Our loved ones in long-term health facilities are sitting ducks with 45 active outbreaks! I ask, why do they keep changing the tracking systems? Are they padding the numbers…the optics of this is undeniable!

The ‘math’ was explained yesterday but it is still ridiculous how the calculations are done. We have a higher percentage of beds available but physically we have less beds available.
Yesterday we had 169 beds! Today, as this event rages on, we now only have 162 beds. yeah … The percentages are not a gimmick at all.
San Pablo has been the hottest of the hotspots in the County for months now. So far, that hasn’t changed. Measured by cases in the past 14 days, San Pablo’s case number increased fully five percent in only two days. With 9.4% of the city’s population confirmed to have had Covid, it seems the infections should start to slow down soon. Unfortunately, there’s no evidence of any slowing as yet. It’s hard to imagine what our hospitals would look like, if the rest of the county should approach a similar infection rate.
The Pomo Indian Lytton Casino in San Pablo has been exercising their tribal Indian sovereignty rights and opened up without County Health consent…they are definitely a Petri dish area to avoid!

Why are non-LTCF deaths in Antioch, Richmond, Concord, & Pittsburg so high compared to other cities? Is it a function of population size?
The hot spots are a combination of population and that those cities tend to be lower rent areas where essential workers can almost afford to live. The essential workers make it semi affordable by having either multiple generations of a family and/or multiple families sharing a house or apartment.
Many essential workers have regular, if not constant, exposure to the general public. When one person catches COVID-19 it’s often transmitted to others as they are living in high density environments.
I’m also starting to see workers at places such as Safeway not consistently wearing masks when when working indoors. Many of these tend to be obnoxious bullies meaning co-workers either don’t try to stop the bad behavior or back off when the bully barks. Safeway corporate ignores the issue. See this statement for example where I see that Safeway “encourages” but does not require masks, social distancing, etc. Thus, the bad behavior, and COVID-19, will continue.
In the past 24 hrs, 590 have recovered. 😊
Here’s the breakdown as ten new deaths were reported:
