Four F-15C Eagle fighter jets will perform a flyover throughout California, beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13 in salute to health care workers, first responders, and everyone on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19, according to information provided to Claycord.com by Contra Costa County Airports (Buchanan Field & Byron).
Based on the image, they may fly over Contra Costa County between 10:30 a.m. -11 a.m. tomorrow.

On a another note I love the Blue Angels, and have gone into to San Francisco to see them several times.
I don’t want to be too critical of the military (despite being somewhat liberal I believe in a strong military). However, not sure having these jets fly at this time is the best use of tax money, and it is just a fly over, it is not like the Blue Angel where you can really see them for a longer time.

Probably about as long as a commercial flight, They aren’t allowed to go supersonic and that’s a gigantic fuel waster anyway, so I would guess 600 knots, tops.

I think you are ignorant about who works at Macy’s. In the years I have worked there I have worked with people of all kinds of education level. Here are some examples; A masters degree in French, a CPA, a nurse, a veterinarian, a former bank president, an optician. a nurse with 2 masters degree. Reason these people work at Macy’s, some have degrees from other countries that they can not use in the US, often Iran or Russia, others have retired from stressful jobs such as nursing and high powered business, but like to keep busy and earn a little extra.

I’m pretty sure those costs/hour amortize the cost of the actual airplane over the total flight hours in its service life. But the plane is already bought and paid for. Most people don’t do the math that way when they want to take their car on a road trip.
If Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home order is extended three months as some are saying, they might need those F-15s.

These pilots need to fly a certain amount of hours to keep up their certifications. Instead of practicing in the desert they do a flyby over population centers. No additional cost to taxpayers besides what it costs to keep up such a force in the first place.

Some posters here took umbrage at my comments, although I was not that critical of the fly by, just lamenting that they are hard to catch, and also mentioning that the original idea was Trump’s not Newsome, for some reason those comments seem to controversial to post for Claycord.
