Four people were killed and several were injured in a shooting Thursday night in Orinda.
The shooting occurred at a residence in the area of Lucille Way and Knickerbocker Lane.
The Orinda Police Department and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s office reported Thursday night the incident included multiple victims.
No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
House is on Lucille Way in Orinda. SFGate reports it’s Steph Currie’s old house, was an Air B&B rented for a party. Had over 100 people there.
It’s not Stephs old house. They’re just saying he lived in Orinda.
Please read carefully, all it says is that the Currys used to live in Orinda.
Blame SFGate. They want clicks so they can pump up their ad revenue. It says “Golden State Warriors star Steph and his wife, Ayesha, lived here at one time.” implying this is the same house. Yeah when you click on the link it goes to another house. My bad.
How horrible!
So sad!
“Oakland comes to Orinda” is the most Orinda thing ever. Used to work in Orinda, and maybe 5 people in the whole city were genuinely kind and not completely self absorbed. NOT looking forward to all the Orindian assumptions and low key racism that will come from this sad and tragic event.
It will also show that it’s exactly as expected for the person(s) responsible time and time again….
The flyer for the party is online. And it’s not a racist notion that the black community really needs some soul searching and guidance regarding its self destructive behaviors.
My thoughts exactly.
Misslivealittle – Instead of complaining about racism & you don’t want people thinking of others by stereotypes, then you should be angry with these partygoers & calling them out for living up to their stereotype.
Read the flyer for the party they advertised. They cannot bring Hood Rat behavior into quiet suburbs & expect nobody to notice. Be accountable!
DVC Student – I’ve been unable to find that flyer online. I guess my Google fu stinks. Can you point me to it.?
And if it had been some loser white kid that came to a party and shot the place up, this would be national news, with about three Dozen Democrats using it to push for more gun control, and harping on toxic whiteness or some such.
I’m more offended by the fact that when something like this happens in the black community, nobody pushes for these kids to do better. Nobody puts their foot down and says this kind of thing will not be tolerated ever again, and make it stick. Instead you hear the usual chorus of people crying racism at anyone that notices the pattern. That is the bigotry of low expectations right there.
Thank their flyer below for “Orindian assumptions.”
Fools even identified themselves on their flyer with their face pics & Instagram usernames.
Spot on assessment, Wage Slave
The people that work in Orinda don’t live there, they cant afford to on the salary of a cheapskate Orinda business owner.I worked in Lafayette for years, and nobody that worked there lived there, and when out of towners came in looking for driving directions in Lafayette, they would get upset when they realized it was so expensive that anyone working there didn’t know anything about the cities layout and didn’t want or need to.Girls would flirt with us at the gas station we worked at,and when I told them I lived in Martinez at the time, they would give me a funny look.1 person lived in Napa, the other Fremont and another in Antioch and the owner in Alamo.Low paying jobs in a high dollar city makes for a lot of commuting. So if youre working with people in Orinda, youre just working with Concord,Oakland and pittsburg people. No employee there could live there.High dollar companies want low paid staff.
Months ago the City of Oakley banned new B+B rentals after a similar party.
Claycord Plus!……. nah, it loses it’s unique character and focus.
Outside the immediate Concord / Clayton area news should just stay subjective.
Included or excluded solely by editor’s decision.
Steph Curry lived over by the country club, other side of town.
Can’t figure out how the Oak Springs area would be ,a good place for Airb&b. Very odd.
Reading some articles, it is clear that the homeowner purchased the house for the purpose of renting it on AIrBnB, not to actually live in it. So basically he wanted to run a hotel, but without any of the regulations that a real hotel would have. He bought the home about a year ago and in that short amount of time. the house has been the location of parties that “sometimes get out of hand” (according to a neighbor quoted in an article).
I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner of the house didn’t even live anywhere near the Bay Area. He’s trying to run a hotel at a distance, in a quiet residential neighborhood, without any employees, and relying on Ring as his only method of security. This guy needs to be shut down by the city of Orinda pronto.
Spot on.
The owner is a doctor and his medical practice is based in Lafayette.
So sad. Prayers for the families of those injured and lost.
Steph Curry used to live in Orinda What in the wide wide wide world of sports does that have to do with the shootings SO WHAT!!!!
Needs to be regulated, sorry. Morons have ruined it.
Lafayette has been having issues as well.
If I’m paying 10k+ in property taxes, I am saying something.
I am so sick of this. Why can’t this state pass common sense gun laws to prevent gun violence. marc desaulnier, please help us!!!! A town hall meeting is needed immediately.
California has the strictest gun control laws in the country. It already has the laws that gun control groups are pushing congress for – universal background checks, assault weapons bans, 10 day waiting period, red flag laws, background checks to buy ammunition, firearms registered at purchase – what additional laws would stop these kinds of acts?
I don’t think Mark can help us.
Huh? Murder is against the law.
If the person is murdering 4 people in front of 100 witnesses, why do you think he would follow a new gun law?
mark can help us!!!!!! His town hall meetings have solved countless problems and saved an unknown number of lives!!!!!! Wake up people!!!!! Outlaw guns and gun violence goes away!!!!!!!!
Ok, I see now. BurnBabyBurn is being satirica. Got me, I admit.
LMAO – My Bad! I fell for BURNBABYBURN’s sarcasm too, Yves Harlowe.
I usually have a good sarcasm detector but I succumbed on that one.
Firstly, who cares if an overpriced, hero worshipped ball dribbler once lived in Orinda? I’m curious who the victims were? Family suicide? College party run amok? Gangster rap party acting out their rhymes?
When you have a open party, lots of bad things can happen. Boze + Drugs and young Males going after Females = Problems…..
Except this time, it wasn’t the bad, scary, White Males.
Hmmmm….
My thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of the victims that passed
All cities should ban Airbnb rentals. Airbnb is nothing but trouble. I feel bad for the victims and their families, but the neighbors are victims as well in every Airbnb gone bad situation.
People rented an AnB and told the landlord it was for a family reunion of 12 people.
Landlord said he got calls from neighbors about the noise and that his wife reached out to the woman (renter), who claimed there were only 12 people in the home. Landlord said he saw more than 12 people there using footage from the Ring doorbell camera at his house.
When the police showed up there was about a hundred not counting those who ran away when the shooting started.
Something like this can, and has, happened anywhere, what a terrible tragedy.
This would never happen in my gated community in Blackhawk.
Hey TraumaRx, how’s the weather way up there on your high horse?
Master troll or extremely naive? Isn’t theft a problem in Blackhawk lately?
You might feel safe and secure living in a gated community, but there are plenty of criminals living in there with you.
TraumaRx – You claim to live in Blackhawk, Alamo, have rental property in Walnut Creek (by Trinity Center), etc. Do you have rental property in Atherton and Beverly Hills too?
I believe you live in Concord. Just a guess. Thanks for the chuckle.
“Master troll” might be a bit of a stretch.
It was an AirBnB and the renters & guests are not from Orinda.
Read the flier for their “Mansion Party”
So true Natalie!
Common sense gun laws do not keep the guns out of the hands of criminals. Period.
You got that right !
Yes. Because criminals don’t obey laws.
Back in the days before Air BNB, KMEL used to rent places supposedly for a birthday party, and then throw a massive party requiring the same sort of police response. Hotels and motels have this same problem from time to time. The problem is that the persons running this kind of party business usually get to walk away without facing severe legal consequences.
The problem isn’t the dwelling, it’s the people.

Flyer –
Seems like airbnb is ruining neighborhoods. Owner and airbnb relying on plausible deniability.
Ha, I knew some of you would bite.
Soooo it’s safe to say that it’s OK to racial profile at this point? All the posts and news are of no other race more frequent than African Americans. Walnut Creek LuLulemon, Apple store, Elderly lady getting wallet stolen at the market and many others. Look this is no longer fiction, it’s fact at this point. When these POS people have been given the opportunity to host a party with a small gathering that they had mentioned ( and in the clause says no parties and on top of deceiving and lying on both counts) go and f it up. They do this upon themselves and no one else. I feel so so sad for the people and neighbors who had to experience this in Orinda. They should ban together and petition that NO Air bnb allowed, which I think after this tragedy there will be no second thoughts. Good to hear it was there own and not an innocent neighbor with a stray bullet going into someone else’s home, that would have been another awful scenario, but glad it didn’t happen.
Well there you go, Bay area Halloween parties are deadlier than trick or treating this year.
Are you sure you have the right store?
What time was this robbery at?
