Contra Costa is now reporting 51 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county.
One person (a Contra Costa man in his 70s with underlying health conditions who recently traveled outside the country) has died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the health department.
Sick enough to be tested is all I’d infer from these numbers.

20 days ago there were approximately 50 confirmed-positive cases in the entire US. Now there are 20,000, and certainly many more untested but positive cases. This is how exponential growth works. It seems like a little until suddenly it’s not.
Dangerous to the public is media, which anytime Trump is involved seem to be all but ready to “scream FIRE in a crowded theater”.
This should be a time when media is very careful to not cultivate an atmosphere of fear and take extreme care to report FACTS, . . . not ruminations and opinions
Talking head on msdnc demanded Trump be denied air time because she didn’t like what he was saying.

Please stop spreading nonsense. There are not enough tests and people are getting turned away. The numbers are far more than indicated. I have a friend in Boston who works with people with compromised health, specifically cancer patients. She got covid19 from her roommate who had been traveling. She knew she had it a week before she could get a test but has been self quaranteened at home since she found out she was exposed. Even as a doctor she could not get a test for a week and the test results take days as well. The fact that I even know someone who has it blows me away. The US is now 3rd next to Italy and China and people like you that aren’t taking it seriously are playing with lives. I lost my job and I have a mortgage, ok? But if staying the F at home is going to keep my parents from getting sick, this is worth it for the long run. Italy is 10 days ahead of us. Look at their numbers!

They did accuse me of being in violation for walking my dog.. Such ignorance by our local police!. Sports activities are one of the ways that this really spreads. There needs to be big changes around here to stop this thing. Seems like the Concord Police are interested in that!

The number of coronavirus cases in Italy continues to soar. In what has become a grim daily ritual, Angelo Borelli, the chief of the country’s Civil Protection agency, announced that in the last 24 hours, the death toll from the virus had risen by nearly 800 to a total of 4,825.
I have trouble with the information/stats that the .gov/county/health dept. releases each day.
That means 50 people tested positive out of ______ many tested?
How many people are currently sick (w/flu like symptoms) in CC County that have not been tested?
Keep in mind, once more tests are available (which will be very soon), the number of cases will seem to sky-rocket…. That’s because they will be tested.
If the slowly roll out the testing, the cases will gradually increase.

Yes they are trying to find a way to test if people have had it and recovered.
I think the same thing, there was something that came through here around the end of February and people had coughs and small fevers.
I think it might have come through but without testing we don’t know.
Mr. Biden thinking rationally being used in a sentence is the funniest thing I heard all day. Thank you for your humor and a good laugh.
51 positive/1 death
So, if there 100 non tested people sick, but they only test 5, and then 1 is positive, it will be 52 positive/1 death.
If officials don’t acknowledge (test) the other 95, does that mean the virus isn’t that bad?
These numbers are almost meaningless as we don’t have massive testing needed
However based on what we have here are the numbers of people infected and the percentage of what happened to them.
This up to 3/16/20
Hospitalization- 20.7%-31.4%
ICU Admission- 4.9%-11.5%
Mortality-1/8%-3.4%
Those numbers will change and drop as more testing comes available.
