A shooting has been reported on Ygnacio Valley Rd. at Homestead Ave. in Walnut Creek.
Paramedics were called to the scene just before 5 p.m. today.
At least one person has been transported to the hospital.
No further information is currently available.
Well this could get interesting.
Drove by the scene going west on Ygnacio. Eastbound completely blocked and cops were running around with their assault rifles. Saw two cars abandoned on homestead.
Just another glorious day in Walnut Creek
What are these “assault rifles” you speak of? Do you mean semi-automatic rifles that are black and oh so scary looking?
Bill….. what should the cops have been “running around with”?? Pepper spray??
And the cops were not “running around”. I too was very close to the scene and every officer looked poised, competent and ready to handle the situation.
We are going to see a lot more of this. War on cops, let felons out of jail, no bail… basically no consequences for actions.
I’m curious as well, Bill. Do tell how you determined the officers were armed with “assault rifles”.
I was stuck in the traffic right after it happened. Saw a young man being carried to an ambulance. Just drove by again on my way to pick up food and they have eastbound Ygnacio completely closed. Pile of clothes and evidence on the ground and a car abandoned.
Mid- to late-2000’s BMW 3-series was shot at 3 times by someone in a black SUV waiting at the light on Homestead as the BMW drove by. The SUV flipped a u-turn and took off back into the Homestead neighborhood. Possibly mistaken identity shooting or road-rage… Young passenger in the BMW was struck in the arm (area) and was walking/talking when he was put in the ambulance. Police in the area are investigating the scene, hence the shutdown of East-Bound Ygnacio and the traffic it’s causing. Ygnacio East-bound shut down at Walnut Blvd. West-bound still open.
@H2oman; Thanks for the info…
..and you sounded so confident in your story…. ;(
75% of the cases go unsolved. Let’s try harder law enforcement to actually investigate this one and bring the perp in.
So you’re an expert on criminal investigation… I doubt that. A big part of investigations are witnesses and involved party statements. If you don’t have those things it’s difficult to identify the responsible suspect and what actually happened
working in a hospital setting I’m sure Trauma RX sees more than we ever could imagine and yes the case must be solved or it will keep happening over and over. Did they ever solve the Tiffany robbery? doubt it and the creeps are still on the loose and escalating their crimes!
and YES wear your seatbelts to save your lives.!
He/she is just a misunderstood angle of mercy so long as you are not the police, or homeless or NIMBY event.
I’m sure if a police officer or the homeless were to be unfortunate enough to be his/her patient they would receive Charles Cullen like care.
Steven,
Trauma may not be an expert, but I am.

TraumaXR perhaps people should vote for something other than lawlessness.
MAYBE we should stop voting for governors who empty prisons and set felons free! Maybe we should stop looking at law enforcement as the bad guys. What do you expect? The governor has opened prison doors and set felons free. They have taken away bail. So they get arrested and turn around and back on the street within a few hours.
This is only the beginning
Police around here are fantastic. It’s the leadership that is FAILING the citizens in this state!
If you low IQ lemmings continue to vote in losers, DO NOT blame Police for the state being run into the ground!
You useful idiots who vote for this lawlessness are to BLAME!!!
Looks like Walnut Creek is no longer the Beaver Cleaver neighborhood. Shooting today, riots and looters a few weeks back. Welcome to the other side of life.
@ChuckStir….your comment reminded me of this Monty Python tune…https://youtu.be/X_-q9xeOgG4
Well, this does make three shootings in WC over the last six weeks. Newell Ave, looting shooting and now Ygnacio……be prepared.

Oh, the subject that WCPD did capture at Newell is guilty of nothing more than carrying a concealed weapon, once the other party began shooting at him, he had the right to defend himself.

Sounds like road rage and not a drug deal gone bad maybe. Just from what I read here on Claycord. Hope the person that was shot will recover soon, It can take a long time to heal from a bullet wound! It is very serious. Sorry this ever had to happen.
When it’s called a drug ‘deal’ it’s already bad.
Black SUV was shot at in the Newell Liquor Store shooting so might be retaliation but then again the guys that got shot at at the liquor store were from Detroit so probably not
There perps were definitely not from Walnut Creek, need to find a new route to your hometowns. you are not welcome here… Covid 19 spreaders. ADIOS!
If there was only a way to permanently cut off Willow Pass Road, Bailey Road, Kirker Pass Road, and Marsh Creek Road… There would be an instant change to the feel of the area: lighter traffic, less congestion.
Subtle.
Maybe you could build a moat around the “better” towns. Go medieval.
My son knows the kid who was shot.
k, thanks
How young was the kid?
Driving the BMW?
Your son knows him? That’s it??
No details? age, a first name? good kid or in trouble with law?has enemies? any idea of motive?
nothing else?
But your son knows him?
Thanks Barbie…. good post.
Barbie,
Hopefully your son’s friend has a complete recovery.

Barbie Girl…… and? Do you have anything else to say? Or are you just fishing for attention?
Amen! Awesome idea, for those of us that live here anyway.
California the cesspool of America. Have a nice day all you progressive voters. Hows that smell ? Like what you created ?
Diversity is our strength lol thanks dems
As a long-term Walnut Creek resident, certainly hope they sent a bunch of new graduates with freshly minted degrees in psychology and diversity training to assist…
Nutcreek Frontier: You gave me the first laugh of the morning, thanks.
