From a friend in Siskiyou County:
WOW! People like to talk but don’t like to learn. As an ICU nurse, let me just share what I see every single night… If you get COVID and you end up in my ICU here is what you can expect: The chances that you will “survive” are EXTREMELY slim. If you DO “survive” this is what it looks like. Increasing need for O2 (oxygen) until we can no longer keep you oxygenated enough to profuse organs and brain on a facemask. At that point you graduate to dependence on a BiPap…a tight face mask during which time you will not be able to eat or drink because your sats will drop as soon as we take the mask off and it takes a while to recover. You will likely become anxious and panicked because you feel like you’re suffocating. You will try to tear that mask off so we will drug you and restrain you. But, you are still a “Full Code” so we will do what we have to to keep you alive. We will do this as long as possible because we know once you go on a ventilator, you will likely never come off. When that no longer is sufficient, you get put on a ventilator. At that point, you are sedated. Next we paralyze you because you’re going to spend 16-18 hours per day prone (on your stomach). You will have a central line, catheter, and rectal tube. After a few days we will start tube feeding. (It takes 4-6 people to turn a vented patient, depending on their size). After 14 days on the vent we will ask your family to decide if they want us to do a tracheotomy for long-term on a ventilator. OR do we remove it and hope for the best (pull and pray)? We will also begin looking for a long term care facility to transfer you to. Likely Sacramento for those of you in Siskiyou County. It won’t matter that you are so far from your family because they haven’t been able to see you anyway. Your nurses have become your surrogate family. In the meantime, we are treating all the secondary problems caused by COVID…cardiac arrhythmias, blood clots, infections, bed sores. Through all of this we HOPE we have given you enough pain medication and sedation while you are paralyzed. (while supplies last, some hospitals have run out) But there is no way to REALLY be sure. And your family is telling us you’re a fighter…continue to do “everything”. Yet they can’t see the suffering you are going through. Now, IF you do survive, you will be months on that ventilator if not indefinitely. Your lungs will be fibrotic and in need of a lung transplant if you are healthy enough at baseline to even get on a list. You will learn to walk again…IF you have use of all your limbs because not all are waking up able to move before heading to LTC. You will never be the same individual that caught COVID in the first place. I can promise you, none of us caring for these patients would choose to “do everything”. We all have a predetermined point that we choose to stop all care and keep me comfortable. And that is for those of us who are young and healthy. I hope you’re not diabetic, or over weight, or Hispanic, or Native, or have COPD or asthma, or cardiac issues, or a combination of these, because your odds are terrible IF you get COVID. I cannot think of a single side effect that the vaccine could cause that would be worse than what I have just described. Even if we find in a few years the vaccine causes cancer…people survive cancer all the time.
That’s a totally innumerate comment. I have no doubt it really is like that for the worst cases. But catching Covid isn’t an automatic death sentence!
It’s a darn good thing only .03% of us will die from covld. Not bad odds when one considers the myriad of other possible causes.
Your friend sounds like they belong in a mental institution. You can just read the survival statistics lmao
That’s funny since most people survive COVID. Doesn’t sound like this made up nurse knows what they are talking about. Most also recover without a problem. People survive cancer all the time? Well, people survive covid all the time. So, yeah. This is hogwash and it is irresponsible to post this.
This is a total lie.
As of today Siskiyou County, California has a grand total of 13 deaths from the Wuhan virus (if you can even believe those stats) and FIVE people in the hospital. It’s over. Biden knows it too.
https://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/publichealth/page/covid-19-current-statistics
Please read the post (and especially the last paragraph) much more carefully.
My friend is trying to get through to you that people already having serious medical problems stand little chance of fighting off the COVID virus. Therefore, she is advocating that all of us get the vaccine as quickly as it becomes available to us.
The description of what a COVID death is like for both the patient and caregivers is accurate.
Your denials, ad hominem attacks, and attempts to divert to other subjects are ineffectual. This professional is trying to save lives.
@ Antler,
I know 7 people who got it and they all decided to stay home and loaded up on building up their immune system. The worst symptoms that I heard was that for one day they felt like they got hit by a truck. After that, they started feeling better. Now all 7 are fine and all went back to work.
Thank you Antler, the ignorance on this thread is so sad. Many people will not learn until it affects them directly.
Anecdote
: an·ec·dote
/ˈanəkˌdōt/
noun
a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.
“told anecdotes about his job”
Similar: story tale narrative sketch urban myth urban legend reminiscence yarn shaggy-dog story
An account regarded as unreliable or hearsay – See Bull $hit
So was your intent to advocate for Euthanasian; to tell everyone if you catch Covid-19 you should just do yourself & your family a favor and commit suicide because you are doomed or that the Government has been lying about the survival rate? I’m confused.
Anecdotal
You used a personal experience or an isolated example instead of a sound argument or compelling evidence.
It’s often much easier for people to believe someone’s testimony as opposed to understanding complex data and variation across a continuum. Quantitative scientific measures are almost always more accurate than personal perceptions and experiences, but our inclination is to believe that which is tangible to us, and/or the word of someone we trust over a more ‘abstract’ statistical reality.
Your hearsay story no more conclusive than if I said I know of no one who has contracted Covid-19 thus Covid-19 is not dangerous.
This description of the COVID ICU medical worker’s experience sounds very similar to several others I have read. I don’t believe they’re making it up, and why would they spent their free time doing that? I never imagined our family would lose my husband’s only brother this way. He always was as strong as a bull. A fighter. One of my lifelong friend’s brother has always been described the same way. These men are both people who’ve overcome all sorts of life’s obstacles and with flying colors. My friend’s brother has been in the ICU for two weeks, and all we can do is pray. I have three other relatives with it, and three more who have had it. It isn’t too bad for many people, but from what I understand it’s a roll of the dice as to how hard it’s going to hit. I hope no one else I know gets it. We are all trying to stay safe. I know I don’t want it. Thank you for your post, Antler.

Noj,
You posted that there have only been 3 CORVID deaths in
Siskiyou County.
The actual report from there…. as of January 22, 2021:
There have been 625 deaths.
The population of that county is not high. Many residents live far apart from one another on ranches, etc., so to them that number of deaths is heart-rending. I follow Siskiyou County because we had property there and have friends there.
When the vaccine was announced available, the line of cars in county seat Yreka was quite long. Some people evidently waited over 2 hours, only to find that the vaccines were gone before it was their turn.
Oh, Antler. Keep digging in. To say that it is just fine to get cancer from a vaccine to avoid a virus with a fairly low death rate? That is inexcusable and reckless. I have see VERY medically i people get it. So, if you want to trade anecdotal stories, at east mine is from me and not a made up nurse somewhere. Al of those very medically ill people? Most didn’t even have symptoms! They are fine.
to Oh, Please,
You need to work harder on your reading comprehension! Unfortunately….. unless you are DELIBERATELY twisting my friend’s words and also my own…… you seem to be blowing lies in the wind.
Antler- lol. You keep thinking that. You can re-read what you typed, but I have no problems with reading comprehension. Also, you were blatantly discredited by the actual COVID death count in the county you referenced. So, nice fake story and nice false numbers. Go and peddle you sky is falling narrative somewhere else. Most of the folks here are too smart to fall for this. An they are smart enough to realize COVID is nothing compared to a cancer diagnosis! And this is coming from me, an actual medical provider.
Hmm, Why Is Gavin Newsom Hiding Coronavirus Data from the Public?

Do not sign the petition to recall Newsom online. You must physically sign the petition in order for it to count. There is a recall petition locator on the website.
Get off your @$$ and sign it, and take ten friends with you.
1.2 Million valid petitions have been signed..
Recall organizers have until March 17th to collect 1,495,709 signatures.
At Antler,
But why do these LIARS refuse to tell the public about Vitamin D, C or Zinc???
BTW, no Hydroxychloroquine is good to use per the Lancet.
Sick of all of the lies. These medical Practitioners have blood on their hands. LIARS.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ha2mLz-Xdpg
big pharma won’t get rich and those politicians won’t get kick back
God bless America
Oops, I meant to post: NOW Hydroxychloroquine is okay to use as a treatment per the Lancet.
Please read the last paragraph more carefully!
As an aside, most people I know are already taking the supplements you name (plus others). That cannot even protect a person from a common cold!
Her message is GET VACCINATED!
…..aaaannnnddddd that’s where you are wrong.
You should familiarize yourself with the Coimbra Protocol.
Unless you enjoy being sick.
From a friend in Contra Costa County:
“If…if…if…if…if…if…if…if…”
“The World Health Organization (WHO) has cautioned experts not to rely solely on the results of a PCR test to detect the CCP virus. In updated guidance published on Jan. 20, the WHO said that lab experts and health care practitioners should also consider the patient’s history and epidemiological risk factors alongside the PCR test in diagnosing the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus. The new guidance could result in significantly fewer daily cases. “Most PCR assays are indicated as an aid for diagnosis, therefore, health care providers must consider any result in combination with timing of sampling, specimen type, assay specifics, clinical observations, patient history, confirmed status of any contacts, and epidemiological information,”
The liars are lying to you. Even the biggest liars are now advocating to reopen our crippled economy. Siskiyou County has no pandemic. They have 13 (now questionable) deaths through TWO flu seasons.
“Her message is get vaccinated.”
SFGATE Jan. 22, 2021 Updated: Jan. 22, 2021 11:38 a.m.
California now ranks dead last in administering COVID-19 vaccines
Bad news: Other states have also picked up the pace, and California now ranks 50th out of 50 states in percentage of shots used..
California now ranks last. Tell that to your friend in Siskiyou.

“Even if we find in a few years the vaccine causes cancer…people survive cancer all the time.”
Oh wow what a great point. I will get a vaccine that is made with a new technology previously only tested on mice up until now with very limited studies. I may possibly get cancer from the vaccine down the line but hey, “people survive Cancer all of the time!” So worth it, right?
But here is the kicker… Big pharma profits big-time off of Cancer treatments and many times newer treatments are not covered by insurance because they are considered “experimental” and families understandably will do anything to help their loved one and in turn they lose their house from the mounting treatment bills.
Fear is well known as the most effective psychological method to control the masses. Every time I post that my mother’s entire family, all nine of them, contracted the Spanish Flu in the pandemic of 1918-19 and they all survived without a visit from a doctor, somebody disables my wifi for several hours. That’s how much the truth matters anymore.
It sounds like a computer virus, have you tried a mask?
The next time your wifi goes out, take a little hike to the cemetery at Black Diamond and count the graves of all the children that were buried there around 1918.
Well that solves that one of my mysteries of life Cowellian. Visiting there we always wondered at the seemingly large number of children’s deaths marked then. We chalked it up to some sort of epidemic, but we forgot about that one. The dates sure are right for it
Any conclusion based totally on 13 deaths and 1,484 total cases is statistically non-significant and is meaningless on its own.
“I’m saving lives” or any variation of “saving lives,
is a statement that indicates responsibility and accountability no longer matter.
The constitution, laws, integrity, good character values, and everything else that is decent and wholesome must be ignored.
Gosh, I wish the same people who proclaim to be saving lives felt the same way about mass abortion.
