Diane Keaton and Sissy Spacek come to mind because they are versatile and very good at what they do. I especially like how Diane Keaton has aged so gracefully over the years without any plastic surgery and still retains her beauty.
The question didn’t ask if they are still alive, but as an actor, Dean Martin was my all time favorite. He too was versatile, he could act in comedy and drama, he could play a nice guy or a nasty villain, plus he could sing and had a lot of class.
Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, Burt Reynolds, and John Wayne, are my favorite actors that were actually not very good actors, but were fun to watch.
I enjoy Jim Carey he so funny!!!!!!

If you want living ones: Tom Hanks and Anne Hathaway, both of whom are fun and good.
Perfect subject to get our minds of the virus. Where to start, too many to mention. I’m a woman who appreciate a good looking man, so here are 2 of my favorite, both was known for their blue eyes. Paul Newman in almost any movie, George Peppard in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, especially when he tells Holly “in a minute” when she asks him if he would marry her for money. Bad boy also known for his blue eyes Steve McQueen.
Gregory Peck in to Kill a mockingbird, Sidney Poitier in The heat of the night, Clift in From Here to Eternity. Others that just are either great actors, or have certain screen presence Peter O’Toole, Rod Steiger, Burt Lancaster, Marlon Brando, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman Richard Burton and Tom Cruise in some of his earlier movies. Some of my contemporaries William Hurt, Kevin Klein, Al Pacino.
For woman 3 top favorites, Ingrid Bergman especially in Casablanca and Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, then in no particular order Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Elizabeth Taylor, Julie Christie, Candice Bergen, Natalie Wood, Anne Bancroft, French actress Jeanne Moreau and Norwegian Liv Ullman. I could go on, I don’t watch many movies but love movies from the thirties through the eighties, and have seen a lot of them.

Claycord, How about next “water cooler question” which is your favorite movie? It is such a relief to write and think about something other than the VIRUS.
While I’m on here let me just add a few more actors that I adore Alan Alda and George Hamilton. Two that are mostly known for tv, but very sexy Patrick Dempsey, and Perry King, especially in “The Last Convertible” a great mini series about the greatest generation also a very good book.
Last Tim Matheson in “Animal House” a dead ringer for someone I dated in the late sixties.

S As you can tell I have problems keeping these lists short, especially when there is such an abundance to choose from. Don’t watch many scary movies, have seen a few in the past, more old school scary Hitchcock, Psycho, the Birds. Sci-Fi would have to think hard. As you can see if Claycord ask us to list one or two, many don’t take that too seriously.

.Let me see what I can come up with even though it is kind of late. Romance Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Out of Africa (Isak Dinesen was Danish and where she grew up is now a museum which I visited just north of Copenhagen) Is Gone with the wind considered a romance movie, I guess so. Comedy Animal House and It’s a mad, mad world. Western Red River with Montgomery Clift and John Wayne, and the Oxbow Incident with Henry Fonda. Action, Bullet with Steve McQueen, and the French Connection. Scary definitely the Birds, and Rosemary’s Baby. Mystery North by Northwest Cary Grant. Sci Fi the only one I can think of is the Blob with Steve McQueen, not a fan of Sci Fi.

Friendship The Big Chill. Race relations: In the Heat of the Night, and Guess who is coming to Dinner, last one somewhat outdated, but stellar cast. Holiday movie: It’s a Wonderful Life. Wild card: Exodus, Cat on Hot Tin Roof, the Long Hot summer, these 3 could be because of Paul Newman, although they are still good movies. Have to add the Great Escape.
