Concord Krispy Kreme Not Closing, Will Reopen In Two Weeks

Good news! Concord Krispy Kreme is not closing, they’re just remodeling.

They plan to replace all the signage on the outside of the building, including the awnings and menu board.

Workers on site said the doughnut shop will reopen in about two weeks.

Don’t be messin’ with the two MAJOR food groups,
Sugar and Caffeine.

Deep fried refined sugar and carbs. Hmmmm.

I call B.S. on that.

They donur tell the whole truth?

I don’t care if they do, since they NEVER have cake donuts which are the only good ones

not a fan

They have some of the worst donuts I’ve ever eaten. I don’t often eat donuts, but I won’t touch theirs. You want good donuts, go to Kings. On Willow Pass.

American Citizen, I agree on the comparison!
But King’s actually is located at the point where Chestnut Ave. angles in to join Clayton Road.
Apple fritters, my favorite!

KING’S should branch out and supplant KRISPY KREME at that site! KINGS would need that larger parking site once donut lovers find out that KINGS is there.

I agree with “S” – me neither!

I just drove there today after promising my son some Krispy Kreme. We were both very disappointed to see it was closed. Glad to know it will reopen.

Visit regularly with my grandson, glad know in advance is closed. Was there over 20 years ago at the grand opening, then closed for a few years and happy is back again now!

I was hoping for an Olive Garden.

It’s the fast food of donuts. Enough said

Never understood the fascination with this place. Garbage donuts. Nothing good about a fake plastic tasting over sweetened slab of trash. Maybe some of you have never had a proper donut in your life. For those of us who lived in real cities and have had the pleasure of enjoying real food these are not it. Kinda fitting for Concord I guess..

Hey, Sam —
Take a try with KINGS on Chestnut Ave. It is at the corner of Clayton Road. You need to go really early, although they do close at 1330-1400, they run low on the artery cloggers by noon!

Happy Donuts!!

Kings is definitely my favorite. If I’m feeling a little underweight I hit up The Best Little Donut Shop on Grant. Not sure why nobody else is open for the late night donut fix..bet the would do well. Delicious cheap desert is always a hit

Good! I love their pumpkin donuts.

I discovered Dunkin Dounuts when I was stationed in Connecticut. I do like them, but they are very different than Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I grew up with Krispy Kremes. My brother and I used to make a speed run to KK between Church and Sunday School to pick up a few dozen for the class. Back then, they cost 60¢ a dozen. They were also fried in lard, which made them taste much better. Sadly, I almost never eat any doughnuts anymore.

Allow me to weigh in here —
Kings Donut and All Star (on Treat) are the best because: they are fresh, and if you go there early, warm. Plus they are large, a good value for your donut dollar.
Krispy Creme are always warm, anytime of day, which is good, but they are incredibly sweet and on the small size – a cruller way to spend your cash.
Duncan – well, there’s always coffee.

I’ve eaten perhaps a half dozen Krispy Kremes in my lifetime. Found them delicious, but small and overpriced.

Funny: I just heard a news story that Subway can’t call their “BREAD”, “bread” any more. Does not meet the FDA description of bread.

Too much sugar…. I think they can it “rolls”…

HAHAHA! Ew.

Sunrise in Martinez makes a fine donut.
My go to place.
Worth a try if you have not done so already.

love Krispy kreme!!!

Krispy Kreme is ok, but if you want the absolute BEST donuts here in the East Bay, Chick’s Donuts in Park-N-Shop next to 99 Ranch Market. Chick’s has in my opinion the BEST donuts. Great old fashioned, my dad loves their french cruellers, and mine are the cake ones with sprinkles. SO GOOD!!!
