Two power poles have been knocked down and a third is leaning on Gasoline Alley in Concord (behind the Honda dealership on Concord Ave.).

About 10 customers are without power in the area.

It’s appears a truck was responsible for knocking down one of the poles, which then knocked down the other two.

Thanks to Heather for the top photo, and “anon” for the bottom one.

UPDATE: A witness to the collision says another truck hit the pole on Tuesday, and it was apparently reported to PG&E.

Here’s what the witness had to say:

“I want to clarify that another truck hit that pole and it cracked yesterday. We had multiple calls into PG&E. They sent a person out and he basically said “oh it’s good”. I just want everyone to know it was not that drivers fault and PG&E And AT&T had been called and called.”

Good Grief The other two poles must have been real winners.

The maintenance of utility poles is split between PG&E, AT&T and Comcast.

Actually the poles belong to PG&E, and the other utilities “rent” space.

The little street behind the Honda dealership is known as Gasoline Alley? I wonder why.

I think it was named Gasoline Alley because the school bus barn is back there and that’s where they fill up their tanks. Also, their mechanics work on the school buses so it makes sense to me to call it Gasoline Alley.

Silvia…its called Gasonline Alley because of all the vehicles that go there. City of Concord and many vehicles for MDUSD , if not all, are there.

I trust that no hydrants were harmed in making this mess.
I remember having to go down Gasoline Alley to get school bus passes for my kids. Silva, I assumed they called it Gasoline Alley since that’s where they stored, maintained, and fueled all the buses.

Some of us older folks may remember this Gasoline Alley.

The City Public Works Corporation Yard is also there.
