After reading comments, I would like to add that we would help. We live in Martinez, my kids are currently under the weather, but when they are well, I can help anybody who would like help setting up lights.

I don’t care, maybe they do it in November because they won’t have the time to set them up in December. It’s all good with me. People can celebrate and enjoy the Christmas season any way they choose. My neighbor set up some outside lights last week, and I think they look real nice.
It’s supposed to be the “happiest time of the year,” so live, and let live.

Can we just slow down and be patient and wait for after Thanksgiving or December?

I say, “To each his own!” But, factoring in the cost of electricity…I’ll wait.

Thanksgiving week is fine by me.
.
However, a neighbor down the street still has Halloween displays and decor on his house and lawn. FAIL!!!
But Olympic moves on ladders are something to behold.
The ladder walk, bounce lift and shift, soft ground tilt and base kick out ride the ladder down.

Put them up when you want. Shouldn’t bother anyone.

I like them all year ’round. It’s cheerful! I have mine on frost-tender plants for those cold nights. A neighbor has them up all year ’round to light the front of his house. They are delightful to see and quite efficient at lighting the entire area since we don’t have street lights. Thinking about doing it myself.
@GITTYUP….You need to use the old time bulbs to protect plants. New LED Christmas lights won’t work for that, they don’t throw off much heat. I’ve done that for years, beats covering plants up everyday.

People can put up their Christmas lights whenever they wish even if it is before Thanksgiving. I personally wait until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas but that is just me.
Truthfully I was happy & relieved to see that Claycord still refers to them as “Christmas Lights” and not Holiday Lights!

As my brother used to say “Whatever floats your boat.” My next door neighbor put their outside decorations up yesterday. I think the ones up the court put out theirs the day before Thanksgiving. I don’t do any until the first weekend in December. And I know some of the stores had stuff out to sell for Christmas well before Halloween.

For this year, absolutely. Everybody seems so miserable (wish we were like we were in 2020), we need to add happiness in any way we can. Usually, I wait until Thanksgiving, but I am older, and slower, and a month between Thanksgiving and Christmas seems too short (again, probably due to age), so a few extra days to (over) glamorize the house, yep….

When you are older and need your offspring to help set up tree and bring in decorations, you won’t be so concerned about calendar dates, but more about availability of the help. Our tree was up a week ago and slowly decorating it, thanks to a son and his girlfriend. Otherwise we would probably have not been able to decorate this year at all. We also gave away some decorations to them we will no longer use.
Less is more.

I keep my lights on the house up year round , currently they are a fall color , on Friday I will change them to a Christmas theme with an app on my phone
I prefer the first weekend of December but if you want them up Friday after Thanksgiving, ok, but no sooner.
We have ours out already. Our next door neighbor has his decorations up as well.
Honestly, I would love decorative lights all year round. I wish there were more Thanksgiving decorations to put up, and Easter needs some too.
Do them when you feel up to it, but do them. My kids and I will drive by.

It doesn’t matter to me whether people display lights or not.
It’s their choice.
We have so few remaining, celebrate as you like.
Dec 24th is good
Why not? It’s no big deal… why does anyone want to bust someones groove?
They aren’t hurting anybody.
