“Close the bars and keep the schools open,” Dr. Anthony Fauci says, adding that while there is no solution that is “one size fits all,” the “best way to ensure the safety of the children in school is to get the community level of the spread low.” https://t.co/txCs2tyc80 pic.twitter.com/6IAyd3q4U7

What do you expect from a 5 foot Geek?
He had NO right funding those Wuhan coronavirus labs either.
This guy is like Biden, he is a flip flopper . No one day and yes another. I say Fire Fauci !
I guess all of you critical of Dr. Fauchi has a background in science. He cannot be fired he is a civil servant (does not mean I agree with that policy). I listen quite often to conservative talk show host Tom Sullivan, he has some good information on the virus, he is neither on Trump’s side or anyone else, he is just trying to be factual. As he pointed out, this virus is new and doctors and scientists are learning new things all the time. Science is not set in stone, as the virus evolve so does the scientist studying it.
Exactly Hanni. He’s a lifelong bureaucrat. Not voted in. Raking in the taxpayer dough. Acting like he’s our daddy and has authority to tell us what we should and should not be doing. Not his place!! And what does he understand about economics and the bigger picture? Nothing. That’s not his area of expertise.
Didn’t you know HJ, someone should never change their stance on something once they form an initial opinion. Even if new information comes to light they should always double, triple, and even quadruple down and dig their heels in on their original stance. They should never consider take anything into consideration other than what they first thought!
@Day n Night:
Yeah, except the data on school age children has existed virtually unchanged since the beginning. What took this “expert” so long to see what many have seen for months?
I saw on a local media that a group parents out of Oakland have sued the State for failing our students during these covid times.
Shiloh, I believe Dr. Fauchi is suggesting what’s the best way to beat the virus, you just perceive it as he is commanding you what to do. He is not.
Fauci’s full of fecal.
I just got a good dose of laughing inducing endorphins from your post!
Yup! Exactly right @ Chris
Trump said it and he was attacked
Fauci says it and it’s science and he’s a hero
Hypocrites
Didn’t he is also say it was OK to “hook-up” with a stranger during this pandemic?
Gonna be tough for them teachers drinkin alone 😉
First time I heard a political figure say there’s no “one size fits all” solution. That’s rich.
Thank you.
California champagne limousine liberal politicians are always leading by example…NOT!

I guess the owners of The French Laundry must be major donors of the Democrat party.
Sounds pretty fishy to me. Lot’s of Dirty Laundry going on up there!
Meanwhile across the world, countries are opening up and existing their financial recession period .. while this one is getting worse.
I’m sure it has NOTHING to do with people (like many people here) choosing to not comply with health orders and insulting those that do. The mindset of people here is boggling .. but hey, if people just followed directions, took this all seriously, and whatnot months ago, we’d be in a better place. But hey, gotta blame someone other than ourselves, right? As long as you feel good about yourself, that’s all that matters.
Do you actually read about what is happening elsewhere? Europe locked down way more strictly and still had a big second spike. They have largely gone back to harsh restrictions or are considering it. “If everyone just behaved themselves we would be done by now” is just a moral fantasy that gives you someone to blame. It’s totally untrue. It doesn’t survive the slightest scrutiny.
The few countries that have virtually eliminated Covid, if you read about their approach, and situation, you will see why they are not comparable to the US. New Zealand is a remote island with a small population. And to “succeed” they had their military enforcing house arrest on citizens. Australia similar, though bigger. That’s never going to happen here, thank goodness.
Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea – basically shredded any civil liberties and/or medical privacy. Their populations have way, way more trust in government, and their government is vastly more competent, so that makes sense! China ramped up its surveillance of citizens to 1984 levels and locked people in their buildings. Canada: harsh lockdowns with tiny numbers of Covid cases – totally disproportionate response. Japan – not really clear what is going on there. Lots of social trust, yes, but there may be other factors at play with regard to cross-immunity in some parts of the world. Hard to explain SE Asia without that.
Someone has to throw the troll a snack, so here goes. Who is opening up around the world? Europe? Australia? They followed directions and now they’re locked down again. The LA Times said the state would have been better off if we had all only followed San Francisco as an example. How are they doing on the other side of the bridge right now? Their mayor is crossing county lines and skirting “directions” to dine in the most expensive restaurant in the area while restaurants and small businesses in her own city are closing left and right. Personal accountability also means admitting when you’re wrong. Those in charge would rather throw it in our faces ( blaming us all the while) before they’d even think of doing that.
I agree with you, I also agree with Led that a second wave is hitting Europe and and other countries around the world. I was just on a Danish news website, and after almost being back to normal they are imposing restrictions again. Of course this time of the year is the worst for colds, flu etc. in Denmark as the weather is cold and humid, right around freezing with a lot of humidity. It actually feels warmer when it is dryer and more frost. However, it seems that in this second wave of the victims hospitalized the fatality rate has fallen from about 25% to 8%. They are doing a lot of testing and people that seek medical attention earlier do better, some other factors, doctors not sure of everything. So as the virus continues to evolve so does the treatment and knowledge. There Aunt Barbara do you want to try to sell me snake oil? You know where to find me.
You guys REALLY need to start looking outside of that bubble you put yourselves in …
NSW Australia – https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-nsw-restrictions-ease-ahead-3000-people-allowed-outside-events
(I won’t post any more direct links to avoid a spam detection issue – instead, copy the next part and plop it into Google for the articles if you wish).
UK – Across the UK, some restrictions will be relaxed over Christmas, to allow three households to form a “Christmas bubble”. (Pick a news article)
Italy – (via Bloomberg) “Italy eases restrictions for Milan,Turin with outbreak slowing.
Japan – (not an article – an observation). They’re mostly fine and go about things close to normal with the exception of minor restrictions and mask-wearing (which was always a thing before COVID though not as much of course). Day to day life goes on – restaurants open, theaters open, concerts running.
*** But wait … APNews – “The Latest: Japan’s confirmed COVID-19 cases hit new record.” ***
On the flip side to all of this, COVID cases are going up severely now over there .. but I’m guessing that has *NOTHING* to do with all these “freedoms” being available to its people. It’s weird, right? Things are open without restrictions and people find a way to screw it up. Things are locked down for a bit and things get better — that is, of course, until people scream “communism” and “liberals” (even in countries without those designations) and demand “their freedom back” from being over-tired of everything. Guess what – now they’ll be going into a lockdown to prevent the cases from drastically rising and help control the spread in their country. I’m willing to bet though, that you won’t find many (if any) articles about their “national uprising” from people wanting their “freedoms” back and instead find a culture where living together and helping each other, as opposed to “all for me and me for me” is more common ground for betterment.
(Oh, and in before the “blind sheep” comment people here like to say without backing up their words. It’s okay – it’s how it is around here. Also calling people a “troll” because you don’t understand their opinion is something the kids in middle school do – so that says a bit about the age (mental age?) of some people posting here. That along with all those conspiracy theories of how “everyone lies to us” … woooooo … scary!!
Just imagine going through life thinking that everything is a conspiracy and the world is out to get you every day. What a life!
Have a good one, folks. Try not to hurt yourselves out there with all that “5head” (did I use that teen term correctly?) conspiracy thinking.
These elitist snobs ooze BS
I suspect you (and a few others) didn’t watch the video. He notes in the interview that if you want to keep schools open and protect children you need to mitigate the activities that create increased community spread (thus closing bars). He notes that children seem to pass the virus to each other less than predicted.
If we are looking at Trump’s track record on comments about the virus vs Fauci we should note:
– He made fun of wearing masks
– He called it a Democrat hoax
– He suggested we treat it with ultraviolet light inside the body
– He said warm weather would make it go away
Bars are having a tough time right now and Moscow Mitch continues to refuse to move forward with stimulus plans that can help small businesses.
@Chuq:
“He called it a Democrat hoax”
He did no such thing, he called the Dem’s politicism of his response to the virus their latest hoax. But I hold out zero hope that you’ve the intellectual honesty to fact check yourself.
Oops. *Politicization.
