Two boys were arrested on multiple charges after a robbery at CVS in Martinez, according to police.
At 11:07 a.m. on Wednesday, officers from the Martinez Police Department were dispatched to a robbery in progress in the pharmacy of the CVS store at 6668 Alhambra Ave.
The suspects were described as two males wearing facemasks and hoodies. As officers were responding, the suspects were able to gain access to the pharmacy and forced several employees into the secure area of the pharmacy, according to police.
With the assistance of the Pleasant Hill Police Department, the store was surrounded.
As officers began evacuating nearby businesses, the suspects attempted to flee and were immediately apprehended, police said.
Both suspects were determined to be juveniles, 17 and 15 years old, from the Solano County area. No one was physically injured during the incident.
They were booked into Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall on the following charges: Robbery, Kidnapping, Kidnapping to Commit a Theft and Criminal Threats.
Probably a couple of poor “yoots” looking for gas money.
– Vinny Gambini: Sure, I’ve heard of grits. I just never actually seen a grit before.”
I wish they “accidentally “fell on their faces during the commission of this robbery and knocked all of their teeth out. That would be the modern-day equivalent of chopping your hand off and quite appropriate
John Burris, Esq. would then begin one of his shakedown operations and then end up with cool million each.
They’d just get gold grills at taxpayer expense.

They weren’t looking for gas money at a pharmacy more like drugs they can sell & I’ll bet my stimulus check on that!!
i am glad I was not in there at the time.
Safe bet when their wallets were searched, Mensa membership cards were not found. Pick a city with few points of egress to start with and then took their time. Both outta be charged with FELONY Stupid.
But, did they need they drugs and cash?
Thank you MPD!
… they will only get a slap on the wrist…. sad state we’re in
DA Becton will make sure they are released without charge and given a ride home. Boys will be boys.
That all depends on whether they can claim victim status or not.
That’s right: DA Becton won’t charge them if they stole because they needed the money to support themselves/ their family. That’s probably why they drove into Contra Costa County to do their crime. Thanks a lot Becton. And thanks a lot George Soros for contributing 200,000 to get her elected.
Sheesh!
Kids….. whatcha gonna do?
How did they get there from out of town, were these fine lads driving without a license too?
What weapons did they use?
211 PC. Robbery is the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force OR fear.
A weapon is not required.
This may very well be a “strong-arm” robbery and not an armed robbery.
Other then the weapon enhancements the penalty is the same.
Public gallows.

I’m glad no one was physically injured, though I’m sure some were upset.
Those boys made a huge mistake.
Now they have to take responsibility for their actions.
I agree with Aunt Barbara, parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children.
So does CoCoCounty still have a juvenile hall? There was talk of closing it. What would come of these two if convicted?
They will be transferred to the California Youth Authority which is a division of the California Department of Corrections.
They can be held in CYA until they are 25 years old. If they are tried as adults AND the sentence is long enough, they will be transferred to the California Department of Corrections to complete their sentences.
CYA, now known as the Division of Juvenile Justice, has been ordered to shut down, no longer accepting juvenile inmates, per Newsom’s order. All juveniles will be transferred and held in the respective county juvenile facilities.
Good work, Martinez Police! These must be the same thieves that robbed the Clayton CVS several weeks ago…
So yet another example of underage violators who should be given adult sentences and go to jail and do the time. Becton and the rest of you useless air sucking politicians take heed. Bet the parents of these losers are sucking the system dry on top of it. The apple does not fall to far from the tree.
Maybe they are the same ones that robbed 2 different CVS stores in Concord a few weeks ago.
@G
must be reparations? LOL
Concord AND CoCo County are Sanctuary status.
With that worthless DA Becton these two and many others will just hop, skip and jump out of Court!
It would be GREAT if any description of perps REGARDLESS of their ages be publicized!! If LEO want the general public to assist with eyes and ears, a more complete descrip would help pinpoint suspect(s)! Being minors and committing felonious crimes should not protect them!!
….. That’s right, they didn’t describe the race of the criminals (again). That’s because they don’t want to perpetuate a stereotype of the people group doing all these crimes. Oh those darn Swedes & Norwegians!
We were there and the police were very professional and patient. They kept us away while the suspects were still in the drugstore, but when one suspect started to run it got hectic, the police were yelling to stop and the police dog was barking as the guy ran toward the new Starbucks and tripped over the railing. He put his hands up and rolled over. I couldn’t see his face because of the hoody but his hands were not dark. My wife saw the other suspect who the police had and said he was not black.
Just because the exposed area of the body is not “dark” does not mean he/she is not of that persuasion! Look at some these celebrities that are black but they are able to use make-up to make their skin tone lighter.
If you are biracial and one of the parents is black, you are black!
So, unless you can see the perps up close and without a “hoodie” to hide other features then a decision can be assessed.
I’m sure if the media were to dig deeper into this they would discover the youths were only trying to obtain bread to help provide foods for their mamas. Programs like WIC, SNAP, Housing vouchers, and Medicad only go so far when waiting for the first of the month.
Big Pharma profits from off the opiate addiction of millions of Americans. So to me this just seems like one group of drug dealers stealing from another.
Criminals are treated as victims, as a response crime is up. Maybe we should take a look at what’s happening with a similar DA in SF and recall Becton.
No description of the poor, oppressed youths? I will guess they are a few of Obama’s misunderstood children.
gosh darn that white privilege!!
LOL
I think they should print the name and picture of the young perps along with the picture of their grandmother.
I was supposed to go to that Walgreens yesterday around the time of the incident, lucky for me I have been sick and wasn’t able to go. I went there today and the perfume counter was broken; I didn’t notice anything else out of the ordinary but I also didn’t know something had happened there. I have spoken with a few retail and bank employees and they have stated to me that they are worry because with so many people wearing masks, it’s hard to tell who may be up to know good and it is a stressful situation for them because they have to constantly be on high alert.
I confused CVS with Walgreens. The Walgreens at 3655 Alhambra Ave was also robbed, that’s what my prior comment was about. The thieves at that Walgreens stole perfumes and colognes (the broke the class case where they are kept) and if I remember correctly, juveniles were also involved. I have noticed that less and less stores have a perfume counter and it’s obviously to prevent more of these types of crimes from happening.
Sad, been going to Virginia Hills shopping center forever, never seen any violence or crime there in all that time. First the burger king closes, and now this!
I really miss the old Starbucks at Virginia Hills. The tables out front provided a great view and entertainment such as parking lot near -misses, easy access to Safeway, and interesting people walking by. Also quick access to the BofA ATMs. New store is WAY over sized and slower service now with the Drive Thru taking up employees time.
