Up and down numbers…. almost seems as if people want to use this to their advantage whenever fits their agenda… this thing will be curbed by December after Biden *wins* the election

Just an FYI and since Democrats love to point to Europe on all things, a swiss biologist named Dr Beda M Stadler confirms asymptomatic people don’t transmit the virus..y’all that continue to claim to be about the “science” keep repeating the myth that asymptomatic (HEALTHY) people can transmit the virus.

“ Firstly, it was wrong to claim that this virus was novel. Secondly, It was even more wrong to claim that the population would not already have some immunity against this virus. Thirdly, it was the crowning of stupidity to claim that someone could have Covid-19 without any symptoms at all or even to pass the disease along without showing any symptoms whatsoever.”

Further:

“ The next joke that some virologists shared was the claim that those who were sick without symptoms could still spread the virus to other people. The “healthy” sick would have so much of the virus in their throats that a normal conversation between two people would be enough for the “healthy one” to infect the other healthy one. At this point we have to dissect what is happening here: If a virus is growing anywhere in the body, also in the throat, it means that human cells decease (die). When [human] cells decease (die), the immune system is alerted immediately and an infection is caused. One of five cardinal symptoms of an infection is pain. It is understandable that those afflicted by Covid-19 might not remember that initial scratchy throat and then go on to claim that they didn’t have any symptoms just a few days ago. But for doctors and virologists to twist this into a story of “healthy” sick people, which stokes panic and was often given as a reason for stricter lockdown measures, just shows how bad the joke really is. At least the WHO didn’t accept the claim of asymptomatic infections and even challenges this claim on its website.”

Y’all that refuse to pivot and keep on perpetuating the myth that asymptomatic people pass on the virus are very, very dangerous people. The further you keep pushing this myth the more of a fool you make yourself out to be. You are not following any “science” or medical reasons. You are following the politicization of the virus, and you have to stop.

One person claiming something is not “science.” It’s one person claiming something. Dr. Stadler specializes in being controversial and has been so on many topics. Unfortunately, it also means mainstream science is unlikely to seriously consider his claims about that asymptomatic people can’t transmit the virus. Particularly in light that asymptomatic transmission has been identified as the main vector in numerous outbreaks. For example, on the cruise ship that was stuck in Japan for a while the plan was to remove all symptomatic people and then to quarantine the healthy people for a couple of weeks on the ship. That plan failed as more and more people developed COVID-19 and were then removed from the ship as soon as they were detected. SARS-CoV-2 is unusual in that it seems to readily transmit from asymptomatic people to healthy people. Once health authorities discovered what was happening they took everyone off the ship and quarantined them separately. Closer to home is that at present there are 30 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in skilled nursing facilities in CC county. Nearly all of those, if not all of them, were caused by asymptomatic transmission.

The phrase “novel coronavirus” is standard wording and is applied to all newly discovered coronaviruses and viruses in general. Once fully decoded and classified the virus is given a name. In this case it’s SARS-CoV-2. Novel coronavirus or just “coronavirus” were used in mainstream media accounts for a long time and are easier to say/remember than SARS-CoV-2. In a sense, Donald Trump predicted this in May 2017 by tweeting “Despite the negative press covfefe!”

It’s still possible that nobody has an immunity to SARS-CoV-2. Some people are asymptomatic and so appear to be immune.

There are currently studies underway where they are testing blood samples collected in 2018 and earlier to for evidence of SARS-CoV-2. Apparently they are getting hits and it’s suspected that’s because the person had previously had one or more of the common colds caused by a coronavirus. Google for HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, HCoV-NL63 or HCoV-229E which are the coronaviruses that cause these colds. Those people may well be the same ones that are getting asymptomatic cases of COVID-19.

@WC Resident Uh huh. Y’all can keep trying to explain the justification for the lockdowns all you want there is no justification for locking down an entire society.

I lost a friend to suicide because of the lockdowns. As far as I’m concerned that death is on your hands and anyone else that continues to support these lockdowns. You will never be forgiven, I swear on it.

@WC Resident – Thanks, once again, for bringing facts, analysis and informed perspective to this community. Calm objective discussion is desperately needed here and is much appreciated.

Sarcasm or a joke? Could not tell which of those two you doing in your response to WC.

@parent – trolling or trolling?

Commoncents – is that your dream to have some?

My question was serious (and funny!) as I find most of WC’s post ridiculous, so I was curious if Anon2 was being sarcastic or joking with his approval of WC’s post.

I’m not sure who we can believe anymore. The Democrats tell us one thing, the Republicans tell us something else, than the Governor says something different and the county entirely different again.
I think we are all smart enough to know what to do and do it.
