Authorities have arrested a 41-year-old Oakland man who’s suspected of murdering a Pacheco resident near Paddock Bowl on Friday afternoon.
Aaron Goode was taken into custody near the Concord BART station about 10 p.m. Friday, according to BART police.
Goode is suspected in the death of a man found shortly after noon Friday, covered in blood and laying in the sidewalk in the 5900 block of Pacheco Boulevard, authorities said.
Pleasant Hill police arrived and gave the man CPR but he died at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials say the victim, believed to be a 29-year-old Pacheco resident, knew the suspect. The victim’s name has not been released.
Goode was previously arrested in 2015 for allegedly stabbing the clerk at 7-Eleven on Pacheco Blvd. after the clerk asked him to leave the store.
Anyone with information about the death is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (925) 646-2441 or the investigation division at (925) 313-2600.

it is my brother im so sad he would never hurt any one he did not deserve this I hope he gets death.
Vanessa..I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your brother. May he rest eternal in heavenly peace. May God grant you and your family peace. Let justice prevail.
Gavin Newsom is trying to make sure he won’t.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Vanessa, my sympathies at the loss of your brother. Tragically sad news.
Vanessa..I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your brother. May he rest eternal in heavenly peace. May God grant you and your family peace. Let justice prevail.
Why was the stabber out of jail? He got a couple of years for attempted murder looks like.
This is the ultimate question. In what flippin’ world does a man stab a store clerk for doing his job, and end up back on the streets within 4 years?
If you are on top in society, the laws bend for you. If you are on the bottom of society, they don’t really bother to enforce them fully, since you are a lost cause, and they cant get any money out of you. If you are in the middle, with some money, something to lose, and no connections, better watch out…
It doesn’t mention if he was convicted, just arrested. If he’s convicted this time, let’s hope he gets life. He’s clearly a very dangerous man.
Incredibly sorry for your loss Vanessa, prayers for your brother & family.
Bigtime loser.

I read the penal transportation article on Wikipedia a couple of days ago and found it to be fascinating. It seems we have been dealing with prison overcrowding, the cost to build new prisons, changing of sentencing, guidelines or rules, and the types of punishment for as long as we had criminal justice systems. Questions such as “why was this guy still not in jail for his previous crime?” were being asked 400 years ago. North America used to be one of the places people sentenced to “transport” were shipped to. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penal_transportation
“Goode was previously arrested in 2015 for allegedly stabbing the clerk at 7-Eleven on Pacheco Blvd. after the clerk asked him to leave the store.”
********** The system is broken people..WAKE UP
Prop 47 & AB 109 – we are in trouble & the liberals are to blame for all of it
Almost like 3 strikes laws had a reason behind them.
The suspect is definitely a threat to society. Let not waste money on trial and jail space for him. If he doesn’t get the death penalty, I hope that words get out that he is a killer when he is in the joint so other inmates can take some stabs at him until his death😡
Vanessa, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. May God help you and your family through this pain.
Bring back mental hospitals.
How is that any different than prisons? Neither one provides true rehabilitation. Yes, there are some success stories, but not nearly enough. In most cases, both are run by overpaid gov’t workers (and yes, I do know that working in either place must suck), or privately run for profit. Neither system seems to work. Too many orgs (ACLU, Prisoner rights, etc.) give too many rights/privileges to criminals. And where will the money come from for the mental hospitals? More gas taxes?
We all gripe about judicial failures like this. How can anyone be back on the streets in less than 3 years after stabbing someone?
The DA and/or the judges involved should be held accountable.
I say this knowing that no one posting here (including me) will take the time to investigate the facts of the case, and the DA’s office will just be allowed to continue letting these perps back into the community.
At least I take some solace in the fact I did not vote for this democrat DA.
So sorry for your loss.
Vanessa, I’m very sorry for your loss and the loss to your entire family.
You keep voting in Liberal officials, who nominate liberal judges, and elect liberal DA’s this is what you get.
Working with a few retired cops on a project, they are so happy to be out. The current crop of officers may as well have the handcuffs on themselves.
Me, as a retired LEO, I am always prepared…………..108RS
What lead you to believe V voted Liberal?
It’s somewhat street justice when the liberals are screwed over by their own poilicies, and they are usually the ones that are the offenders, but those they victimize from their own crowd usually are libs too.Now comes the “you sure are assuming things” comments. All one needs to do is have eyes.
and thanks to the state government Demorats, and all of their feather brain snowflake dim witted supporters, he was placed back on the streets to prey on honest law abiding responsible citizens.
About time he got locked up again.i can tell you some stories……
How about that . . . .
From July 5, 4:45 PM
“When perpetrator is apprehended would not be at all surprised if person is known to law enforcement from many previous incidents. Criminals really have to work at it to be charged with a Felony in this state since prison emptying and Prop 47 raising dollar limit to be charged with a felony.”
Would appear a sufficient level of violence was achieved this time to warrant a FELONY charge.
Wonder how long it will take whiny liberals too start blaming perpetrators violence on his poor upbringing and being a disadvantaged youth ?
What is amazing is in this state that passed Three Strikes, is level of violence it now takes before the “system” takes a criminal seriously enough to charge them with a Felony.
But YOU must want this level of violence because you keep electing liberal democrats who have apparently turned this state into a refuge for criminals
I remember when AG got some 16 yo so drunk she passed out and hit her head on the table.he said he was going to take care of her and all he did was put her in a shopping cart and left her on her grandmas front step.when we found out we went looking for him never to see him again…..
Vanessa I am sorry for your loss.
anon- WC you’re right. Prop 47 and AB109 created the situation we find ourselves in now.

So rather building new prisons, it’s cheaper to let them out.
Newsom is getting rid of juvenile hall with the thought that kids don’t know
what they’re doing and can/should be rehabilitated. I have read
about some of the horrific things teenagers have done and dont think they
can all be rehabilitated.

When I looked up the person that got killed on social media,I could not find one post or sentence anywhere on his profile that wasn’t some kind of made up language of letters and words that weren’t English in any way.He seemed to be quite disturbed and had not posted anything for almost a year because he was now living on the street, possibly on a drug that had scranbled the way he was thinking.Nothing he posted makes any sense if you try to read it.its like rap,but its doesn’t even form a meaning. He needed some help, not live on the street.
apparently his bail was set at 1 mil.
