The number of Purpleair particle sensors has more than doubled over the last couple of weeks, making the map more difficult to read. Also, for some reason the colored dots have become larger making the map to appear more cluttered.
A long smoldering fire in S. Calif. has flared up and now is sending smoke towards the Bay Area, a new problem we don’t need.

I noticed the same on Purpleair. I’ve been using http://www.airnow.gov to monitor air quality. Great site, interactive, great information. But, I’m hoping we won’t need to monitor our air quality much longer. Would be nice to see blue skies and to have our firefighters come home to their families.

You don’t need AIRNOW, just look outside.
It looks like I just shook out the rug.
Dust particles congesting our city.

I totally agree, however, unfortunately I am traveling out of the area and would like to see what I’m getting myself into.

A neighborhood cat came over the fence coughing and covered in soot.

I just came back from a walk and the air was okay, no worse than the nightclubs I used to play music in when smoking was allowed there. But this area has microclimates so your experience may vary.

Why is there only one 747 firefighting plane in service for all of america? if we had 50 – 100 of these 747 firefighting planes they could all fly together and probably put out these fires pretty quick… We got money for military, tanks, aircraft carriers that just sit getting no use, etc but we cant have these on standby when there is fires every year…

heres a link to a picture of the 747 firefighting plane im talking about below

Fresh homemade pizza tonight. But I understand that yeast bread contributes to Global Warming or something.

For me, it just adds to my waistline. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and avoid Clayton Road.
