I need to comment that my son needs to be in school. He is special needs and very social. He doesn’t want his moms help with work or with online help. He wants to be independent although he can’t be. He needs daily interaction and to make some friends. Lets not talk about one-sided comments. ALL our kids are needing their teachers and friends. My child cant go to school but I can go to Ross and shop for hours with a bunch of stangers.

You have to love how nobody here wonders why Claycord never pushes videos from doctors who want the schools closed – or who agree with the lockdowns. Pretty one-sided reporting, but it is what it is. It must be there aren’t any, right? *cough*
Claycord would let YOU post a link to doctors who want the schools, If you can find one. No “dr” jill biden doesn’t count. And for equality Dr. Dre is out as well
Go ahead joe blo show us these “doctors”
Slamming a local message board as one sided for well rounded reporting is just the thing marxists who push cancel culture do. Don’t act like a marxist
Joe B. Pretty arrogant of you. Like Sam states, let’s see some links. Where, anywhere, have you heard a doctor say they recommend that the schools be closed? It’s obvious that you haven’t broused the comments section much. Yes, there’s a few forward types commenting. Ibut I’ve read many very intelligent views and it’s led me to other paths too.
AND specifically just what reporting is one sided?
You can link to the whole Supervisors meeting through this site. Many of the articles are word for word the ones I read on CBS local.
And find me a restaurant owner that agrees with the lockdown.
Cough cough
Unlike other media outlets, I bet your comment would not be censored here. Like anyone going against the “great State” would be on any other “news” site.

Welcome back Sam 🙂
Yesterday, I listened to One of my kid’s teachers going off ( she is not a Dr or scientist ) on how kid’s should not be back in school in person because it is way too dangerous for the children’s health to be together in class.
thankfully my son (10) wouldn’t be scared to be with his peers back in a classroom but I feel really bad for the kid’s that she scared.
Looks like someone has invented their own facts here. Just to correct the misinformation, here’s this from the CDC.
COVID-19 in Children and Teens http://www.cdc.gov › daily-life-coping › children › symptoms;
“Most children with COVID-19 have mild symptoms or have no symptoms at all. However, some children can get severely ill from COVID-19. They might require hospitalization, intensive care, or a ventilator to help them breathe. In rare cases, they might die.
CDC and partners are investigating a rare but serious medical condition associated with COVID-19 in children called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). We do not yet know what causes MIS-C and who is at increased risk for developing it.” http://bit.ly/3nNi8vL
Marco- you reading comprehension is poor I said the teacher is inappropriate and to report them. I, myself, am at work daily face-to-face with my patients. NOT cowering in place. And not misreading things that people post on the internet.

When masks are required and there are no beds available in hospitals, it’s pretty freaking clear that school isn’t a priority right now. Stay home.
Speak for your own state. Those of us who were able and wise enough to move to states who aren’t on perpetual lock down have been in School since August. I am guessing you really meant to say “we move slow here in California.” Feel sorry for the children of MDUSD….unions run your state and lives.

Vaccinate the teachers and open the schools. Any teachers that refuse to get a vaccination and also refuse to return to the classroom can hit the road. Many other workers have put on their grown up pants and have gone to work everyday without the vaccine.
Absolutely wrong to suggest teachers be required to take vaccine or lose their jobs! Are you now going to make judgements on every job category and their employees? Our teacher family member has wanted to return to the classroom from day one. She has done an outstanding job with online teaching, and has received many compliments and thanks from her students and their parents. It is heartbreaking for her to see some kids struggling and depressed. But you and your family members are perfectly welcome to take her place in line for the vaccine which so far has shown side effects. More power to you.
to @America….would you agree if the above poster used “Or” as in they refused to get the vaccine or refused to go back to in person teaching then they should hit the road? I agree teachers should have a choice but the end result is they have no choice to go back to school and teach in person.
I’m betting if the teachers didn’t have the option of teaching online and they were all out of work and not receiving a paycheck then the union would be screaming to open the schools asap. Not resisting with all kinds of demands. Here’s a question for you America: If the State opened all the schools today, how many of the teachers would vote to immediately return to the classroom and how many would resist until a multitude of demands were met and want to continue with online teaching? My original point being if the teachers want to refuse the vaccine then that’s their right but it shouldn’t be an excuse to avoid getting back to the classroom.
They call it riding the gravy train.
There is no covid vaccine and there is no covid. The new york times just confirmed what most of us already knew. What they call COVID-19 is and always was the common cold. They played us. Take off your mask and celebrate, the super deadly and highly contagious virus that was going to kill us all is not real. Now we fix the media and deep state.
America- but many of them want to mandate it for kids. If it is mandated for kids, then it should be for teachers too. If teachers say they will not go back to in person teaching if kids don’t have the vaccine, then they need to pony up. I am certainly talking about teachers in general. And, I don’t really believe it should be mandatory. But, I believe it should be mandatory for teachers to go back in person NOW.

I wonder how many times teachers will say “WE WANT TO GO BACK TOO” before it sinks in to the heads of the folks on this site. We AGREE, their mental health, confidence, social skills, literacy, and other skills are suffering as a result of this. We understand the significant loss they are facing. We want them back in the classroom…
HOWEVER, when the district refuses or is unable to provide a safe way to do this, many of us are forced to make the difficult call that supports staying in distance learning. Yes, children may spread the virus at a much lower rate. The kids are not the only people who are on school campuses. The 25%+ staff members who are high risk need to be protected. The kids with high risk family members need to be protected. Pre-teens and teens spread the virus at the same rate as adults, so middle and high schools require MORE safety protocols. At this point, it’s about weighing what will provide the best education for the highest number of kids and at the lowest risk. Without school in session, 11 of my students have contracted the virus. If schools reopen, we will face huge spikes that will then call for closures again, or modifications or substitutes who are wholly unqualified.
We want to go back. We miss our jobs. We miss our kids. We miss seeing them every day, waving to them in the halls, asking how their day is, and seeing in person whether or not they understand what we are teaching. Distance learning is SO HARD for all of us; kids, parents, teachers, but the district leadership has failed on so many accounts to provide a safe, BETTER option. At least with distance learning, there’s no distribution to their schedules when we try to return, have an outbreak and then have to go back to distance learning.
If you’re angry about this, I understand. Funding has been mismanaged in this district for quite some time, and now they do not have the funding necessary to create a viable return to campus plan, lest the virus be eradicated and we can all just go back to normal. I hope you understand though, in your demands to pull funding, to fire teachers, to sue the district, you’re literally making things worse for kids in the long run. Less funds means even less ability to provide meaningful education, firing teachers in a time where there are zero daily subs and not many opportunities to hire replacements means your child will just go without a teacher, or be thrown into another class with too many kids. The system is flawed… the solution is not smashing it to dust. We need repairs, interventions, solid, logical responses.
Your complaints that tear educators down are doing no good. If you really want to see what it’s like when teachers do 50% of the work or are “checked out” or just collecting a paycheck, keep disparaging them. Keep blaming them for problems completely out of their hands, keep placing the responsibility for caring for and raising your children on their shoulders. Burn out is real. This is a terrible time for educators. We hate it. You hate it. We hate the same thing. You add hating us to the mix. We hate that. We still love your kids, though.
I have also heard from teachers (a variety of sources) that they vehemently disagree with school curriculums regarding the bending of agenda morals. But, if they don’t comply, they will lose their jobs. The children are then transferred to different schools. Or, home schooled. With a committed parent homeschooling can be an asset.
Baloney. The fact that kids are in the home now gives parents a much better understanding of what is being taught. That is a huge reason for the anger and contempt toward teachers. Hello? Are you awake out there? How can they have a student that does not know Mississippi is a state (not just a river) or think Australia is a country in Europe, yet are being tested on the Virginia Slave Laws? That is not a joke. That is real. I am not making this up, those are real conversations I’ve had with students. The slave laws are being taught instead as part of the political indoctrination. So no, the teachers do not love the kids. They love propaganda.
Thank you!
You know who don’t hear complaining? Our grocery store workers and our hospital workers. If they can do it so can teachers!
Hear, hear! Both of us work in person and are GLAD to do so. I won’t abandon my folks, unlike many teachers out there.
