The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on Saturday morning reported responding to at least 13 fires since Friday night.
At least three of the fires were structure fires, two were vehicle fires, and there were several vegetation fires reported, according to ConFire.
Of the fires reported, at least three were known to have been caused by illegal fireworks, according to ConFire officials.
ConFire is urging residents to have a safe and fireworks free Fourth of July.
Those people need to be fined heavily and jailed. Completely irresponsible hoods.
Imagine how many more fires there might have been of they were to make fireworks legal. Even responsible people can start accidental fires.
By definition, a responsible person wouldnt be setting off fireworks in an area that could start a fire.

IMO, it’s related to the protest. When society believes law enforcement has been de-nutted, and it’s publicly okay to b-slap LEO’s, this type of crap will occur…they are now “empowered”…
Anytime someone claims to be empowered they are either broke or inherited a lot of money. Likely just returned from an EST assertiveness training class…..
Yes, because 4 weeks ago we had no crime…
How about if LEO either stops killing so many unarmed black folks…
Or, they can start killing more unarmed white folks who resist.
You assume too much. Just because there were only 3 confirmed to have been fireworks related doesn’t mean that only 3 were fireworks related. My point is if fireworks were made legal we would see a lot more accidental fires.
Those aren’t fires, they’re protests. So it’s OK.
The fire district is earning their pay tonight. As far as appealing to the public to not start fires good luck with that one. Our job is to light off fireworks and your job is to put out the fires that happen. I went to the same party that I go to every year with tons of people (plenty of girls in bikinis) and lots of kids and a great firework show in the street. Happy 4th y’all.
