Friends and family of a Concord man who was shot and robbed on Ygnacio Valley Rd. in late-August are raising money to help him while he recovers and gets back on his feet.
The crime occurred on August 27 while the victim was walking home from work near the Circle K on Ygnacio Valley Rd. at Alberta Way/Pine Hollow Rd.
Police say the suspect approached the victim just before 6 a.m. and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene with the man’s backpack, but not before shooting him in the abdomen. The backpack contained the victim’s writings and drawings.
The victim is in a lot of pain, and has already had multiple surgeries, according to his family.
If you can donate any amount of money, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is so very sad. I pray the pain subsides soon for him. And I hope they catch that POS that did this.
I am so sorry to hear this! I hope he recovers soon!
Donated.
Can we get a description of the suspect…or would that be considered “insenstive” and “hurtful”?
It’s interesting why we often are not told the description of the perpetrator.. I grew up here and it used to be a safe City. It is sad to watch it go down hill. Praying for this young man.
Agree. Was the suspect driving a vehicle as that would also be most helpful and hopefully Circle K could provide some video? We all need to be on the lookout for this type of scummy individual.
Yeah who is the suspect I hope this man makes a speedy recovery this is ridiculous. Praying for you man I hope you recover good as new.
I hope he recovers and somehow gets revenge. Theres not even a point in giving up your goods to a thief with a gun if they’re going to shoot you anyways. Might as well make a run for it or try and fight him. Either way hes going to shoot you.
The DA would likely not even prosecute a crime like this. This is a result of years of Democratic rule and liberal erosion of the safety in our communities. Criminals are not afraid of prosecution any more.
Do we have to use every tragedy to blame the democrats?
If this victim had been black the Bay Area would have had reporters all over the place from all the networks, braying at the horror of it all. Soccer Moms marching around with signage, systemic this and systemic that, blah blah blah. A white guy with a job gets shot, and they don’t care. Black privilege.
Bummed, what party is not condemning the riots and violence against anyone? And you’re right, it shouldn’t be political, it should be Americans fighting against violence and evil.
Really appreciate the donations for my brother’s recovery. Nice to know there’s a large community of people willing to help out strangers when they need it and rise above political leanings and vague statements about the state or government. Just people helping people. Again, it’s moving to see and I appreciate all of you.

Thank you to everyone who has found it in their hearts to help my cousin. He only had personal items in the backpack that they stole, which makes it even more senseless. Please if you can take the time to share this article on social media, our only hope is that this horrible, violent act does not cause further damage in his future. Thank you to claycord for bringing attention to this, and again to all who have been able to donate and/or keep him in your prayers.

Wondering if these are the same people that ran me over with a car. I asked if the car was fine, because it had a dent on the bumper. They had issues with the front tire after running me over. I asked if they needed some AAA, but they didn’t say anything and took off. Maybe they are sad that the car is damaged. Cars need to watch out if they don’t want to get hurt.
I walked this Road opposite of traffic asking to get hit with my basketball. Nothing. I’ll walk that line but nothing but the feel of warm car metal wind.
Leave this peaceful man alone.
Go after me next time. I beg you.
I’m easy to spot. I’m better than you.
