Lafayette Police are investigating a violent home invasion robbery.

On Tuesday, Nov.26, at about 11:00 p.m., Lafayette Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a home invasion robbery that happened on the 1100 block of Crestmont Drive in Lafayette.

The incident involved three suspects who were armed with a pistol. The suspects entered the residence through an open garage door. The suspects assaulted a male resident and then restrained both residents. The suspects went through the house, stealing valuables and personal items.

When the suspects left the home, they left both residents still restrained. It took the residents several hours before they were able to get free and call 9-1-1. The residents said that the suspects entered the home around 7:30 p.m.

Both victims suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Lafayette Police Investigations and the Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab responded, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department at (925) 283-3680 or (925) 299-3234. For any tips, email: 94549TIP@gmail.com or call (866) 846-3592 to leave an anonymous voice message.

Keep your doors locked and an AR-15 handy.

But but but we keep getting told that AR’s are weapons of war and no good for home defense!

It’s good advice, since Lafayette seems to be suffering from home invasions these days.

Unless you have a RAW AR-15 with a legally acquired 30 rounder I feel like it’s a mediocre choice. Unfortunately for Cali you gotta choose between a fixed 10 round mag or a detachable 10 round mag with no flash hider… could be too bright and loud indoors but I have no experience there and maybe it’s not that bad.

A 12 gauge with 7 rounds of 00 buck on the other hand…

Thank goodness the residents were able to free themselves and were not mortally harmed. Blessings and hopes that they are resilient in healing this traumatic incident. I hope that the police find these people and these residents receive justice.

How frightening that must have been. How about a description of the robbers?

They told you by not putting any description in.

So why were no descriptions of the suspects given if police want to catch them? I’m pretty sure I know the answer, but had to ask.

Are you assuming there may be a connection to the Orinda holloween shooting?

@ TraumaRx,
Hum, don’t think that’s what chuckie was assuming or questioning.
Maybe the suspects had their faces masked?

They don’t give out info as would jeopardize the investigation. Plain and simple.

Hi Roz…what’s for eats at your house tomorrow? We are having traditional Turkey with all the fixings. Homemade apple cake and a couple pie’s, football and beer:) Happy Thanksgiving my friend.

Hey Simonpure ~
We are going to my Aunt’s house and there will be all the traditional goods, plus Italian dishes to munch on too. Bringing a casserole,… cross between lasagna and pizza,…sausage ,saucy, cheesy.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family too my friend.

If it were 3 White guys or 3 Hispanic guys or 3 Asian guys the cops would have said so. Figure it out.

You know. When they leave something out, you know.

I think all 3 robberies were done by the same people and there will be a 4th soon if they aren’t caught.

Would not be surprised to learn these criminals were already on either probation or parole.

guarenteed the parties involved were know to each other beforehand

That would be my guess, too.

The police will just catch and release until they get the right ones. How about getting it right the first time guys.

Quit pretending to be a nurse. You have fooled no one.

This is so horrible. I can’t imagine the trauma for the residents. It took them several hours to free themselves and call for help. What if they hadn’t been able to free themselves at all? How many days would they have laid there tied up?? This is the second violent home invasion robbery in Lafayette in the last month or so. I really hope they catch them before they commit another one.

I say it again: how can the general public help each other when the race of the perpetrators are not revealed?? Are we so politically ham-strung correct that that information cannot be revealed?

What a waste!!!

It is not necessary to reveal ANY details. Let the professionals handle these matters.

They would reveal if they were Caucasian men. In fact, they would lead with it.

Hum, another home invasion robbery in Lafayette its almost commonplace now, bad guys know there are lots of low hanging fruit in Lafayette and Orinda even where I live in WC, all the while our friends on the left want to disarm us law abiding gun owners.

As noted above by Aunt Barbara, be careful about being followed home from shopping trips. Just a few years ago, a couple from Orinda was followed home from a grocery shopping trip. The per pulled into the driveway behind them. The wife was shot (survived) and he was beaten. Purse and wallet stolen.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I were being followed by a small old looking car. The driver was trying to get me to pull over (I was driving) He flashed his brights, and hollered something which I couldn’t hear. When he continued to follow us after two turns, I went up our street to the cul de sac and came around. He turned around and took off. We didn’t go home right away, drove around for awhile. I didn’t see anyone else following; if i had, I’d have drove to the police station.

Be aware and alert to your surroundings. There are dirtbags everywhere.

You elect liberal politicians, who then appoint liberal judges…this is what you get. The police would love to be more proactive, but are sidelined by the politicians they report to.

The citizens of Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga should be buying guns and getting trained, the training is very important.

The people who have stuff to steal are not electing these awful politicians.

I’ll be sure to be on the lookout, not sure what I’m looking for. Law Enforcement has gone the route of BART, because ONE crybaby gets offended we now have to withhold the description of criminals. More Minority rules in clown world.

Yes, it is necessary to release details aka descriptions of invaders. How else do we know who to look out for? You would rather, we assume identity, based on statistics of previous home invasions? Cause that’s what will do when you make us guess.

They probably just took BART to Lafayette, got off the train and headed toward Happy Valley Road looking for a victim on a quiet side street with their garage door open or some other sign of easy access or vulnerability. It’s an upscale neighborhood. It sure sucks.

They stole the victims car, so you could be right. Others are saying (in Lamorinda) they were followed from the bank, store, etc. but that would leave the suspects car behind, and that’s not being reported. I guess they could’ve stolen the victims car and driven their own car away, since there were three suspects.

We’re sick of this.

That narrows the field down to ohhh maybe 20 or 30 thousand suspects. Bet they had hoodies on too.

Salty here…

Dont encourage RXdrama. Person is a clown. Anti police. Typical far left nut job.

Salty out!!

2 new firearms shoppers! Welcome to reality.

You seem to be having a great time here…

They had on face masks. Not sure about hoodies, but it’s the norm.

Lafayette and Orinda is getting more police presence (sheriffs) effective immediately. We need it.

What a difference between CA and Florida. In CA criminals are all but guaranteed by politicians their victims will be defenseless, versus Florida where recently a criminal found their victim was not a victim.

Just look for the car with 24” rims. There can’t be more than one of those in Lafayette at any one time.
