Due to predicted high winds at the Summit (70-mph+), low relative humidity, a Red Flag Warning and a planned PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff, Mt. Diablo State Park will be closed to the public from now until Monday at 2:00 p.m.
The park closure affects all users, including vehicles, hikers, runners, bicyclists, equestrians, etc.
Please respect the closure for the safety of the park and surrounding residents.

Shouldn’t they be shutting off the power too? ( just to be safe)
I hiked up mt D (at night) a couple weeks ago and noticed how warm and less dense the air was while hiking up the eagle peak trail… crazy how at night, the warmer air sticks around the mountain
Fire on Leon Drive (out Morgan Territory Rd.).. started approx. 6-6:30am… as reported by a resident notifying others in the area a few minutes ago, approx 5-6 acres have burned and only a couple fire trucks had been on seen at that point. Additional sirens just heard a moment ago. Also, apparently a tree has fallen on Morgan Territory between Curry Canyon and Marsh Creek Road blocking half the roadway.
The park needs to close gates at Donner Creek in Clayton. Cheap skates park on mountaire and regency dr to bring dogs in and not abide by park closures
It’s irresponsible for the Park not to close any access gate, especially ones that are so close to homes. They are inviting people to circumvent the shut down of the park. There are volunteers in almost all areas affected that can be charged with closing the gate if the Park planned accordingly and was really concerned about residents along with concern about the parklands

Hikers will violate the closure on Regency Drive guaranteed. They dont give a damn about the seriousness and the risk to the homeowners. Hopefully they get ticketed.

when will the park care about the neighborhood and close all gates. It’s dangerous and hikers know how to heat the system.

They should just close the gate. That entrance has caused way too many problems i.e. parking, arson, littering etc. Its a nuisance.
