Three men were arrested in Walnut Creek while police were responding to a burglar alarm at a business on N. Main St.
Officers located three suspicious men who were associated with a nearby vehicle and an officer immediately observed a pistol grip shotgun in plain view inside the vehicle, according to police.
The three men were confirmed to be prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition based on prior convictions and they could not provide a legitimate reason as to why they were in Walnut Creek in the middle of the night, police said.
Police identified the suspects as 52-year-old Alphonso Lopez of Santa Clara, 68-year-old Richard Gutierrez of San Jose and 59-year-old Jose Isais of San Jose. They were arrested being felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Jose Isais was also arrested for false identification to a police officer and a no bail felony warrant.
All three suspects were booked into the Contra Costa County Jail.

That is a short barreled shotgun, which are completely prohibited in CA, and federally prohibited without an NFA tax stamp. Three guesses as to whether they have the stamp or not.
If local prosecution doesn’t put then away for a long time, ATF should prosecute. It would be one of the few times ATF would actually be good for something.
