At least they didn’t hit the fence again.

We just recently set an all time *(5 year) record of a straight 4 months without a car going through the fence at the corner of Concord Ave. and Gallindo, *it was hit 2 weeks ago. Let us not jinx the White Picket Fence.

Well the overhead sign, which is way too small, indicating lane function helps, as did indenting the fence into the vacant lot at the corner. Made a run out area slightly larger than stopping distance for people that still screw up.

Might wanna try an overhead sign before the intersection or make existing overhead sign 50% larger.

Still think Mr. Mayor’s 2016 replacement fence is way to go ! ! !

Such precise elegance for that date, must be preserved for the ages

Dang it, forgot the URL, hit submit too soon.

“The fence completely surrounds the empty property on Galindo between Clayton Rd. & Concord Blvd.

One of the reasons the fence will be installed, according to the report, is because vandals and vehicles keep damaging the picket fence.”

I drive that everyday and cannot grasp how that happens…OTHER THAN red light runners.
Or maybe the Windshield was Tinted and their visibility was affected.
Concord is all about Tinted Windshields……even the car dealerships are now selling vehicles with illegal tint on the Windshields.

The Wizard January 10, 2021 - 1:42 PM - 1:42 PM

I never seen a front windshield done just the side windows and rear.
In California it now legal to get your front sides done if you have a prescription from a doctor.

I like how you blame it on possibly tinted windows 🙄 but not the fact that the person was speeding, not paying attention, ran the light? Or just a dumbass driver. Last time I checked tinted windows don’t cause rollover accidents but oookkkkk.

The Wizard, … Gives a whole new meaning to frontal impact.

Your reading comprehension is lacking. Tinted winDOWS is a lost battle, HOWEVER…..Tinted Windshields is a growing problem that Concord PD REFUSES to deal with.

And yes, it is dangerous.

We have a tinted windshield on one of our cars. During the day you can see through it just fine. It’s only done with 35%, so it’s not super dark. It does suck at night though.

I trust no hydrants were harmed, . . .

FPN January 10, 2021 - 3:08 PM - 3:08 PM

I see tinted front windshields all over Concord. But I pay attention, being a woman tinted windows are scary. Nothing like giving our predators dark windows to hid behind.

Noticed several times at that intersection cars turn left on Clayton when the light turns green for Galindo cars to go forward. Not sure why but possibly all the green when light changes.

Notice that the vehicle with the higher center of gravity is the one on its roof.
