An alleged burglar was caught in Walnut Creek after he left his cell phone at the scene of the crime, then went to the Walnut Creek Police Department to pick it up, according to authorities.

Police identified the suspect as Shane Traynor.

He was arrested for burglary, and transported to the county jail in Martinez.

WOW just WOW, there really are people out there lke this…

+1

Plus one more on that one.

That was an easy arrest.

Thanks- I needed a good laugh this morning.

Can you hear me now?

WCPD must have had a few laughs over this! Poor guy left his brains too.

And this guy votes??? He might be a product of public schools, if he even went.

Downright hilarious

I assume he will or did report it stolen before the burglary? That excuse has been used to evade more serious crimes. Google Leigh Gary-Farrington.

Does not matter stealing is legal

Don’t even know why they bother

It does absolutely nothing

The word is out

Theft is now an occupation

And your the store

The city councils and DA AND THE GOVERNOR AND POLITICIANS

All supported and spent millions to pass the law for legal theft

As well as you voting for it like lemmings

You wanted it now stop complaining

It looks great around here doesn’t it

HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA
idiot

Not what you’d call the perfect crime.

File under, Too dumb to be a crook.

Sure would like a backstory on this.
What is drawing these criminals to certain locations, are they doing contractor work and scoping out the neighborhood??

Me too!

Throw him in the running for the annual Darwin award. I think he has a shot.

👍

Bad day for this guy, with hopefully, many more to follow. Just as likely though, he’ll be back out there doing what he does.
The answer is sinple- build enough prison space, or guys like Shane will continue to practice their trade without fear.
Amazing that he would go near the police, indicating some serious issue
with basic logic.Too much meth?
Yeah, bdml, there are really people like that running around out there.WOW!

I think the WCPD will put him on hold for awhile.

LOL, not the sharpest tool in the shed!

One of the local radio host, who is no longer on the air, use to do a weekly segment named dumb criminals, I think this guy qualifies.

A credit to his kind.

One of the best descriptions of the night

DUMBASS!!

Wonder what was on his phone that was so important? Maybe evidence of other crimes?

Good thing he didnt drop his drugs. Losing his phone and drugs would have been his worst day ever.

There is that lower lip thing I was talking about.

A soul patch (also known as a mouche, a flavour saver, or a jazz dot) is a single small patch of facial hair just below the lower lip and above the chin. It came to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was a style of facial hair common among African-American men, most notably jazzmen.

Here’s your sign

I gave this guy a ride home when he asked me for a ride on Clayton rd about a month ago. When I got back I noticed he had dropped his Bart card, and I drove back to his house and gave it to him.He said he need it to get to work doing construction, possibly in WC.
Daytime shoplifting is considered burglary, and he probably left it on a store counter after taking something and not paying, prpbably during a lunch break. How did he know his phone was there BTW? He called it and the police said it got turned in?He didn’t seem like then high IQ type, and he seems to lose small items very easily.

THIS is the one that got away…from Darwin.

This doesn’t make any sense, almost as if he didn’t do it.

And the first place winner if the worlds dumbest criminal in the planet goes to……….! What a moron!!!!!!
