Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be out on patrol tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

“Safety is paramount, but especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Lt. Mark Robison said. “We are all in this together and want everyone to be as safe as possible when they are out. One way to do that is by not driving impaired.”

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or ”operating heavy machinery,” which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay a stiff price: an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Wish they’d tell us where, bring lawn chairs and watch the amateurs get popped.

Getting stopped IS better than finding your car at the bottom of a 200 foot ravine in the morning, . . . . with you in it !

But not as good as waking up at noon with your car on the front lawn and somebody else’s pants on.

does this include unlicensed drivers or just Americans?

All bars, and half the restaurants are closed! The rest of them are doing take out, and a handful have outdoor dining and barely make ends meet!! Who is going to drink and drive?!!

the car

It’s too expensive to get drunk in a bar or restaurant. People drink at home or at a friends house. When they run out of booze, they hop in the car to go to the store and buy more booze.

“Missed me by this much” Get Smart (Agent 86).

During Coronamania, I always drink, at home.

About 30 years ago my neighbor’s car was stolen from his driveway. The thief(s) drove it to the top of Kirker Pass, then let it roll, empty, down the hill until it ran into the ravine about three quarters of the way down.

They should also use this as an opportunity to arrest and deport illegal, dangerous criminal aliens.

Especially the ones with pointy heads who claim they are from France
