Clayton Valley Charter High School has reached a tentative agreement with their certified union to start a hybrid schedule on March 29.

Students will have the choice to either stay in distance learning full-time, or go back to campus all day, two days a week for in-person learning.

The following information is from CVCHS:

We are excited to share that we have reached a tentative agreement with our certificated union for hybrid instruction. The agreement is being voted on by our teachers and counselors. CVCHS has scheduled a Board meeting for Tuesday, March 23rd. If our certificated employees approve the agreement the CVCHS Board will have it before them for approval on Tuesday night.

If approved, the agreement would provide for hybrid instruction to begin on Monday, March 29.

All students and families are welcome to remain in distance learning if it is not yet time for your child(ren) to return to in-person learning.

  • All students will continue attending all classes currently on their schedule (online or in-person)
  • In-person students will attend either Monday/Tuesday (last names A-K) or Thursday/Friday (last names L-Z) – the survey will allow for adjustment requests based on common households, etc.
  • Students on campus now for cohorts will continue to come to campus for classes with their teachers or cohorts. Any changes will be communicated to these students and families directly.
  • There will be slight changes to the bell schedule including zero period starting at 8:15 a.m. (instead of 8:30 a.m.). School will still end at 2:50 p.m. for all students on block days.

Safe for Clayton to return to two full days a week … with actual TEACHING!

But for the MDEA and MDUSD … 2 hours, twice a week of zero instruction – just a teacher present in the room. We be special at the MDEA …

Home school people…those that started homeschooling over a year ago saw all this BS coming and are way ahead with their kids already. What are you people waiting for?

Waiting for public school unions and the likes to get their heads out of the sand is crazy.

Homeschool?! Some of us aren’t lucky enough to stay home with the kids. Some of us actually have to go to work still. Thanx for your input though.

MDEA and MDUSD are a freakin’ joke. At least CVCHS is really hybrid. The CCCOE needs to take over MDUSD and break it down into small independent districts. And send pink slips to MDEA members (and any other district employees) who refuse to come back to full-time, in-person teaching.

The Teachers should be ashamed of them selves.Letting the union dictate to them.If they love to teach like they say they do go back to work.It is safe to go back.I bet they go to Costco and the grocery store. That is less controlled than schools.

I guess you can’t get the covid 19 virus going to school only 2 day’s a week.

Wait!!! Don’t they serve the same community that MDUSD does with only 2hrs a week? They already had students on campus? I predict many more MDUSD transfers going to CVHS for 2021/2022 school year.

How come only two days a week? It used to be five.

It’s too hard to get off of the gravy train that quickly. The teachers will be traumatized if they are forced to work 5 days a week, without a year’s notice.

Terminate all the teachers.
Give them 7 days to come to 5 day a week classrooms
If not, replace them.

Completely agree. Grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, pharmacists, butchers, retail sales people, dental assistants, mechanics, restaurant servers, plumbers, nurses etc etc etc all have to go to work and interact with the general public … why do teachers expect special treatment??? Get your entitled, demanding butts back in the classroom!!!

Lol, you think the world is full of qualified people willing to do a thankless job for low pay? Good luck with that.

When did they stop being the Ugly Eagles?
Did they finally succumb to the pressure and allow the nicey-nice do-gooders to steal their real name?
Or am I thinking of a different school?

The Clayton Valley Charter are not the Ugly Eagles. The original Ugly Eagles were only when they were Clayton Valley HIgh and not the current imposters.

I’m pretty sure that Clayton Valley Charter still uses the name Ugly Eagles. Even in 1973 I believe the formal names for the teams was “Eagles” and the informal name was “Ugly Eagles.” Take a look at your yearbooks if you still have them.

Good info – thanks CV Grad and WC Res!

Still Ugly Eagles, and there’s no apparent pressure to change.

Just because you have a masters degree and teaching credentials doesn’t mean you’re automatically a good teacher. Far from it!

Being a “professional” is much more than a piece of paper.

MDUSD are either selfish or playing games, using kids as a gambit for their upcoming negotiations for a new MOU. Oakland had to payoff (bribe) their teachers to come back to class with a $2600 one time payment to each teacher. MDUSD is a complete fraud. Their “back to school hybrid” plan for March 29 is FAKE. There is NO in-class teaching! Teaching will continue to teach via telecast online! So why do the kids go to school for 2 hours? To play? No. Not allowed. They go to just sit in a room and a part-time teacher (Full timers are not doing it) to sit there and do nothing? Maybe to finish homework (which most complete while still in class)? BRING BACK TEACHING IN CLASS. Just like all the other surrounding counties. MDUSD teachers are already vaccinated yet they still think it is dangerous. I think the MDUSD teachers are uneducated.
