There’s the problem right there 👆🏼. That’s a false narrative. America wasn’t built on racism. America was built on freedom and equality for all. Slavery as taught by hollywood is a false narrative. Learn history and you will unlock the truth, but that’s the problem you refuse to learn history. That’s why we are repeating it right now. Thank you for providing the perfect example of why it’s not acceptable. Im an American before anything else. My skin is white however by these rules I could easily claim victim status but I’m not a lame little pansy
@Sam,
Check out the book, The Naked Communist. It spells out in great detail the steps that Marxists/Communists would take and have taken to control America. It was originally published in the early 60’s. My copy is from the late 1960’s.
I think “Karens” are the only people who want these positions anymore.
On a side note I don’t think Vimeo player is supposed to default to playing but just show the button to press for play. I may take a look at their embed code. And I suspect that the video of the thing is available by link somewhere on Vimeo now that it is gone here.
Oh, please

Chloe Park- get a baby sitter and wear a mask. Or, get another job. We are all at work with many people we come into contact with. You cannot promise no one will die of the flu, yet this has never been a problem.
Cory (child psych)- YES!!!! Than you for bringing ACTUAL science and the harm our children are experiencing instead of the “fear” of staff that are unwilling to work.
Tammy-0 Another staff person who doesn’t want to work. Sigh. NO. The kids have NOT settled into a rhythm. Wrong. A lot of the kids have NOT contracted it. The cases are SO low.
Tom- YES. So many kids cannot sit there for distance learning. It makes them HATE school. I am so sorry to hear about your son. But, this is NOT just special needs kids. This is for MOST kids in elementary. You are right. This school shut down CAN and WILL affect these kids and their learning for the rest of their lives.
Kate- THANK YOU so much for bringing actual science into this and for fighting for our kids! Get everyone back and moving forward.
We all know Brian Lawrence is vocally anti-science and anti Republican everything. They don’t care about our comments. They care about control. Give people a freaking choice. Complete lip service.
Right? I joined late so I didn’t hear all the crap. It is not like anyone is saying they cannot keep their kids home. WE are not trying to make their choice for them, but they are certainly trying to make our choice for us! Parents should decide. Teachers should HAVE to teach or lose their jobs, just like the rest of us.

What a farce. Brian Lawrence is drunk with power (and other things if you follow his twitter). He clearly sees himself as a dictator akin to Mussolini and Stalin.
As long as he is in charge we are doomed in the MDUSD. Time to get serious and pull the kids out and go private.

Teachers are essential workers. Just like all other essential workers they should go back to the classroom with their students. Grocery store workers, nurses, doctors, gas station attendants, etc. all essential. We must get our kids back to school.

Childcare for our teachers kids should not be a factor in reopening the schools. I’ve had to find my own childcare to work full time and have my kids distance learn. Why should this be different?
Me too! I have had to this whole time. Why do these teachers get special treatment! It is absolutely ridiculous.

Parents need to get together and protest outside the district office! Stand up for your children!
Someone Needs to See This
October 7, 2020 - 6:59 PM 6:59 PM
Clearly a lot of you haven’t been listening to the meeting all the way through because if you did you would have seen the numbers from the recent surveys given by both the teacher’s union and the school district. Both of the surveys showed that the majority of teachers are okay and willing to go back to in person teaching.
A lot of you on here are trying to make a division between teachers and the general public. I don’t understand it because every teacher I know has always wanted the best for the community and the best for every student and family they have served.
They need to stand up then. Protest to open the schools. Protest against the marxist culture being taught. If they care about the kids, PROVE IT! Until i see teachers in mass refute the current climate of marxist social engineering I won’t believe anyone cares about the future of the children. You teachers have a choice to make now.
I’m sorry… so who was it that inundated the union with calls about “I am going to die if you send me to the schools!” Right. That was the teachers who called their union with those histrionics. NOW they don’t like what they have to do. The grass is always greener I suppose. Too bad the teacher’s union listened to all those Karens.
Sam – I just want to know what you think is being taught in schools that is so horrible? And for the record the reason that certain teachers don’t want to go back is because the district cannot provide a safe work environment for staff or students. Now I know you will come back with something about Covid not being dangerous and we shouldn’t fear it, but would you willingly go back to an unsafe work environment?
Wether it’s safe or not is completely subjective. In fact it’s hands down the most subjective thing on the planet right now. Would I feel safe going to the school to teach? Yes. What I wouldn’t do is be a teacher if the job required me to forfeit my values and push leftist ideas on to my students as if I was teaching the german youth of the 30s and 40s. If teaching has become to dangerous a career, maybe it’s time to do something different. There are lots of jobs that are great for younger people that are risky as you get older. I think race theory and the leftist marxist ideology as a whole is toxic and has eaten away at some teachers ability to teach children. I think it’s no secret that these theories and ideologies are pushed in our schools and have a negative effect on education. Anyone trying to deny it is a liar.
I didn’t ask you about going into a classroom and teaching. I simply asked if your work space was unsafe, would you go in? And your opinion of what is taught in school is subjective. If you think teaching students to be accepting of others is a bad thing then that speaks more to you as a person than anything else. And as far as your CRT comment (which I’m assuming you picked up from your favorite right wing news outlet), again that is subjective. No teachers are brainwashing their students. If students learning to show empathy scares you, that speaks to you and not teachers.
Nothing scary about any of it. It’s not the schools job to teach the kids values unless we are talking about math. You appear triggered because someone is calling out the lie that is today’s public school. Do you really think the kids believe any of that crap anyway? They laugh at how stupid and insulting it is to POC. It’s the guilty WASP answer to “fix” racism with more racism. Because god knows POC need white people to fix things for them🤣. The great white saviors. So arrogant. Critical race theory has always been a load of debunked quackery. I’m confused by your right wing news outlet comment. I read books. It sounds to me like you’re scared of the backlash you know you’re about to receive. The chickens are coming home and you deserve every bit of it. Leave the kids alone. Empathy is your excuse? Please spare me
Further, I answered your question when I said yes. So you sit there teaching kids who grew up with a completely mixed group of friends from kindergarten or preschool that the white ones are racist. You destroy friendships and bonds of children. You undermine the natural order of the universe. You think you’re doing just and righteous work but it’s built on a foundation of lies. You serve to tear down our society through subversion and demoralizing our youth. You must be proud.

I’m a teacher, at a high school and for all the patents and nay sayers , our kids , special Ed kids at a continuation high school are more productive and turn in more work , are more willing to participate in class in distance learning. I am all for this to continue for our kids . They are successful and will graduate on time .
Is this a joke? If so, it’s in bad taste. Keeping at-risk young kids out of school is the single most regressive thing any state has done in the past few decades. Even worse for most special ed kids and their families. Researchers on education and development are going to be publishing papers on this generation of kids for a long, long time.
Yeah they’re doing there work at home because the parents are the ones actually teaching them and making them do the work. Let me repeat that again for you all in the back. The kids are doing there work at home because the parents are the ones teaching them and making them do the work.
Essentially we’re all just home schooling our kids now. Why would we even need local public schools if this continues? Why not just go to home schooling program?
Teachers and administrators cannot take any credit for the success of the students during this period. All success should be the credit of the parents. Any failures can be credited to the teachers union and scare tactics from our “leader” Newsom for putting us in this situation.
Be careful what you advocate for teachers. If we all go to long term distance learning (home schooling) many of you will be out of a job.
The coronaviruse is real. 211,000 dead. The US has 4% of the population and 21% of its deaths. Trump doesn’t say publicly what he says privately. In private and on tape Trump acknowledges COVID-19 is 5 times deadlier than the seasonal flu and it is airborne. PROTECT YOUR KIDS

After Nov 3 when the President is re-elected and the House changes to R there will be a swift change of momentum and the schools will fully re-open
Pelosi will retire and Newsom will be driven to resignation by the President
There will be a special election for Gov in 2021
State finances will only recover when there is a massive reduction in bureaucrats and budgets with MDUSD having to fire most of the top-level position holders and many of the Marxists will quit on their own
Hopefully, they will all relocate to Cuba or Venezuela
Brian,
You are a complete joke! We are pulling our kids from
Public school! Your bookshelf says it all. Please leave or quit bc you are not wanted in this school district. I cannot believe it. This is what’s going to be taught to our children. NOT OK! Not to be taught in schools!
What a s**** show. I cant believe our children have to learn this way.
I agree.
Get educated people.
