An aftershock with a 3.5 magnitude rattled the same area affected by a 4.3 earthquake Tuesday afternoon east of Blackhawk in Contra Costa
County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey
The first quake was reported at 1:11 p.m., centered 7.5 miles east of Blackhawk near the Los Vaqueros Reservoir.

The 3.5 aftershock was then reported 13 minutes later, according to the USGS.

The initial earthquake could be felt through much of the East Bay. No damage has been reported from the quake.

Felt it in Concord, but it was a very light shake for a short time. I wasn’t sure it was a quake until I read it online.

I felt it and my neighbor said his mother felt it in Pleasanton…………..

I was working in Danville, didn’t feel a thing. The dog started barking though.

Felt it at work in San Ramon. Everyone looks up and nodded. Lasted about 4-5 seconds.

I definitely felt it and it lasted a few seconds. At the moment it was quiet with no trucks, cars or trains going by.

Anyone notice unusual pet behavior prior ? Nothing from our cat.

Original G – No abnormal activity from either dog. Both sound asleep in the backyard. I was working in my home office and felt it. My partially drawn rattan window shade swayed a bit, but nothing fell and don’t see any new hairline wall cracks.

My dog was right next to me & looked at me like I did it.

Definitely felt it in downtown Concord…but we’re in a multi-story building that may sway more.

With the next shake, I want a double double and fries.

I was in Brentwood……….a bit of a roller.

Walnut Creek, at my desk…yes!
The North Pacific plate releasing pressure…

That’s a coincidence… I ate at a seafood restaurant last night & ordered “The North Pacific Plate”.

(Later on I released pressure too).

Weirdly I don’t feel quakes at our house. I was talking with someone at (nearby) Clayton Station on the phone who said he was feeling a good size earthquake.

I don’t either, Silva! You and I must live near one another on top of the same giant slab of quartz blocking the whole shooting match for Northern California! 😂

That MUST be it!🤣 It’s good to be blessed.😉

I was sitting in my parked car just outside of Kaiser hospital in W.C. and definitely felt it. I thought it was a strong gust of wind or maybe someone was bumping my car.

In my art class only about five miles from Blackhawk. Absolutely no earthquake there. Bizarre.

Was in a two-story building in Pleasanton. Heard rumbling before it rocked the building for a bit. Seemed to roll. The aftershock was significant too.

Felt it quite strongly on a hill in Walnut Creek.

I was driving on 24 West near Orinda. I thought I felt a quake.

I was at my dentist in San Ramon, located just a block or so from Crow Canyon Road, his office is on the first floor. Definitely felt it, he was about to drill when the building shook, he was ready to continue as soon as the building stopped shaking, I suggested he waited a minute or so, didn’t feel the second shake. Oddly enough this is the second time I was at the dentist when we had an earthquake, last time was in the eighties, before the 89 quake, and I was on the 15th floor on Union Square when a fairly strong quake hit, don’t remember the magnitude, also being on the 15th floor of an older building could be it was more noticeable.

I haven’t felt an earthquake here in Kirkwood, in years. Some people have all the fun.
