Concord Police Department arrested two individuals during a DUI checkpoint on Friday Dec.20.
The checkpoint was on Clayton Rd. at Ayers Rd. between the hours of 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
2 is better than none. wonder is the arrests were for DUI at that time or something else, like a warrant???
In mine, none would be better than two. In a perfect world nobody is driving under the influence and there are no people that would need to be detained or arrested.
Touche’
Yoi can see those from a mile away just turn down a side street and turn around. Dont drink and drive though bc it’s not worth it trust me.
Now if they could spot drivers who were driving high/marijuana, that number would have been about 10x higher. SO many people driving while high – very scary.
Indeed it’s ridiculous!
Officers are pretty adept at spotting people under the influence of pretty much everything…
just watch for those really safe drivers
Set one up in front of a bar.
Yes. I was in Walnut Creek last Friday night. I saw all these drunk morons running around from bar to bar. Why don’t the WCPD or other police departments in the cities do that?
They could get so many of these dangerous drunks off the road. The checkpoints never come up with many of the folks that need to be in jail. I am sick of my tax dollars wasted on these silly checkpoints. Like looking for a rock in two tons of sand. Give me a break.
There are several officers at Concord Pavilion at every show. Tons of drunks leaving there. The city would make a fortune if they stopped them all on their way out!
Coming out of BART stations as well
