Following last month’s winter storm in Texas, the national gas price average has jumped nearly 40 cents to $2.86.
Prices will continue to increase this week, especially following the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest weekly reports showing a second week of major decline in gasoline stocks and a substantial increase in U.S. demand.
“On average, Americans are paying 14% more to fill-up compared to February,” said Jeanette McGee, AAA spokesperson. “With increased demand and tighter gasoline supplies, we are looking at more expensive pump prices with little relief in the weeks ahead.”
California has the highest gas prices in the nation, with a price tag of $3.84 a gallon. Hawaii comes in second place, at $3.54.
Did they ignore the station I saw yesterday that was unleaded cash price of $4.44?
Cheapeast prices that I see is at the two World gas stations & the cheapest is at the Mash Gas & Food Station in Orinda which gas at $3.39/3.49 for cash/ credit
Well what else did you expect? What did you not think it would happen this quick or something? Back to the good old days in under 2 months
As Memorial Day approaches and the economy begins opening up, more people will be driving, flying, boating, and other activities that use petrol. OPEC does not currently plan any increase in supply. The Summer blend additives and policies set forth by Biden & Company should drive prices at the pump to $5 a gallon My the month of May. Enjoy….
Thanks, Joe; Thanks, Gavin……A–Holes!
took the words right outta my mouth
I agree
This is how they force us into EVs. And then they will burn coal and aborted babies to power the grid because nuclear is immoral.
Notice though, how the news media is barely touching the subject and when they do they never make a connection of how the Biden/ Harris administration’s war against American energy has anything to do with it. Well they won’t be able to hide it for long as it gets worse and worse and people start to scream uncle.
Still waiting on Gavin to have that investigation into why we pay so my much at the pump. It’s gotta be those oil companies rather than our highest in the nation state & county taxes on gas….
Thank the Gov. and the greenies.
.
Cool. I was buying up oil stocks since Trump was elected. The oil sector was really flat all throughout his term but prices have been increasing since greenbean Biden took office.
.
Thank you.
.
Texas ought to do fine with Biden.
Beijing Biden

Let’s thank Contra Cost County for helping to close the Marathon/Tesoro Refinery.
Work at an industrial facility, environmental enforcers showed up based upon aerial photos. Don’t know if it was county or state. They were sure we’d had a spill incident contaminating dirt and had not reported it.
An sure as heck they found large puddles of liquid, RAIN WATER !
Not so much as we’re sorry, they packed up and drove off.
@ Free,
It was an old refinery but yes, an over-the-top HOSTILE regulatory environment already had Marathon on the road to sell or shut down, and then demand falling off a cliff due to China virus was final straw. Marathon is in permit process to transition to 48K b/day renewable diesel, but probably looking at not starting that up until sometime in 2023 at earliest, and still does next to nothing to fill the void of what was 160K b/day oil refinery.
Along those same lines there was also a $200M hydrogen liquification project down in southern Cal that got scrapped because State of CA was being insanely difficult. Hundreds of jobs and billions $$ economic activity never got to exist in CA…and fun fact, the project and those dollars went to TEXAS.
Would not be surprised if chevron Richmond does same thing Marathon/Tesoro Refinery did.
Dems think we’re all driving electric cars…
And windmills and solar are all we need to power the state.
Way to go Joe!
(and all you boneheads who voted for him!)
You all should not blame Joe Biden or the Democrats. It was not them that caused this..it was the snow & floods in Texas that caused most of this!,,
Biden’s executive orders are to blame. We were oil independent, (except for California) however he signed orders that have stopped our independence. Don’t think OPEC is lowering prices because of our unfortunate weather in TX.
Storms in TX had very little effect on CA. We were still buying foreign oil to make our special blends of gasoline. Foreign oil prices are higher (higher demand due to Biden Exec orders), CA as to get ready for our summer blend of gasoline, so have to empty supply of winter gasoline.
Supply and demand basics and we in California are so very special.
You get what you vote for and sometime more than what you vote for. Way more.
How’s that socialism workin out for al you Biden team members? Suck it Biden and President Harris
well i don’t think i voted for “pay more at the pump” biden…
thanks bob!!
Good chance you did, though
I thought Sleepy Joe was going to give all of us an electric car, I was already planning my trip to the Tesla factory. But then they say the electric grid can not support a major increase in electric car charging.
The good news is the White House subs are out doing a victory lap of “we are from the government and are here to help.” And do not fear the puppet masters are staying behind to keep the executive orders rolling out.
Thanks St. Joe. I hope we get to pay more taxes on the gas too. Still want to know who in the world voted for those gas hikes. Out of their minds. Sham.
It’s excellent news for America First! Good news for American Oil Workers – crude prices going up – means more American wells are brought online and more Americans are working
Suddenly the America First Crowd is upset that America First has a higher price tag.
Of course, a lot of this is because Texas didn’t insulate its energy grid, including the petroleum industry.
But yes, yell Socialism – when the real issue is the Free Market has large fluctuations.
What you’re really upset about is that the gov’t doesn’t have limits on the how much oil companies can charge regardless of their profits.
Ahhhh, free market – so THAT’S why we’re $1/gallon more than the rest of the country! Thank you Rob for that explanation!
.
People need to change their way of thinking. Sort of the way Dems say, “Let no crisis go unexploited”. Ordinary people, not just hedge fund or money managers, should, instead of whining about things, use these crises to build wealth and assets. Ask yourself who wins and who benefits from Federal legislation or societal conditions. Look to them as opportunities to make money.
.
In April 2020, I bought stocks whose value dropped because of Covid… entertainment lodging, airlines, travel, Disney, Hyatt, Southwest Airlines, Caesars Entertainment, etc. Good companies with low values back then. Now stock prices are rising and so are my profits.
.
You can sit there with a victim mentality or use these predictable or reasonably foreseeable patterns to invest your money… a calculated risk.
.
The Biden Administration and House or Reps will be jamming thru an infrastructure bill… roads, bridges, etc. No doubt the bill will have alot of pork. I’m betting on more funding for solar and wind turbine companies to appease the environmentalists but Caterpillar, John Deere, US Steel, US Concrete, Vulcan Materials, and Cemex will likely benefit.
.
And so another cycle begins…
You missed a few days of class.
Enough of your lies, Rob. Since whoever took over The White House after Trump left, it has been nothing but America LAST. Your BS will not be accepted as truth, no matter how many times you repeat it.
Thanks Rob for showing the rest of us at claycord the logic of the liberal mind.
No surprise in California, highest taxes in all categories to pay for all the giveaways and their socialist agenda. Prepare yourself for more increases to pay for those programs. But Newsom is lying and crying to prevent his inevitable recall soon which could turn back some of the policies that will certainly finish bankrupting the state. Glad to see folks from all sides asking for his removal.
Now he has Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren shilling for him. They are here to sell Gavin and Socialism to California. Guaranteed income for the lazy, empty prisons, a wealth tax, reparations, healthcare for illegals, jobs filled by racial quota, and all the weird stuff they think Californians want.
They have misread the will of the people……..by a lot.
Give it six months and check back or give it a year and check prices.
Will they be down or up ? With DEMs prices will be up, they want to create a crisis where non fossil fuel vehicles are supposedly cheaper to operate.
Thanks to all of you who voted for Biden-Harris. You get what you voted for back to the ole democratic rule. What else did you expect we are now backwards to Obama 2.
Biden wants to raise our taxes so this is just the beginning of their control over us. Are ya all happy now? Many did not like Trump but he was way better than this slew of a-holes in power that flows all the way to California via Newsolini. So stop your complaining and do something to gets things back on track.
The Biden/Harris campaign bus pretty much had “Trojan Horse” stenciled on the side of it.
Those who didn’t figure that out, are figuring it out now. Why else would Nance continue to surround the Whitehouse with troops.
“What do you want me to do, Nance?” Cut….go to commercial.
We’ve seen oil at this price and higher in 2018 and in 2019. So how was Trump way better?
C’mon man ! … biden was only sworn in on 20 January, give him some time, prices will get over $6 a gallon. All part of the plan to get people to buy alternative powered vehicles.
biden is long term planner. You didn’t actually believe obama came up with his War on Coal all by himself ? ? ?

Or mass killings in gun free zones, for gun control.
Majority of mass shootings happen in gun free zones.
‘Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990’
“Introduced in the Senate as S.3266 by Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-DE)
on October 27, 1990
Passed the Senate on October 27, 1990 (passed voice vote) ”
Introduced and passed on same day, bet no one read that bill either.
One expensive item like this is probably not a big deal, but when there are many things that are much more expensive than the rest of the country (car registration, power bills, mass transit, groceries, etc.), it creates enough inertia for people to move to other, less expensive states.
Elections have consequences. Unfortunately I have to pay for the stupidity of others.
Thanks, Dopey Joe.
Thanks also for the inevitable price increases in things like food, and much much more. Oh ya, and the thanks in advance for all coming tax increases.
We pay the highest prices for gasoline and they make the gasoline right here.
