Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday announced the launch of a new website at response.ca.gov that gathers information on a variety of services and resources that can be used by people affected by wildfires and power shutoffs around the state.
The website has information on current wildfires, transportation impacts, shelter and housing options, health and government services, preparedness tips and other resources.
“California continues to rise to the challenge of power shutoffs and natural disasters,” Newsom said in a news release. “This site will continuously be updated as needed to provide Californians with the resources they need.”
Newsom declared a statewide emergency on Sunday because of dangerous weather conditions that have fanned the flames of the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County as well as wildfires in Southern California.
He is visiting a Cal Fire base camp in Santa Rosa on Monday afternoon and has previously met with emergency responders, local leaders and residents in Geyserville, Napa, Petaluma and Los Angeles in the past week,
according to the governor’s office.
My power has been off since Saturday. Earlier in October it was off 3 days. In Oct 2017 I was evacuated for a week because of fires. I feel qualified to criticize authorities while being sensitive to people who have lost their homes. The Public Utilities Commission and the governors that appointed them own this as much as PGE. This includes Dodds, Newsom, and everyone else pushing stuff we don’t want at the expense of things we do (while taking our money to do them). This website is not useful unless it tells me when the power will be off and when it will be back on so I can plan and execute my daily life, like grocery shopping for my family. My anger increases by the day and I will not forget their useless lip service.
“I feel qualified to criticize authorities while being sensitive to people who have lost their homes.”
You seem to be implying the rest of us proles are not qualified to criticize authorities.
What is the web address?
did you actually read the article?????? Gheeze

Well if you don’t like PG&E, just buy a windmill or a solar panel. Lots of Democrat greenie lobbyists will line up to sell you them. And if you refuse, no worries, Nancy Pelosi’s nephew will make PG&E buy them instead.
Remember Solyndra?
It’s one more reason why we now have so many greedy Democrat socialists running around. They line their pockets, and back their well-connected crony capitalist friends. They enact feel good laws that ultimately do far more harm to the ecology than PG&E ever could on its own.
Sue PG&E? Remember you are suing yourself. If you happen to pay for electricity that is. It will only skyrocket. A better solution would be to improve the existing infrastructure, manage the forests properly, and get rid of all the new green laws that are diverting resources away from common sense solutions.
And, yes, recall Nancy’s pajama boy nephew.
Online petitions do not count. Go to https://ranaf.org/ for the petition that is approved.
Googlar, I will not speak to anyone else’s qualifications. Feel free to do what you want.

How does a website help someone without power or cell phone service?
Being proactive means controlling a situation rather than responding to it after it has happened. We have always had wind but never this many fires. These situations should have been prevented in the first place with better land management. California has been run by demoRATS for way too many years who don’t know how to govern.
It is great that Newsom has visited the areas effected in the North Bay, that he is obviously involved and concerned, but when he steps up to the microphone, for all intents and purposes he enters into a love affair with the sound of his own voice. Newsom needs to stick to his notes and a desire for brevity. He rambles on excessively and incoherently when there are experts on hand who can give a more enlightened and succinct presentation.
The Mayor of Concord, like the Mayors of Lafayette and San Jose, would do well to be present and available … if she cared … guess she doesn’t. In the case of her absence, someone with the City of Concord needed to be appointed to act in the public interest. Best to remember their lack of concern and apathy come election day.
” “California continues to rise to the challenge of power shutoffs and natural disasters,” Newsom said…”
IF sane rational forestry management practices at state and federal level had taken place, fires would not have heavy fuel loads which makes control extremely difficult.
As for politicians, oversight of this state is a friggin’ joke.
They are more than willing to put their hand out for campaign contributions and are more than willing to attempt to out liberal the rest of the world. And stand ready to throw more of your tax dollars at problems often, created at their hands.
But when it comes to doing logical mental activity it takes to get stuff done right, . . . . Mensa they ain’t.
As for newsom, seems he’s been leading from behind his entire political career.

California DESERVES better than management by body bag ! ! !
Who voted for Newsom? Seriously. Id like to know why????
Newson is a narcissistic moron, just a bit more polished than Trump. Someone should ask him about sleeping with his campaign managers wife….oh, he went to three days of therapy.
