Health officers from four Bay Area counties, including Contra Costa, are expressing their support for Santa Clara County’s new health order restricting “higher-risk” activities to reduce what they say is the likelihood of hospitals becoming overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients.
Santa Clara County officials estimate that hospitals in their county will reach or exceed capacity in the coming weeks if they do not take decisive action to stem the spread of COVID.
Given their situation, Santa Clara County officials announced they would enact new rules for businesses and residents, which go into effect on Monday, Nov. 30.
The new rules reduce the number of customers allowed in stores at a given time, limit hotels to only essential travel and require travelers coming into Santa Clara County from distances greater than 150 miles to quarantine for 14 days.
They also temporarily prohibit youth, collegiate, and professional contact sports in Santa Clara County.
While health officials in neighboring Bay Area counties say they haven’t reached the same critical point as Santa Clara, they may also have to take similar actions soon in order to preserve remaining regional hospital capacity to treat both COVID and non-COVID medical conditions.
There are currently 759 COVID-19 patients in Bay Area hospitals.
“COVID doesn’t care about borders or county lines. What is happening in Santa Clara County now may reach that level elsewhere in the Bay Area in the near future,” said Dr. Chris Farnitano, Contra Costa County’s Health Officer.
The more they take away freedoms, the more people are losing interest in this scam,.everyone but popcorn, and others that stay at home and do nothing all day anyway. They see this as revenge on those that are free thinkers and not brainwashed by peer pressure and fear mongering.
(wear a mask,stop murdering people!!!…)………Yea,those kind.
Why is wearing a simple cloth mask so inconvenient that it qualifies as repression?
Lockdowns aren’t working. Will they ever figure that out?
it wasnt meant to work,it was an IQ test. And the average IQ is sadly.100
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. All it takes is a handful of deniers or a counter science Supreme Court ruling and it keeps spreading.
@ Doh
So your idea is to ignore the Constitution since it is clearly anti-science and institute a totalitarian government? Maybe King Gavin, the First of his Name should execute a few people like Kim Jong Un has to get the “weakest links” in line?
I’m sure you would make a great High Inquisitor.
Janus -your bring up the constitution is flawed logic. Imagine during the WWII London blitz if people said “I’ll leave my lights on if I want to.”
Lockdowns do work when people do what needs to be done. Except 1/2 the country is dumb.
If we had done this right months ago, we would be fine. Instead people want to argue about masks and death rates and say we live in a totalitarian government (which we don’t and apparently you have no idea what that actually means)
Let’s ask Vietnam or South Korea or China or New Zealand or Australia
Doh
Show me where I have an inalienable right as enumerated in the Bill of Rights to keep my window shades open because I can show you exactly where I have the right to assemble, worship and speak my mind.
You don’t like the fact that the Constitution puts limits on Government and unelected bureaucrats. It is way past time SCOTUS started putting limits on this power grab. SCOTUS rules on the law, not your fears or science.
Emergency powers are short in duration. Emergencies are not 8 months and counting – that is premancy. The Executive and Legislative branches have had plenty of time to craft laws to address this issues. Laws that can then be tested in the Judicial branch yet we still have the Governor and buracates making up the rules as they see fit with almost zero oversight. Almost as if they were above the law.
Rights that can be suspended at the whim of a politician or unelected bureaucrat are no rights at all. They are arbitrary and capricious “privileges”.
If you want to change the Bill of Rights so a politician or unelected bureaucrat can capriciously suspend the Bill of Rights than write an Amendment and get it passed. Until that happens enjoy your freedoms or in your case, just complain about other people exercising their freedoms.
The First Amendment is explicit: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” There is no asterisk there allowing wannabe-dictators the power to set aside those protections.
Now, just for giggles, why don’t you show us where the US Constitution protects the rights of Londoners to leave their lights on.
@Yogurt:
“Lockdowns do work when people do what needs to be done.”
Please provide evidence and sources.
It’s really easy to harp on people and tell them to wear a mask and you’re a bad person if you don’t,when the person saying that sits home all day not wearing a mask and gets food deliveries and Safeway is across the street from them. The ones insisting on others wearing a mask wear one for 1 minute or less per day
Not nec. true at all. I work 8 hour days facing the public with an n95 on, usually with shades on for eye protection. People wearing garbage masks (bandanas, neck gaiters, cotton) piss me off, people with it under their nose enrage me.
Really the government should produce and distribute n95s en masse to the elderly and immunocompromised and those groups should wear them religiously, and everyone else should live their lives 100% normally without masks. The virus is such a small threat to people under 70 who are healthy that crippling all of society and the economy is complete lunacy. Let the elderly/immunocompromised wear their respirator, or have their goods delivered.
The boomers who have done such great harm to America continue to refuse to sacrifice. It is for them that the economy and society are being destroyed.
@Anon – An N95 is not intended for continuous use, can be dangerous to use for those with breathing issues, and can cause medical issues for healthy people. They restrict the air flow for both inhaling and exhaling. Fighting against this restriction increases your chances of throat and/or lung infection and could increase your chances of catching COVID-19.
If you have no problems breathing when using an N95 then it’s not fitted correctly or is not a genuine N95.
Normal surgical masks and cloth masks are quite satisfactory. A bandanna hanging loose is better than nothing. Neck gaiters are likely okay. I think it depends on the material they are made of.
Listen here sir. I wear an n95 and a mask over that for 12-14 hours a day for work. Pull your head out of your rear end. It’s extremely disappointing to learn that your sick covid patient was an idiotic “mask denier”.
@Aunt Babs
Go look up footage of a covid ward, you will see the doctors and nurses wearing at minimum a n95. Why? Because that is the very least any sane person would wear when treating a patient with a infectious respirator disease.
The only reason we are advised not to wear N95s is because there aren’t enough due to predatory outsourcing overseas of essential goods such as respirators. The n95 is EXACTLY what you want for protecting yourself from the Communist Party/ Wuhan flu.
I hate leafblowers too.
Wait a darn minute then,,,what happened to Nuisance’s 1 billion dollar mask deal with China? It seems to have gone away.
Whatever people are dying from, it ain’t COVID-19
https://web.archive.org/web/20201126163323/https://www.jhunewsletter.com/article/2020/11/a-closer-look-at-u-s-deaths-due-to-covid-19
Here is another article written and signed by over 43,000 medical professionals in the world requesting and advocating for a COVID policy change due to significantly more people dying unnecessarily due to lock down policy for 100% of the population than from actual COVID. These lockdowns for all of the population instead of applying a targeted approach to groups of people is a policy that may have been necessary to start in order to provide time to gain more knowledge. Now that we have more knowledge the policy itself is now producing more deaths than from COVID. It’s not okay that 130,000,000 are or will die of starvation due just to lockdowns. (Money one food won’t help these people when supply chains are broken and companies are not allowed to operate at full capacity) It’s not ok that Cancer patients (and those with other treatable and non treatable health issues) are made to feel more scared of COVID than from cancer. Cancer will 100% kill you when left untreated, but there is a 99.8% survival rate from COVID when left untreated. It’s not ok that significantly more children and adults are committing suicide as a result of isolation due to shut downs and either can’t get serviced through schools where they normally would if in person, can’t get in to see their Dr or worse have been made to fear more from COVID that has a average 99.8% recovery rate for all of the population. It’s not ok that the number of children being sexually and or physically abused and trafficked have increased 4 fold as a result of the shut downs and can’t be identified, helped or better yet prevented by schools. This is just a small piece of the significant and perminant damage now being caused as a result of public policy.
This article is not about the validity of wearing masks, social distancing, or quarantining. This article is not left, right, or center leaning. It is not political in any way. This article narrowly focuses on “first, to present the facts about how deadly COVID-19 actually is; second, to present the facts about who is at risk from COVID; third, to present some facts about how deadly the widespread lockdowns have been from something other than COVID; and fourth, to recommend a shift in public policy” to prevent generational deaths that will far out way in numbers any deaths from COVID. Every life is valuable and nothing is guaranteed in life besides death and taxes. Unfortunately data is showing that the one size fits all solution for all groups of people for COVID is proving to be more deadly than the original problem. It’s unfortunate too many people have been made to feel scared, feel the need to police others or are being told to police each other by government officials. It’s unfortunate that policy makers are too embarrassed or what ever to admit what they are doing is no longer working therefore requiring a change. Its unfortunate tough decisions have to be made that will result is deaths. The question now is….how many and at what cost?
https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/sensible-compassionate-anti-covid-strategy/
You WILL comply, Comrade!
…such obvious BS…
Let’s see if CC Health can1-Up Santa Clara ?
I for one will not be following these rules and led around like sheep.
I believe the precautions are necessary and warranted. I’m not a mask freak but I do follow the rules and I hope everyone understands, Covid IS killing people.
I’m curious about a report I read regarding the number of declining births in the coming next year due to Covid and the economic loss. Adding the number of Covid deaths of elders, this HAS to have a better impact on our earth.
It’s literally not tho.
I agree, IKrissy
@ikrissy If you believe not wearing masks are killing people, why are you supporting wearing them when all these deaths “have a better impact on our earth?” Curious if any of your elderly relatives know you feel this way.
I agree with the better impact on our Earth. Mother Nature is pissed!
Add the uptick of shootings to your list of Covid deaths. Do these jack***** have any idea what this BS lockdown and BS mask wearing is doing to the human psyche? They’re all trying to outshine each other with the best approach on how to handle this BS. While the ones that created this farce sit back and revel in their handiwork.
Tightening up is a result of people not following the protocols. Self solving problem. Simple. We were so good at first now we are not. So back to square one. Too bad people think they can do what they want and not effect others, The doctors and nurses are exhausted and fed up with this prevailing attitude. It is to me just as hard to believe people ever voted for you know who and then voted for him again. Same logic. Ahhh…there isn’t one. The definition of insanity, Keep banging you head against the wall and wondering why your head hurts. Poor insecure people with unlimited pride.
People can do what they want,or people can be prisoners in thier own home, nothing will ever change, its a giant mind %&ck.They know that no society is ever going to be %100 on any issue,so they know they whole thing is unprovable, and it being unprovable is also unprovable. They can drag this on forever, and the low informationers will blame on those not conforming to a hoax.Popcorn is a shut in a doesnt even own a mask.Armchair warrior elite, and nobody keep granny in line .
@Popcorn
“The definition of insanity, Keep banging you head against the wall and wondering why your head hurts“
Exactly! The California electorate is insane for continuing to elect soft on crime, pro illegal alien liberals!
@popcorn Did you light another candle at the Dictator Newsom alter you created for his sin at “making a mistake” for not wearing a mask at the dinner party he attended? I’m SURE Newscum truly believes in this BS pandemic. What he believes is what he’s going to get out of it.
COVID doesn’t care about borders and at this point I don’t care about any restrictions. I’ll wear a mask because I can’t go anywhere otherwise, but any unenforced rules? Nope, I’ll pass. Over it, and clearly all the mask wearing and sheltering in place since March hasn’t made a bit of difference in opening things back up so don’t @ me with that argument.
A hard shutdown for 3-4 weeks will save lives and prevent many from experiencing the longterm health affects of this dangerous and deadly virus.
It wont help at all and if they were honest they would admit it only makes things worse.of if wasnt a hoax.
@ Pat
……and throw our country into a depression. Oh yeah! That!
Have you noticed that businesses are already going under at an alarming rate because of these restrictions? You CLEARLY are not a business owner! Sorry. Our economy can not stand another “hard shutdown.” If you want a hard shutdown just stay in your house. Grocery stores and restaurants now deliver! No reason for you to leave!
You’re probably right. If EVERYBODY stayed home for a month (including doctors, police, firefighters, grocery store employees, etc.), we could whip this virus. But even the people like ilovepopcorn who keep saying we should stay “locked down” would lose their minds if they had to go without their “essential services” and the army of people who go to work every day to provide them. You know, the people they often refer to as “selfish” or “inconsiderate”.
What exactly do you mean by a “hard shutdown?” Essential workers will still have to work to provide food, utilities, medical care, trucking, production, home repairs (plumbing, heating, refrigeration, etc, things you can’t ignore). Essential right now includes delivery like Instacart and UberEats. Essential workers get sick and spread Covid. If you really want a “hard lockdown” then essential workers should all be included, too. Let’s go ahead and finish the job of destroying the economy, shall we? Just be sure to stock up on food and other supplies before the “hard lockdown” goes into effect and pray you don’t need any other services.
Not a hoax but a ruse. I called it that from the start. Back then there was a pending economic collapse forecast and how convenient to use a virus, declare a pandemic to control the collapse so the elites still win. Elites though are stupid and historically such attempts have not worked out well for them. More and more people are catching on.
@ Pat
I might suggest reading this. Data is showing lock down policy applied to all equally are actually causing more deaths cumulatively from many other things than those dying of COVID. In other words 9 months later the solution is now more deadly than the original problem. The public policy that our leaders seem to be sticking too is not about saving lives it’s about managing resources until herd immunity is accomplished whether naturally or through vaccination.
https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/sensible-compassionate-anti-covid-strategy/
I was at BevMo today and I’ve never seen so many people in there buying so much booze. Is there something coming up where alcohol sales are planning on being discontinued? It was almost as bad as going into Costco and watching people fight over t.p. in April.
still fighting over TP….craziness.
This health officer has got to go. He doesn’t have an independent thought in his head. It’s like he watches Twitter for the latest in fancier counties and then copies them. He’s got no balls in a job that needs big ones.
Do we honestly care what Dr. F thinks anymore? How does an MD have so much power to destroy a regional economy? Shame in the supervisors and State fir giving these well-meaning but woefully misguided MDs so much power over public policy.
Before you decide to not wear a Mask? Who in your family gets to make the decision to unplug your ventilator because families are having to decide this, ours did? Please write it down so your family knows…
This is exactly what I’m talking about.
This is trained fear mongering.
“wear a mask,stop murdering people’
They feel like they are being helpful and part of something good.
Ignorance is bliss..
Some people would feel such a guilt trip over this because their are those that are very sensitive and already have guilt from the past and this could send them over the edge to harm themselves or others..
You can’t say it hasn’t happened.
Do you want to be responsible for something like that happening?
Stop what you’re doing and keep it to yourself, you can’t manage the human race or even 1 human.
Who in your family gets to decide which overpass you live under because the family business went belly-up and you’re now homeless? Who gets to tell the kids that Daddy shot himself in the head because he couldn’t provide for his family, but his life insurance would?
See? I can use emotional arguments, too.
1. There’s no Flu Season in 2020. Health Depts and CDC state mask wearing and social distancing are the reasons, yet these same virus mitigators haven’t been effective against Covid? Um…
2. According to a most recent study out of Denmark, masks do NOTHING to relieve the spread of Covid. Um….
3. The PCR test (used to determine positivity in a Covid patient), as used with CDC guidelines, has a 97% false positive rate. Um…
Paul, you do know we are just coming into flu season, right? Unless the CDC is clairvoyant, they have no clue if we are going to have a flue season, or how bad it will be this year.
The CDC actively tracks the Flu. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm
Can we wait for it to happen or is it easier to eff up everyone’s night?
Higher risk activities might be a slight cause for more cases, but I was told in March (MDs and RNs) that there would be an big increase in the number of cases once the weather gets colder. You don’t have to be a medical professional to know this spreads easier in colder weather, and people spend more time indoors. The medical profession knows darn well why cases have increased.
What worries me the most is so many people are still partying, socializing with friends and families without face mask and this will slow down everything. My neighbors had a HUGE gathering last night and my wife wanted to call the police, we didn’t but I keep shaking my head…..this is why I don’t believe our children will be back to school anytime soon. NO SPORTS EITHER!!!
Keep not wearing mask…great job!!!!
1930s Germany depended upon people like you.
The police would have told you they are “tied up with more important calls’ and to “call back later, and by the way is this an emergency?”
Eight months and counting of lockdowns for a virus with a 99.7% survival rate, aka a bad flu bug. At this point we must all ask ourselves “Cui bono”? Who is benefitting from these ridiculous ongoing lockdowns and the destruction of the economy? Millions unemployed, millions of small businesses destroyed, commercial real estate valued decimated as retail stores continue to close, residential rents in the cities plummetting (as are residential real estate values in the cities), and so on. The “PTB” must know that the economic costs of these lockdowns are massive. They might be evil but they’re not stupid. So again, cui bono? Do the PTB think the Chinese are going to come in and buy everything at pennies on the dollar once the economy is fully destroyed and they’ll get a cut? Do they PTB want to do that themselves as millions of businsses are put out of business? Who else is benefitting from the ridiculous lockdowns of once free Americans? Who is benefitting from keeping schools closed and kids (e.g. those least at risk from the virus) stuck at home?
Really, we must all ask oursevles who is benefitting from the ridiculous lockdowns. Because they certainly are not necessary from a medical standpoint. Personally I think it all boils down to control; the liberal fascists want the deplorable masses permanently under their collectivist thumb. If that remains the case it is time to move out of California and back to a state like Florida where the lockdown and mask BS has been put in the rear view mirror.
Could be necessary cover for mail-in votes and later to maintain security. Continual security cover at least until a few months have passed, following the fake coronation of sleepy Joe. I think all of this covid stuff begs the question of who benefits and why…think cover and security.
More lies from COVID deniers. Fake conspiracies to boot. What are these guys actual motivations? If people are taking simple precautions there will be a lot less deaths. If people listen to these guys there will be more deaths. I don’t get it. Please explain.
Every potato post has”lies” in it
Denial of reality
Anything besides your emotions pointing to lies?Do you have a link ?you liberals love to ask.Next time”lies” can you add a shred of proof, not opinion?
No need to worry Joe has a plan.
Understanding The Covid19 Misinformation (Lies)
Last week, Johns Hopkins University published a now-deleted article explaining a study examining the effects of the novel coronavirus on United States death totals using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Genevieve Briand, the assistant program director of the Applied Economics master’s degree program at Johns Hopkins, determined, in the study, that there have been 1.7 million deaths in the U.S. between March 2020 and September 2020, 12% (or roughly 200,000) of which have been coronavirus-related.
Briand posits that the only way to understand the significance of the U.S. coronavirus death rate is by comparing it to the number of total deaths in the country.
According to Briand, who compared the total deaths per age category from both before and after the onset of the global pandemic, the death rate of older people stayed the same before and after coronavirus.
“The reason we have a higher number of reported COVID-19 deaths among older individuals than younger individuals is simply because every day in the U.S. older individuals die in higher numbers than younger individuals,” wrote Briand.
She also noted that between 50,000 and 70,000 deaths are seen both before and after the emergence of the virus, meaning that, according to her analysis, coronavirus has had no effect on the percentage of total deaths of older people, nor has it increased the total number of deaths in the category.
https://harbingersdaily.com/johns-hopkins-published-then-deleted-an-article-questioning-the-u-s-coronavirus-death-rate/
For those who are demanding that the entire state shut down….
See the following.

Newscum is continuing to not report the data correctly to control the population- and most of the counties are blindly following his lead.
Thanks, Fred, for sharing this link…and the manipulation of data continues…end game is looking more and more like martial law.
Thanks for the link. Newsom is a liar, a thief, and a cheat. Sign the recall!
90 people in the hospital for covid? So that’s roughly 10 per hospital? And we are worried they are going to get overwhelmed? I think as adults we make decisions like Gavin did when he decided to go to dinner with his lobbyist. He made an adult decision to break his own rules! If you have underlying issues and are older than 65 I would stay inside and wait for the vaccine.
Do some research, Cv-19 virus size micron.
Ability to filter micron N95 mask.
Ability to filter micron cloth mask.
There’s a reason they’re stressing 6 feet !
Coronavirus is about 0.12 microns, N95 mask is good down to 0.1 microns, with 95% efficiency. per Mayo Clinic
https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/covid-19-mayo-clinic-expert-answers-questions-about-masks-after-cdc-updates-its-recommendation/
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/masking-science-sars-cov2.html
https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/n95-respirators-surgical-masks-and-face-masks
This is why guv’ment should have thrown themselves at domestic, en masse n95 production back in February.
IF it is a real dangerous threat of a virus that justifies even 5% of the shutdown, which it really isn’t realistically, the more and more I read about it.
People need to be informed what they are actually up against, as well as limitations of PPE (personal protective equipment) they have available to them.
Trusting your Safety and those you care about to sound bite press releases or social media posts by politicians is folly.
IF people were better educated about mask limitations they likely would limit, interactions with others outside their household and travel.
It is mind-boggling that people still believe this crap.
I am conducting my own science experiment: how many stupid adults regurgitate the shock quotes from the talking heads. It’s hilarious.
The hospitals are not over-crowded, and the infection rate is extremely low.
It gives me peace of mind to know that numbers are extremely low, and thank god we are all as safe as ever.
Stay safe, and save the children 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Betcha didn’t know PNEUMONIA was the number one cause of death during the Spanish Flu.
It was caused by MASKS, and Dr Fauci wrote a paper about it.
WHAT! wait………wouldn’t that prove Fauci is a ………well, you decide.
Fauci study did not attribute 1918 Spanish flu deaths to bacterial pneumonia caused by masks: https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-fauci-mask-pneumonia-1918-idUSKBN277200
Dr. Anthony Fauci did not say masks contributed to Spanish flu deaths: https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-fauci-mask-pneumonia-1918-idUSKBN277200
Here’s the paper in question. You can use your web browser’s word search function. The word mask doesn’t even appear in the paper at all.
Predominant Role of Bacterial Pneumonia as a Cause of Death in Pandemic Influenza: https://academic.oup.com/jid/article/198/7/962/2192118
Fauci also said the PCR test is very easy to get false positives with.
Go ahead and debunk this NATALIE
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y0ic2y928gU
@Anon: I don’t have to debunk the claim because other people already have:
“Regardless of whether the Ct value is high or low, a positive test indicates that the person is or has been infected with the virus, which qualifies them as a COVID-19 case.”
Claim that high PCR test sensitivity inflates COVID-19 cases wrongly conflates the issue of contagiousness with the presence of infection: https://healthfeedback.org/claimreview/claim-that-high-pcr-test-sensitivity-inflates-covid-19-cases-wrongly-conflates-the-issue-of-contagiousness-with-the-presence-of-infection/
Covid deaths equal 12% of all US deaths, but US deaths HAVE NOT increased during this manufactured pandemic.
Prove me wrong!
From the CDC
From January 26, 2020, through October 3, 2020, an estimated 299,028 more persons than expected have died in the United States.** Excess deaths reached their highest points to date during the weeks ending April 11 (40.4% excess) and August 8, 2020 (23.5% excess) (Figure 1). Two thirds of excess deaths during the analysis period (66.2%; 198,081) were attributed to COVID-19 and the remaining third to other causes†† (Figure 1).
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6942e2.htm#:~:text=conduct%20all%20analyses.-,From%20January%2026%2C%202020%2C%20through%20October%203%2C%202020%2C,excess)%20(Figure%201).
The CDC reports that deaths from all causes in the US as of Nov 21 is 2,579,548 as quoted in https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#Comorbidities
In earlier reports, the deaths from all causes in the US in 2018 was higher, quoted as 2,839,205 in a hyperlink too big to fit here but it is easy to find. It is missing December data but that’s only one month.
Please explain how deaths were higher in 2018 yet they are claiming how deadly coronavirus is. Please, check the numbers. I also want to know if I’m wrong. Let us know.
Actually TDL you want to follow the link provided in your link from the CDC which gets you to:
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm#dashboard
At the bottom of this page you can select the particular dashboard you want to look at and you will see that there was more death in 2020 as would have been predicted.
JWB: Thank you for this chart posting. It raises questions for me, however. For 2020 almost the entire year was over 60,000 death per week, so if you multiply that out then for the year the deaths should be way over 3 million, so why are they reporting only 2.5 million with only one month to go? The numbers don’t tie. In addition, anything above their threshold excess death line would be listed as excess, but why is their threshold noticeably lower for 2020 than 2019? Somethings not right.
@TDL
By no means would I claim to be an expert in this field, but I have no reason to believe the CDC would make these things up so I take them by their word.
JWB: I did not say it was wrong, just that it looks questionable. If you compare the chart to the actual underlying numbers, it seems that whoever the research assistant was did not export it very well so the numbers do not line up at least on my screen. That does not mean the CDC is wrong, just that they had a poorly paid intern do the chart. I do want to dig into these more but am kind of busy today. And I do appreciate your pointing me to this source.
