I was wondering why the smoke was getting so strong! Now it makes sense…but what started the fire?

It was the most smoke we’ve experienced
so far. Feels like I smoked 3 cartons of
Marlboros last night.

Meanwhile we are choking in our homes. Can’t blame this one on lightning.

Are you “The” LLCool J ?

Yeah, we clearly have an arsonist or two in the area. What about the fire that started Sunday morning off of hwy 4 where the RP stated they saw someone pouring gasoline on the fire? It was on the chp incident page and then removed from the log…

Nothing makes my heart skip a beat in joy over the annual CALIFORNIA IS BURNING event to which we are subjected right on schedule. The fires are a response to California’s nutty politics. Sanctuary state, indeed. California is a national joke and its politicians are absolute jerks. The fires remind us annually how utterly sad the state is on the national level.

This one…

That’s because city people are stuck up and don’t care about anyone. Cites are over represented in relation to the actual needs of the state as a whole. Funny, coastal democrats of California don’t want to take care of the lower income areas of the state so it doesn’t burn, yet are demanding a bailout form the poorer areas of the country. Democrats have zero honor. That’s why they get no respect. They let the state burn to keep all the money

No matter how you feel about the state of California, the leadership and politicians, to take pleasure in California is burning, is just callous, and mean spirited. Do you know how much fires destroys, not only structures, people’s houses, animals, and fatalities. I’m pretty sure not everyone that is adversely affected by the fires are liberals, conservatives live here as well, as is clearly evident by many posts on this site.

Not sure I follow your transition from a naturally fire prone state exacerbated by climate change to sanctuary policy, but I’m sure your reasoning is rock solid, so I’ll just assume you’re correct.

“Rolaids” – AJ is referring to the status that CA proudly states that we are a Sanctuary state!! As a consequence a lot of any monies is re-distributed to all those social services demanded by activist!
A lot of Baloney!!!

Actually Hanne it’s mostly conservative areas that burn. Most of this state is conservative. That’s why the costal democrats could care less.

Rolaids, I shouldn’t have to even explain. It’s very simple. Money. Sacramento spends money on supporting illegal immigrants. Sacramento doesn’t spend enough fire prevention to make sure the state doesn’t burn.

If I was a conspiracy theorist like these democrats, I would protest because Sacramento is trying to murder conservatives.

I’m delighted that the fire was extinguished quickly.

The smoke from the fire has blanketed the area with dense smoke

Not good for people.

If this fire was started by an arsonist, there is no punishment too harsh.

If it is determined to be arson, the arsonist will be FI’d and probably handed a box of “Strike Anywhere” matches and a baloney sandwich to warm up to eat by Marxist Becton!

New fire? 8:40 am smoke filling up house, again. Is this the new normal?

I smell a closer one too. I can’t find any info on it yet.

Yes. I opened up the house at 4:30 this morning, then around 9am (ish) I smelled fresh smoke. I closed up the house again.

The smoke comes in more-so with air conditioner running. I’ve sealed door frame area with weather stripping and put rolled up towels on floor at bottom of door to block outside air from coming in. Seems to have cut down on the terrible smoke smell in the house.

@ Pat. Agreed! Those things help!

We need to turn off A/C and fan when the AQI gets to a certain level. Have taped windows and doors. The bathroom AQI still gets over 125. I think it’s the bathroom fans – the smoke must get in that way. Moving two air purifiers from room to room in an effort to keep the AQI to moderate. Having headaches and throat irritation / mucus (sorry-gross) from the exposure over several days now.

I predict a COVID spike due to people going to hospital for smoke-related health injuries. Of course they will be counted as COVID cases because science!

We do have an arson in the area. This is the 3rd fire across from Panoramic Drive since May. Last night with my ever so brave 17 year old Granddaughter, with hoses in hand, we sprayed down the perimeter of the yard and house. Praying the wind did not send the flames into the yard and consume my home. We have two hoses in the front yard and decent water pressure, but we are no match for a fire. Thank you to our wonderful Fire Fighters who once again showed how fast and efficient they are. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
