Too what degree were the 1,066 ‘cases’. ill. Mild, moderate, serious, or not at all ? It makes a difference !

Yes, and interesting wording “fully recovered.” Makes it sound like it’s almost ok to get get the virus. No problem, right? How about follow up with the long-term health affects known so far? .. the fact that others have likely died from this virus but weren’t counted, how it can and has affected some kids, are babies protected, and as others have suggested the ages of the deceased?

Wait.. I thought it caused severe permanent lung destruction. I thought it turned the blood black. I thought we all needed ventilators. I thought we were all going to get it. I thought some people needed amputations due to COVID related symptoms. How could they have “fully recovered” without a cure or vaccine? Something tells me that the deaths and cases are under reported. dan are you hearing this? You better get over here. What are they hiding? It’s got to be something

It doesn’t make a significant difference at the moment. Just because there hasn’t been enough testing. The 1,066 confirmed cases most likely are no where near the actual amount of residents who have been infected. Especially with research showing signs of spreading in late December, it really is hard to get a full picture of how many people have gotten the virus and potentially recovered thinking it was just a bad flu.

Lots of residents who have gotten severely ill in the last two weeks of December 2019, were highly likely infected with Covid-19. I, and many of my colleagues, fell terribly ill (worse than we’ve ever been) and were bedridden for as long as a week in late December. We most likely had covid, road it out, and recovered. But there’s no way to tell conclusively without both antibody testing (contact tracing) and virus testing.

The data we base out decisions on is accurate, but incomplete. Like many Claycord residents who are commenting on here, testing is really key to solving all the issues. Many of us wish to open up again. If we had a large testing network from the very beginning, we could accurately see the larger picture of true infection rates, true deaths, true symptoms, and true recovery. This virus might be a killer for compromised individuals, but it might be just fine for the rest of the public.

The current testing group only includes people who got sick and reported it. It doesn’t take into account the potential residents who fell ill or had mild symptoms of illness and didn’t report it because they recovered on their own. Maybe it is more safe for us to reopen, as long as we take social distancing and safety seriously. Unfortunately we can’t say conclusively if it is safe or not; because we just don’t have enough data to get the most accurate numbers.

Testing Testing Testing.

We need more testing. We need everyone tested 5 times a day. Nothing can be normal again until we have a vaccine. We need 3 trillion. Oh and shut up and wear you damn mask.. right mom…do you see it yet? Time to wake up

Need to know the ages of the 32 who died.

Why do you need ages? 32 out of 1.15 million people is a 0.0002% death rate. So minuscule. Still prayers to the families who lost loved ones, not worth shutting down our essential businesses, essential for supporting our families!

I believe 27 of these deaths were from 1 nursing home in Orinda back in March.

– See Deaths by Age Group. That chart is from Contra Costa County’s heath department.

I added more detail about this in another Claycord post.

****correction!**** 27 confirmed cases were originally from 1 nursing home in Orinda back in the beginning which made our county numbers look high. 5 were employees. No update on any who died. Most patients over 80 years old.

To Nick & WC resident:
Their data exposes them. And anyone being sent to a nursing home for recovery…….it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what’s going on with that.

For the rest of you who wish to cower in place…..go ahead, PLEASE stay home while the rest of us get back to living.
BTW, I won’t be shopping at those stores who have cut their hours…..only the ones who are back to full hours.

Finally! The statistic we’ve been waiting for. Great news to al that have recovered.

The number of people who have died is an inflated number. That’s been clear since the beginning.

Looking at these numbers, as inaccurate as they are, there is no reason to keep people on lockdown, force draconian precautions, and keep businesses closed.

We the people need to stand up to the tyrants and take back our Republic and freedoms.

Population in CC County: 1,144,865
COVID-19 deaths: 32
Percentage of deaths v. population: .002%

It’s time to open up Contra Costa County!

And… condolences for the 32 losses of life.

What happened to the other 122?

Yes what did happen to the other 122?

Presumably (hopefully) self-quarrantined at home … and not out licking or coughing on groceries.

Recovering but not in the hospital.

Again, some useful information! So we have 140 confirmed active cases, 18 of which are hospitalized.

I’m sorry for the 32 who lost their lives and the 894 who were sick, but do these numbers really warrant house arrest and closure of everything?!
I don’t think so.

I still don’t see Gavin’s hair getting any longer.

lmao

It is time for freedom, not lockdowns.

Is anyone seeing this is not about health?!! It’s so obvious!
I just found out New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware patients sick with covid-19 were sent to…nursing homes. Can you take a guess what happened after that?!

I watched the Covid-19 Committee Hearing on C-Span, they said 35% of all Covid-19 deaths in the country were in nursing homes. This included employees as well as patients.

Almost 1/2 the deaths are from senior homes. These #’s —-which are way over due——give an average of 83% recovery rate. 18 hospitalized out of 1.1 million people in CCC that’s .00001636%… you have a better chance of being attacked by a land shark.

And I remember an early report that came out (I believe the first report?) showed 27 deaths in Orinda. All from 1 nursing home. I think we need to look at that as well.

Recall Gavin now!!! Time to put the man on notice!

Absolutely, it’s obvious he hates the elderly!

Thank you Claycord for this information. It reveals that 1.1 million people should not be shutdown.

Please found out how many tests are being done in Contra Costa County —- and how many tests could NOT be done due to lack of equipment. The press continually states we don’t have enough testing yet when I drive by testing sites they are always empty.

Please help answer this question —- how many people in Contra Costa County have been turned away because test kits are not available.

Why am I constantly hearing, “we need more testing”, “there’s not enough testing”, yada yada… But, I check my email and the city of Concord sent a notice that drive-up testing is available to anyone who wants it. San Francisco put up a couple of large testing sites and hardly anyone showed up – so they started focusing on testing individual districts. Bolinas tested everyone in the town. I’m always hearing about testing sites on the news too. This whole lockdown, and the media coverage of it, has gotta be the biggest crock in the history of the world.

Rob you can’t draw your conclusion from the information provided. It doesn’t fly

All you can conclude is shelter in place kept more people from being infected because we know it’s highly infectious. You can then use the verified data available to draw conclusions.

It just shows that shelter in place kept people from being infected.

If you want to get tested, drive-up is probably not the way to go. You have to go through an overloaded phone line. I gave up after 2 hours on hold on Friday. Walk-in testing seems to be pretty easily available after a fairly annoying online registration process. I made an appointment last night for testing today in Brentwood. The next two days look open as well.

The old testing page has gone 404, so here’s the current one:

https://www.coronavirus.cchealth.org/get-tested

While we might need more testing, right now we need more freedom, and more protection for the U.S. Constitution and the rights it is supposed to secure. Until then, continue to “Cower-In-Place”!

‘Cause Nancy said, “testing, testing, testing’ lot of sheep and parrots out there.

Think about this people should you decide to “go somewhere” soon..imagine 80000 bodies..then imagine all their friends and family members who didn’t get to say goodbye…80,000.

@Ozzie – “….didn’t get to say goodbye” and. “…. had to say goodbye too soon” were the lines Elizabeth Holmes used to push her Theranos company. Theranos was also a medical idea preying on people’s fears. Holmes and Theranos turned out to be a fraud – her motive was fame and money. Maybe start questioning a few things before blindly believing and parroting catchy lines.

What do you think Ozzie, that before this virus, nobody ever died?

Not as bad as we thought. Thanks!!
