Yanni’s Gyros and Burgers, located on Concord Ave. in downtown Concord, is now closed.

The owners of the store posted a note on their door, stating they were forced to close their restaurant due to “ongoing health complications.”

They did say they plan to open food truck in the near future.

We wish them all the best in the future.

Oh No. Loved that place. Their Feta cheese fries were the best.

That is very unfortunate. Prayers for their recovery and success in the future.

Damnnn! Loved that place. A little 🐛

Best gyros in Concord. Sad news. Wish them well.

Oh, I just stopped by last week to ask a question and planned to pick up lunch tomorrow. Wishing all the best!

But opening a food truck?

Sounds like the rent went up & was too high & not able to generate enough revenue.

Good point. That is a pretty prime location. I wouldn’t be surprised if whoever owned that land wanted to push out their tenants and sell it for redevelopment.

Look what’s becoming of the building that housed the Old Hangout.

Health issues but opening a food truck? After a couple years they probably realized how crappy that location is. I never thought to go there.

That is SAD news! Praying for better health.

Hi Everyone, it’s Voula the owner of Yanni’s. just wanted to clarify why I had to close. I’m going on my 4th surgery of the year and even after the recovery period, I will not be able to put in the long hours that a restaurant demands. The food truck, which won’t happen for a while, affords me the luxury of working only lunch. That’s about all I can handle after 40 years in this industry. I want to thank all of you that supported all 3 Yanni’s locations over the years and hopefully, we will see you again in the future.

Wishing you all the best with your surgery. Looking forward to trying the food truck once it’s available. I’ll miss Yanni’s.

You are lovely and I’m so sad to see you close. Your cook was SUCH a great guy. He was always so kind. I wish you could have passed the torch to him but I understand it’s a financial decision. Please take care of yourself and thanks for bringing our community such delicious food and a warm happy space. You will be missed and I am going to loose weight because of you!

Never as good as the location that had out in Virginia Hills.. Also crappy parking. Hope whatever the health issue is its resolved soon
If anyone wants really god Greek food head to Troy in Martinez. Food is almost as good as any taverna on Mykonos

Sad. I knew Yanni when he was just a little boy.
And ate at their Pleasant Hill location, every Friday for a month at first.
I also had Yanni’s gyros before I went to Greece and didn’t even have a gyro at Greece. That’s how good it was.
Sad.

Sorry to see them go, I stopped in occasionally for lunch and enjoyed their food.

It was a nice walk from the theater to grab food there. Yannis will be missed! By the way, they had one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.

These were very nice people. My best to them all.
