The smoke is pretty intense in Concord, we need more information on where this fire is and the containment status.

According to the Cal Fire incident page, there are no fires burning in Solano County right now. https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/

I went and picked up N95 masks from the local hardware store, which were flying off the shelves. The air quality is pretty bad and it’s coming into our house.

JustMe October 27, 2019 - 5:47 PM - 5:47 PM

As of right now, the air quality is going to be 102 tomorrow or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups

Will be using an n95 mask if I need to be outside until air condition improves. The masks do, however, make breathing more difficult.

I purchased Honeywell HEPA air purifiers for the house after last year’s October smokey air. They have worked great and also help greatly with pollen issues. I vacuum the first filter each week and am amazed at the crap that is filtered. Worth a look of you want to improve air quality in your home or office.

Jo October 27, 2019 - 6:29 PM - 6:29 PM

Does anyone know where this smoke is coming from?

Gittyup October 27, 2019 - 8:13 PM - 8:13 PM

@Jo It would depend on where you are, but the smoke from the Kincaid fire appeared to be blowing off to the West and towards the ocean on the last weather report I saw. The Crockett and Vallejo, Martinez fires, or anything more local to you may be to blame. Generally from the forecast, the winds appear to be blowing to the South and Southwest in Contra Costa County. So thesmoke may be from a fire that is North of you.
