Drainage facilities are scheduled to be installed in the northbound direction of Kirker Pass Road adjacent to the existing concrete median barrier, as part of the Kirker Pass Road Northbound Truck Climbing Lane Project.
Northbound traffic will be reduced into one lane starting today until September 4.
The work will take place from the Concord Pavilion to the northern Hess Road intersection. Electronic message boards will alert drivers of the scheduled lane closure. Drivers should expect delays.
The Kirker Pass Road Northbound Truck Climbing Lane Project will improve safety and reduce congestion along Kirker Pass Road from the Concord Pavilion to the northern Hess Road intersection by constructing a truck climbing lane in the northbound direction.
Delays? Reducing Kirker Pass down to a single lane is going to cause the mother-of-all traffic jams during the evening commute. You can bet that traffic is going to spill onto Clayton Road, Bailey, etc…Might be a good location for a Roach Coach.
It’s a start. I say we reduce both directions down to no lanes. Use the freeway for your commute.
2 more weeks of this!!!! Insane!!! Makes 20 minute commute take almost 60.
I know, let’s reduce capacity on a major road with construction surrounded by bone dry grasses during an extended red flag warning with overstretched resources.
While you are at it, please install a Toll booth in the southbound lane…
Need to convert Kirker Pass into a freeway, would of been a better idea than this truck lane.
How about delaying closure of the #1 lane until the new #3 lane is finished, then temporarily make it the #2 lane, cone off the #1 lane and do the drain project. When the drain project is complete, open everything at the same time?
