as of 06/19 @ 11:30am:
2,148 confirmed cases in CCC with 56 deaths = 2.61% death rate.
The sky is falling!
alarming rise in the death toll
Or they have just reclassified some deaths…
@ConcordRez – The recent deaths all seem to be from a single outbreak in a nursing home. Today’s death was someone who was in the age 81-90 group.
For most of the community COVID-19 is a non-issue. For elderly people with medical conditions COVID-19 has been devastating. Unfortunately, asymptomatic cases are common and impossible to detect until it gets loose in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
And now at least one positive COVID-19 case at Bayberry skilled nursing facility in downtown Concord.

But here we are, opening the county. I’m sure a lot you will say “Stay home it’s your choice” out of ignorance knowing we don’t have a choice with our jobs. Wait until it effects someone you love.
Breaks over, get back to work. Floor ain’t gonna mop itself
It is still your choice. You can quit or get a different job. there are always choices. Just because you don;t like the choices doesn’t mean you don have one.
Yes Mich, exactly.
Exactly my point. Ignorance.
Well, would you look at that….

I am constantly in and out of the courthouse for work, not the best working in such a public place to feel comfortable. It’s not as easy to just quit and find a new job with my occupation.
The COVID-19 crisis has been cancelled!
Per Saturday’s release of numbers from the county:
Zero new cases.
Zero total cases when looking at the cases by day chart.
Zero recovered cases.
Zero new tests (Trump was right – if you stop testing then the cases will vanish.)
Zero people in the hospital.
Have a great weekend, father’s day, and don’t forget to wash your hands.
Dashboard says 93 new cases no new deaths
Claycord seems to have skipped doing their daily COVID-19 thing and so I’ll leave a comment here.
The data was updated at 11:30 Saturday morning but there was a glitch in the process. I suspect someone on the weekend staff hit a button at the wrong time. For a while the numbers were zeroes and then they changed to the data for 6/12/2020 before dancing around a bit and finally settling down on what seems to be today’s report.
Other than a spike of 92 or 93 new cases depending on how you count, all of the other numbers align with that there was a spike.
There also appears to have been a glitch at one of the testing labs.
The numbers of tests per day for the past few days were:
6/14/2020 1,350
6/15/2020 1,470
6/16/2020 1,728
6/17/2020 1,769
6/18/2020 755
6/19/2020 2,451
The data for 6/18/2020 is about 800 tests lower than normal and 6/19/2020 is about 800 tests higher than normal. That part evens out.
More worrisome is that the number of new cases did not drop to unusually low levels on 6/18/2020, three cities have large increases for new cases today, and many cities have small increases today.
Antioch had 22 new cases which is 14 more than the average for the last 7 days for this city.
Richmond had 25 new cases which is 13 more than the average for the last 7 days for this city.
San Pablo had 14 new cases which is 9 more than the average for the last 7 days for this city.
None of the other cities had spikes but nearly every city in the county had one or two more cases than normal.
The county had 92 new cases which is 46 more than the average for the last 7 days.
Thanks for the update, WC Resident–with all these glitches, perhaps there has been a glitch (transposition error) to get us to the 92 new cases? I hope they triple checked the numbers since it’s been averaging around 30 new cases a day. Well, no new deaths, that’s a positive.
A possible transposition error is a good point. I double checked a couple of tables and found that they also increased by 92. If the large increase is an error then it’s something that affected much more than the total number of cases.
Cases by age shows increases in the usual age ranges with the total increase being 92 cases. This table shows the count on June 18, June 19, and the increase for each of the age groups.

Cases by city also shows the spread is across many cities and that the total increase by 92. The by-city totals are four more than the by-age totals because the age for four people is unknown.
