I’m surprised they stayed open as long as they did.

How do you figure? They were always busy, had a great crowd and hardly ever any drama.

Tried it twice and was really disappointed. Undercooked fries came 1/2 hour after my burger. Servers standing in the corner on their phones instead of checking on tables.

Because the food was gross.

Hate to say it, but found this place disappointing. Food wasn’t great, service was slow. Needed a better beer selection.

Wanted to love it for its huge patio, but the vibe was never there. Hopefully someone takes it over and makes more of the space.

Best of luck.

I disagree my friend. The food was ok, not AMAZING but good enough. As a weekend regular I’ll tell you nobody was going for the food. We went because the bartenders were amazing, the owner was cool as hell, and the people who went every weekend got to know each other and were super cool. Never saw a fight or drama in all my days there. I’m very disappointed to hear they’re closing.

Bruh, the fist half of your response is why they are out of business. Regulars don’t pay the bills, they get free drinks… There are NO friends in business. Just saying

lived in concord my whole life, this is the first time I’ve heard of this place in my 34 years on this earth.

Same here! Been here 60 years, never heard of the place.

Me too, never ever heard of this place either & I’ve lived here since 1989!

Just what I was thinking.

Make that 70 years. There were those ten years I lost somewhere.

Think it was ’49 to ’59. Sick a lot.

Does Time Out ring a bell?

Had no idea this place even existed. Lived around here for many years.

First I have heard of this place. Been in concord more than 40 years. Tells me must not of been all that great. Sorry

@MEV “Does Time Out ring a bell?” No, hum a few bars and I’ll see if I recognize it.

This place hasn’t been around 30-60 so don’t be ridiculous

Thanks for 4 good years, David and Co!

Thanks for 4 good years, David!

So sorry to hear this. 🙁 Best wishes on your new adventure .

I’m so sad and so disappointed to hear this. Dave and Dee were the best and so were all of the employees. We were all made to feel like Family there. We were regulars, I met my man there and my kids loved their pizza, tater tots and sweet potato fries. My personal favorite was their nachos and French Dip. I am going out with a bang this evening. Love and hugs to all. This was a great, made you feel at home kinda place and vibe. Never any drama or problems, I’ll miss my “Cheers”. Love you all.

Not surprised. If you weren’t a regular here the service was the worst. Food was mediocre at best.

Hmmm..I’ve never even noticed this establishment – so, no loss for me!!

We LOVED this place. Great food. Great staff. Hate to see this place go!
Great Karaoke and dominos! Wishing you and the family the best Dave! God Bless and Thank you for 4 incredible years!

Have made lots of friends at Grant St. I feel like all the employees are wonderful, good food. I have gone there for 4 years for karaoke and will miss it so much. Lots of fun. We have all become extended family members and will miss Tiffany and Steve and Cathy and Mark. The bartenders are awesome. Will miss them all. Best of luck to you all in the future.

Awww man so sad to see this nice place to go away. the nicest place to sing outdoor with plenty of fresh air. I only been there for a year or so. 4 incredible years I cannot believe how selfish of the patron are leaving negatives reviews here and also on Yelp:( Dave and Dee are AMAZING people people who ran the place. you will be missed!!!!! I will be thinking of you. I met a lot of cool people there, staff members are great, bartenders are super friendly and best of all Dave and Dee.

How is it selfish to tell it like it is? We don’t owe these people anything! Their food was bad and their drinks were amateur. Being nice to regulars does not a business make.

So incredibly sad about this! It’s the only place I truly love to go. Could go dressed nice, dressed down….it didn’t matter. The only place around with a big patio that you can just relax and have a good time. No drama, always fun. And the food was delicious….my chicken sandwich that I crave, the loaded tots, oh the Stromboli! 🙁 My heart breaks for Dave, his family and the staff. 🙁

This is for all the comments saying “I’m not surprised etc…”

The new building owner does not want that property used for that business. Straight forward. It has nothing to do with the service/food etc.

Thank you.

if u r a real councilman, please do not vote to aporove another motel, fast food joint, or housing.

Welcome Back, Councilman Davis, one of the early Claycordians.

What does the new owner want it used for?

Cowellian! Good to see you’re still here!

I miss the old online council meetings.

It used to be Verdi’s. Owned by the family of Andy Verdi. It was a great bar in its hay day. I worked there in the 80’s, when the back of the bus gang filled the bar stools. Its probably one of the oldest bars in Concord.

The crowd was fun, the food was NEVER the draw. It was a place to enjoy the crowd.

What happened? Rent too high? Loss of liquor license? Too much time, not enough profit for the owners?

It’s pretty tuff when People use that as a drive in like the drunk a while back.

If it wasn’t for I being located on grant street that place would have been gone a long time ago. Everything about that place was weird. The owner even showed me a picture of himself dressed as a transvestite for Halloween. I didn’t even bother to ask why. Pretty glad this place is closing, I would eat all there pizza for free everyday I went. Maybe that’s why there closing.

AMAZING & GREAT send off tonight!! David and Dee, you will be missed!!! So much support there tonight. Loved seeing it, and being a part of it! Thank you for always being so warm and welcoming when I came in. Great place to hang and enjoy sports and conversation. Thank you too to your staff, always smiling and welcoming as well. Best of luck on whatever comes next! 😊

A lot of haters out there

Not surprised. Everything here was mehh. Ive been several times and was woefully underwhelmed every time. I could list the reasons but whats the point. Most memorably I came when there was a Trump supporter meeting going on on the Patio. Not saying people cant support who they want but I was definitely turned off by trying to enjoy a meal and being forced to hear the rhetoric.

Very sad to see Grant Street Pub close. Good luck David and family, you were a great host!

Went there 2x in last 3 years.

Both times it wasn’t too busy (bar 3/4 stools full & maybe 1-2 tables).

First time with the wife: Sat at table for 10 minutes, no drink orders. Went to bar, was told food server will be over. 5 minutes later, she showed up, 10 minutes later drinks arrived. We decided not to stay/went elsewhere for food.

Second time was a repeat with a friend. We left after 20 minutes of not getting served.

Haven’t been back.

Not surprised at all the first time I went inside they served me flat beer and cold pizza the food was not okay not bad, it was straight up gross. Nothing personal I’m sure the people there are great but the vibes were real depressing when I was there

I mean just the sound decibels alone, staggering. Thanks city blanning bit partment. I am praying the family finds a much better locale.

Sorry to hear this it was a nice place. I here some of the employees don’t get payed ?

Good riddance horrible place

I used to go there when it was Time Out, even played there a few times. I was bummed when it changed to the pizza place so I only went in once and wasn’t impressed. Bring back Time Out!!
