The National Weather Service extended and expanded its Red Flag Warning Thursday due to fire concerns in the Bay Area as temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s and 100s through Friday.
The weather service initially issued a Red Flag Warning starting at 1 p.m. Thursday in the North Bay, where the nearly 57,000-acre Glass Fire continues to burn.
That warning has now been extended through 6 a.m. Saturday and includes elevations above 1,000 feet in the East Bay hills, the Diablo Range, the Santa Cruz Mountains and Los Padres National Forest, where the Dolan Fire
is burning.
The heat wave that’s contributed to the fires as well as poor air quality in much of the Bay Area also spurred the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to extend its Spare the Air alert through at least Tuesday.
The Bay Area will experience significant smoke impacts into next week as the Glass Fire continues to burn in the North Bay, BAAQMD CEO Jack Broadbent said.

More ash on the car this morning. But really now, I was reading that one fire is burning in an area that hasn’t burned in 100 years! That is just asking for trouble. These fires are man-made by Liberal politicians and the wacked-out ‘environmentalists’ who make it impossible to reduce the fuel load in these areas.
It’s too many people living in this state demanding too much electricity that’s causing these fires. Liberals and conservatives. It doesn’t matter.
Power demand and supply in this state was not a problem until liberals began tinkering with it. Solar and wind are NOT consistent or reliable. On hotest days of summer wind intensity drops and solar generation drops as sun sets, yet between sunset and 9 pm is a peak demand period. Just as early morning when folks are having breakfast and getting kids ready for school before solar is generating electricity.
Those that bother to vote did this t themselves by electing liberals who have to prove to the world how green they are. Their qualifications to make these decisions, . . . . their boundless Hubris.

It’s beginning to look like the Glass fire started near an electric gate. Those hills are dotted with gentleman farmers retired from the Bay Area with plenty of money.

Air quality horrific this evening. Purpleair sensor in backyard reading 356 at 8:10 PM, same reading for over an hour. Turned AC on in core of house and cranked HEPA filter units up to high from medium setting. All ceiling fans on high. Not going to open up house tonight given poor air quality.
