Eugene Huff has been named as the interim chancellor of the Contra Costa Community College District, the district governing board announced.
Huff’s contract began Thursday and will run through the end of the year, or until a permanent chancellor is selected. He succeeds Fred Wood, who served as chancellor since 2017 of the three-campus district, which is headquartered in Martinez.
Huff has been with the district since 2001, starting in human resources and advancing to vice chancellor of human resources in 2004, serving as the district’s chief negotiator. He was promoted to executive vice chancellor of administrative services in 2013, overseeing district fiscal services, human resources, information technology, police services and risk management areas.
Before joining the college district, Huff worked in private sector human resources and operations management roles for more than 10 years and led the start-up of the human resources function for a non-profit
organization. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s degree in human resources management from Purdue University.
The district is conducting a national search for a permanent chancellor, with a goal of completing the search by April and naming a replacement by the end of June.
Hey!! He’s a nice looking man! If he’s not married I’m available for drinks on Friday night!
I know, right? With that warm smile he looks nice on the inside also, but that’s harder to judge. He sure does tick all the boxes in the looks department, as long as he has all of his teeth and they aren’t a weird color or anything.
Eugene Huff is currently making $268,000 as executive vice-chancellor of administrative services. That’s just 1 position.
And you wonder why college tuition has skyrocketed & students graduate heavily in debt.
Now he’s about to get a pay raise.
You’re only paying $46/unit, quite a deal for what you’re getting, I wouldn’t complain.
