MUST be part of your business plan.

I suggest that patrons skip the ‘sprinkles’ when placing their order.

If Coldstone has Roaches, every other business attached to it has roaches as well. No matter how clean CSC makes their business, they’re in the shared walls of Chipotle, European Wax Center & Jack’s.

Their crews are probably just better at hiding/cleaning the signs.

When I was a wee lad, we moved into an apartment that had Roaches. No amount of fumigation, traps, or cleanliness could rid the place of ’em. Until the entire building was fumigated. Then it was clear for about 6 months before they were able to repopulate.

The only way to get rid of Roaches is to move. And that’s what we finally did when Mum was too fed up. Don’t patronize any of those businesses until they move or fumigate with industrial level of poison the entire building.

So the ice cream I got last night should be good? 🤦🏻‍♂️

It could be worse, you could buy ice cream from Ron Howard’s brother….https://youtu.be/lEopHQHTLCs

Two words … Beatrix Potter.
