The number of corona virus patients in the county peaked at 110 on July 30. Having gotten down from the triple digits is encouraging.

Even though the testing data is known to be incomplete, the doubling of reported tests for yesterday indicates that the manual reporting now being done by some labs is significantly reducing the amount of missing data on this important statistic.

Just imagine if we saw accurate numbers for testing, infections and the death rate was not inflated.

The number hospitalized dropped from 110 on July 30th to 95 today which looks good but that’s because 15 people have died of COVID-19 since July 30th.

86 residents and staff of long term care facilities have been hospitalized for COVID-19 since March 1st.
86 residents or staff of long term care facilities have died due to COVID-19 since March 1st.

COVID-19 is not your everyday flu.

@ WC
You are absolutely correct, COVID is not your everyday flu … it is a political flu.

If we can believe that we are underreporting the infection rate (check LA, San Jose, Stanford, Germany and most recently CDC/WHO) by 6-24 times, then our death rate is ~0.2% on the HIGH end. The annual flu is around 0.10-0.15.

The annual flu has a historical R0 value of 1.3; whereas we are fluctuating below that now. San Mateo is below 1.0.

People die from the flu every year.

Our death statistics have been inflated because they want they money from calling it a COVID death.

This is a POLITICAL flu, so we agree WC. Great!

I don’t believe any of the numbers. All lies.

From the Los Angeles Times…

SACRAMENTO — The breakdown in California’s coronavirus test reporting system is disrupting pandemic response efforts across the state, leaving local officials in the dark about the spread of COVID-19 and blocking the ability of counties to get restrictions lifted until the system is fixed.
State officials have not yet provided details on when fixes will be made to the electronic system, called CalREDIE, that reports coronavirus test results to the state’s disease registry system. California, as a result, lacks an accurate count of coronavirus infections, leading health officials to freeze the state’s watchlist, with no counties added or removed.
“CalREDIE has broken,” said Peter Beilenson, director of Sacramento County’s Department of Health Services. “The bottom line is we don’t know the real caseload…. We don’t know if we are missing 250 cases [a day] or 50 cases,” he said of his local numbers. “We have no idea.”

In other words, Newsom’s actions are purely political and have no basis in fact. You can cry all you want and keep the state’s economy shut down, but the fact is – they have NO idea.

Bunch of sheep.
