Starting Sunday evening, all campgrounds, visitor centers and playgrounds throughout the East Bay Regional Park District will be shuttered to comply with new orders from county health officers, parks officials said Saturday.
The closures are effective at 6 p.m. Sunday, park district officials said.
Health officers in five Bay Area counties and the city of Berkeley on Friday announced a new stay-at-home order to prevent the spread of coronavirus requiring most nonessential businesses to close indoor and outdoor operations.
Camp reservations made through Jan. 4 will be cancelled, including for the Sibley backpack camp, and customers will receive full refunds, parks officials said.
Parks and trails are still open, but park district officials advise visitors to wear masks when within six feet of others and follow COVID-19 safety requirements.
Wait… I thought you can’t catch this thing outside!? These health officials are worthless. People are becoming far more unhealthy by keeping them inside, not allowing them to go to the gym or many other things. Zero scientific evidence to back these lockdowns. Time to recall Newsom and these officials and put them on trial for criminal negligence.
At some point, people are going to have to realize and acknowledge that this is much more than a NON ISOLATED “virus”……and something far more sinister.
It will be 2023 and you’ll all still be masked and on restriction if you DO NOT make your voices known AMERICAN STYLE!!!
Just a play by the government to not let any crisis go to waste. They are trying to use the pandemic to fully control our lives. I suspect the local government officials (park, health dept, etc.) will be issued brownshirts soon.
I, for one, shall follow the guidance and protocols of my esteemed elected officials as indicated by their actions below:
🤮— Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot got her hair done, although salons and barbershops across the city were forced to remain closed.
🤬— Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney was caught dining at a friend’s restaurant in Maryland while restaurants across his city were forced to remain closed.
🤫— Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam was seen visiting Virginia Beach shortly after the city’s reopening in May. He was not social distancing — in fact, he was seen taking pictures with constituents and visiting Mayor Bobby Dye.
🤑— New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham purchased jewelry from a store in Albuquerque after she ordered the closure of all nonessential businesses.
🤣— House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited a shuttered San Francisco salon in September to get her hair done. Local ordinances required the salon to remain closed, but Pelosi managed to work her way in.
🤡— California Gov. Gavin Newsom attended a dinner party at the French Laundry restaurant in the Bay Area earlier this month in direct violation of his own coronavirus restrictions. Pictures of the event revealed that he was not the only official breaking the rules: Several top medical officials also attended the indoor party. Newsom later called the dinner a “bad mistake.”
👽— New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo canceled his Thanksgiving plans after being called out for inviting his 89-year-old mother and two daughters to travel to his residence in Albany. He announced his intention to celebrate the holiday with his family members after spending several days urging residents not to travel.
😫— Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser traveled to Delaware earlier this month to participate in an election night celebration for President-elect Joe Biden. The city’s rules require anyone traveling to a potential hot spot, which includes Delaware, to quarantine for two weeks after returning. But Bowser said she would not quarantine and claimed the event was “essential” travel.
😆— Denver Mayor Michael Hancock revealed that he traveled to Mississippi for Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday with his wife and daughter, even though he had urged others to stay home and celebrate alone if need be.
🤧— San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo violated his own restrictions over Thanksgiving by celebrating the holiday with family members outside of his own household. He also traveled to his parents’ house to attend a dinner with them and an unknown number of other guests.
😱— Just hours after voting to ban outdoor dining in Los Angeles, County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl was caught dining at a restaurant in Santa Monica, where she dined outdoors. Kuehl had just described outdoor dining as “a most dangerous situation” during the County Board of Supervisor meeting, arguing that hundreds of patrons could expose their servers to the coronavirus.

How do you spell “hypocrites?”
Hopefully people will remember this when these elected officials are up for re-election and VOTE THEM OUT!!
It doesn’t matter your thoughts on how Covid-19 is being handled or not handled, the attitude and mind-set of elected officials to expect us to “do as I say, not as I do” is ridiculous!
Some of these restrictions are self contradictory.

I really feel that the outdoor restrictions are just theater – look, I’m a politician and I’m DOING something!
Where is the factual, scientific evidence that any of this will affect the spread, negatively or positively, of the virus?
